Super Street Fighter IV Details!
Capcom has confirmed that Super Street Fighter IV will be a stand-alone title featuring 8 new characters & gameplay tweaks! Producer Yoshinori Ono stated that every returning character has been changed slightly based on comments from both players and the dev team, and an improved online experience is also in the works. SSFIV is set for a Spring 2010 release for Playstation 3 & Xbox 360! Confirmed characters so far include: Dee Jay, T. Hawk, and Juri.

Blazblue: Continuum Shift!
The first expansion to the highly proclaimed 2D fighter will feature at least one new character, Tsubaki Yayoi, who makes an appearance in the story mode of Blazblue. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is rumored to debut in Japanese arcades soon, with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports expected later on down the road!

Full TVC: UAS Roster Leaked...
On September 9th, the newly-redesigned Japanese Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars website launched and contained source code featuring image placeholders for five characters... The five images were named: zero.jpg, frank.jpg, yatter02.jpg, joe.jpg, & tekkabla.jpg. The file names heavily suggest that the 5 new characters for the game will be Mega Man Zero, Frank West, Yatterman 2, Joe the Condor & Tekkaman Blade. Capcom will officially be announcing the new characters in the coming weeks (probably at TGS), so don't forget to act surprised!!!

In celebration of samurai-inspired games, Capcom & Koei will be teaming up to create an exhibit featuring historic samurai artifacts at this years Tokyo Game Show! Armor and items directly related to Uesugi Kenshin, Naoe Kanetsugu, Oda Nobunaga, and Date Masamune will be on display!

New Mad Catz Fighting Peripherals.
Below is a leaked photo of a Mad Catz Marvel VS Capcom 2 Tournament Edition fight stick as seen in the recent Gamestop manager conference... Rumor is it'll be released September 25 with a $159.99 price tag. A Round 2 Street Fighter IV fight stick was also shown at the conference, as well as several new fight pads, all from Mad Catz.

KOF XII Online Mode Patched!!!
Chances are if you bought King of Fighters XII, you were extremely disappointed by the lag-infested online mode. Well, now for some long awaited good news... Today, the PS3 version's online mode was patched and online battles have improved dramatically (confirmed from personal experience)! Finally, nearly lag-free KOF XII online matches can be played!

According to the press release, this update "fundamentally changes the way game data is processed and synchronized during online matches, placing greater importance on the game's response time and allowing for much smoother play." A patch for the Xbox 360 version is also in the works and should be available soon!

SF IV: Femme Fatale Stick!
Mad Catz will be releasing a "Limited Edition 'Femme Fatale' Street Fighter IV: Tournament Edition" fight stick which will make it's debut at the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo. Only 650 copies of the Xbox 360 version & 350 of the PS3 version will be made. This stick features artwork of all of SF IV's female fighters, and will be available at the Capcom and Mad Catz online stores as well as PAX on September 4th!

KOF XII Getting Online Patch!
Yep, KOF XII has been mostly laggy online (though I've had a few lag-free matches). A spokesperson for the game has declared "While not all players experienced these issues, an update for the game will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28th for the PlayStation 3 which should help improve the overall quality and stability of online play for everyone." The Xbox 360 is also getting the patch, but no date is currently set.

Namco Bandai & Tapout Team up!
At this year's San Diego Comic Con, Namco Bandai announced their collaboration with with MMA apparel brand Tapout! Special Tapout apparel will be available as in-game customizations for characters in the home version of Tekken 6, and Tapout themselves will also be creating several corresponding retail t-shirts! This agreement marks Namco Bandai's first co-branding initiative with a major apparel brand for in-game and offline items. As huge Tekken fan and MMA fan, I gotta say this is a pretty f*ing cool collaboration!

More KOF XII Characters Confirmed?
If you're in any way disappointed with KOF XII's 'current' roster, take comfort in the following screens (sent in by Ryan) which show the online character usage rankings. There are 3 empty slots shown, which pretty much confirms SNK is hard at work drawing up at least 3 more characters for The King of Fighters XII (and hopefully a new stage or two). The fact that there's a PSN/XBLA store link on the game's MAIN MENU also heavily suggests some epic DLC.

Mad Catz TvC Fight Stick...
Capcom reported that Mad Catz stopped by their Comic-Con booth yesterday to show off their new Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars fight stick. The non-working Wii mock-up still needs "approval" as Capcom states that they have it at their booth to see what gamers think of it. If you ask me, if it's anything like the white SF IV stick released earlier this year, it might break (like mine did). TFG highly recommends the Exar TVC fight stick.

360 version - July 29th... PS3 version - August 13th. PS3 owners will have to wait a couple extra weeks before MvC2 hits PSN... Hopefully the netcode will be worth the wait! Battle Fantasia On PSN!
Arc System Work's Battle Fantasia is finally coming to the PS3 in North America, courtesy of the PlayStation Network. "The fans have been asking for it and we're here to deliver," said Frank "Bo" (Project Lead, Aksys Games). "Thanks to the revival of the fighting genre this year there hasn't been a better time to release such a fun and exciting fighter like Battle Fantasia on the PlayStation Network." No word on trophy support, but judging by every new PSN game, this version will more than likely have trophies when it launches!

PS3/360 Tatsunoko VS Capcom Sequel!?
Capcom's Ryota Niitsuma has stated we'd more likely see PSN & XLBA get a sequel of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars than a port of the original. He continued "the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features. So if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it."

This isn't confirmation of a sequel for PS3/360, as Niitsuma also said... "Currently, no." is the answer to "will TvC be released on 360 or PS3." But, "We would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii." That basically means Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars needs to sell well on the Wii when it hits this Winter, for there to be any hope of a future PS3/360 release. Well, I'm buying it... Aren't you?

Due to Midway's financial collapse and recent takeover by Warner Bros., the originally planned downloadable content for Mortal Kombat VS DC has been canned. Ed Boon recently twittered "Excited about MK9 and WB, but wish we could have released DLC for MKvsDC." A render for what Quan Chi would have looked like in the game can be seen below.
