thought to be dead after being thrown off of a cliff by his father Heihachi, Kazuya is one of
the most feared fighters of the Tekken tournament. As the son of Heihachi
Mishima, Kazuya uses his family's style of marital arts (Mishima style).
He had a "casual" relationship with Jun Kazama and they
had a son, Jin. Kazuya has a long time standing
rivalry between his father, Heihachi. He is also the master of the famous
"Electric Wind Godfist." Devil is
his alter-ego, when the devil gene consumes him.
After being defeated by Heihachi and thrown into the mouth of a volcano twenty
years ago, Kazuya was brought back to life by G Corporation, a biotech firm
making revolutionary advances in the field of biogenetics research. With G
Corporation's aid, Kazuya investigated the mechanism of the Devil Gene that
resides within his body by subjecting himself to genetic experiments. Kazuya
believed that once he unlocked and controlled the power of the Devil Gene, he
would be powerful enough to defeat Heihachi and destroy the Mishima Zaibatsu.
Twenty years later, the Tekken Forces attacked a G Corporation research facility
without warning and succeeded in stealing research data for the Mishima
Zaibatsu. Kazuya learns that he was also a target in the attack. Infuriated that
Heihachi once again ruined his plans, Kazuya is determined to seek his revenge
against Heihachi more than ever. Kazuya instantly recognizes the announcement of
The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4 as a trap set by Heihachi to lure him out.
Despite this knowledge, Kazuya enters the Tournament it is his chance to defeat
During the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, Kazuya suffered a defeat at the hands
of Heihachi and later Jin at the Honmaru. When he finally regained consciousness
he was surrounded by a Jack-4 squad. "G Corporation! So they plan to take
me out too" Kazuya teamed with Heihachi to fight off the successive waves
of Jacks until he saw his chance and left the Honmaru without Heihachi. He
morphed into a devil and takes flight just as the Honmaru explodes. Kazuya,
determined to exact revenge on those who betrayed him, decided to enter the King
of Iron Fist Tournament 5.
Mishima has figured out which division of G Corporation was the one that
betrayed him and viciously killed them all. Kazuya has now risen to the
head of G Corporation in the shadows. The world is now against the Mishima
Zaibatsu and Kazuya fuels the fire by leading G Corporation against it.
Kazuya can't stand anyone else conquering the world other than himself
so he decides to go against Jin Kazama and the Mishima Zaibatsu. Kazuya
realizes that G Corporation is very influential amongst the people of the
world now and he announces that anyone who captures Jin Kazama alive will
receive a handsome cash reward. Immediately following his announcement,
the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 is announced by the Mishima Zaibatsu.
Kazuya predicted this would happen and began to laugh hysterically.

Kazuya started as a pretty cool and "original" fighter in the first Tekken.
He debuted with quite a few unique moves, with the exception of "a
few" inspired by other fighting game characters. In
Tekken 2, he definitely became a more fleshed out design, and his later absence in Tekken 3 only made his future
return more epic. Also worth mentioning about his fighting style is that he
uses MANY authentic Karate-based techniques (and executes them with a certain
badass factor), which real life martial artists can greatly appreciate.
Kaz became more & more badass as the storyline progressed, in more ways than one. His
hard-hitting fighting style only became more well-rounded & awesome, and his badass appearances in
the intros also did a lot for
his persona. Present day Kazuya has one of the most stylish mafia-style
suits around, a brutally awesome fighting style, and don't even think about
messing with his evil
side. Yeah, he can turn into a Devil and laser your face off if he gets bored
kicking your ass with traditional Karate. lol. On that note, most
"Karate" based fighters in the fighting game realm (and elsewhere) are
typically "good guys". Kazuya being a bad guy and using Karate is yet
another powerful aspect of his design. Lastly, his likeness to Demitri
is pretty ironic.
