Mrs. Roger and Roger Jr. entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 to look for Mr. Roger who had been missing. After all their perseverance, they had finally found him indulging himself in a carefree life of elegance without an ounce of family responsibility on his mind. Disgusted with what had become of her husband, Mrs. Roger divorced him right then and there.
 
  
 
[The former] Mrs. Roger and Roger Jr. had become members to a fatherless home, and times were tough. Just then, an announcement about the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 was made, and so for the purpose of living a rich and stable life for themselves, The former Mrs. Roger and Roger Jr. decided to take part in the tournament once again.

Most people who truly enjoy Tekken probably aren't playing it for Roger Jr... lol. Anyhow, a fighting game with nothing but "serious martial artists" could potentially get monotonous and boring... or umm... Virtua Fighter. ^o^; The Tekken series previously introduced several "animal characters" throughout the years, which have worked brilliantly as comic relief, and Roger Jr. keeps the tradition alive. Also, kangaroos are actually fighters in real life... so it actually makes a little bit of sense.  The boxing kangaroo stereotype has never been done more hilariously... or disturbingly, whichever you prefer. I say that because Roger Jr.'s mother that's doing most of the fighting here (just don't tell Roger Jr.)... lol. Any way you look at it, Roger Jr. is hands down one of the most cleverly entertaining "joke characters" to ever appear in a fighting game. He's also developed nicely after his epic debut in Tekken 5... and major props to you if you can master "Fancy kangaroo boxing"! Heh, he can actually be used pretty effectively if you take the time to learn him!
