"The Fight is Real" SoulCalibur VI Spot Features Producer Okubo with U.S.A. Olympic Fencer

Bandai Namco posted a new Soul Calibur VI spot featuring producer Motohiro Okubo with U.S.A. Olympic team Fencer and bronze medallist, Miles Chamley-Watson. In this unique video presentation, the two discuss the art of real fencing, which leads to Okubo-san talking about the inspiration behind Raphael Sorel's design and moveset in Soul Calibur VI. In the video, Okubo-san and Miles even have a duel in both Olympic-style fencing and Soul Calibur VI.

Female Skullomania Joins SNK Heroines as Guest Character

As fighting game fans in 2018, we are living in a time of infinite possibilities when it comes to crossovers. The collaboration of SNK and Arika was unveiled back in August, with Terry Bogard confirmed as an upcoming character in Fighting EX Layer. Today, SNK announced that a female version of Skullomania will be joining SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy as a future DLC guest character. Mech Zangief & Classic Vega Costumes Coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Capcom is continuing their trend of releasing classic / throwback costumes in SFV: Arcade Edition. In Extra Battle mode, a new Mech Zangief costume will soon be unlockable for Zangief; and in Fighting Chance, players can earn a "classic" SF2 look for Vega. For the Mech Zangief costume, players must login weekly starting Sept. 27th to earn all 4 pieces of the costume, costing 2,500 in-game Fight Money with each attempt. Dead or Alive 6 Tokyo Game Show '18 Gameplay Roundup

The latest build of Dead or Alive 6 was present at Tokyo Game Show '18 and featured playable versions of four of the latest characters to be announced for DOA6: Ayane, Marie Rose, Bayman, and Honoka. Here's a roundup of the latest DOA6 gameplay (nearly 2 hours of footage), including some footage of a special exhibition tournament held by Koei Tecmo.

SFV: Arcade Edition Coming to Japan Arcades in 2019

At Tokyo Game Show '18 during the Capcom Pro Tour Japan Premier, Yoshinori Ono took the stage to announce an actual arcade version of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition - which will arrive in Japanese arcades sometime in 2019. The SFV arcade cabinet will use new Vewlix hardware and feature a USB port on either side so players can use their own gamepads or fightsticks. The first location test for the arcade version is set for October 5th-7th, 2018 at select Japanese arcades.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Free Update Adds New Galactic Arena Stage & Halloween Avatars / Colors

Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting a free update on September 26th, adding new Z Capsules with "Halloween-themed" character colors, lobby avatars, and stamps. These will be unlockable only for a limited time until the end of November. Check out official screenshots from Bandai Namco showing some of the new content. (And yes, that blue cat/fox-themed Goku costume is based off of DBFZ EVO '18 winner, SonicFox.) Also coming in the free update is a new stage called "Galactic Arena".

Fighting Vipers to be Playable in Upcoming Yakuza Spin-off, Project Judge

The latest project by the development team behind the Yakuza series is a game called Project Judge. Past Yakuza games have featured a variety of playable Sega arcade classics within them, including Virtua Fighter 5 in Yakuza 6. A spin-off of the Yakuza series, Project Judge will include a playable fighting game considered to be a spin-off of the Virtua Fighter series... 1995's Fighting Vipers. Project Judge is set to release on PS4 in Japan on December 13th, 2018, followed by a Western release sometime in 2019.

SoulCalibur VI Online Network Test on PS4 / XB1 Takes Place Sept. 28th, 2018, Controls Guide

If you enjoy fighting games on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, get ready to try out Soul Calibur VI online next weekend! Bandai Namco announced a Soul Calibur VI network test / beta which takes place Sept. 28th (8am PST) and runs until Sept. 30th (8pm PST). The network test is free and open to all PS4 & XB1 users. Just download the SC6 network test on PSN or XBL Sept. 27th and login on Sept. 28th to test out Ranked Match. The network test will have 15 characters and 9 stages available.

Soul Calibur VI TGS '18 Gameplay Featuring Azwel, Astaroth, Lizard Man, Story & Creation Modes

New Soul Calibur 6 gameplay footage from Tokyo Game Show '18 has arrived. French Youtuber Hayate Ein was able to get his hands on the "final" version of the game early, as his latest videos walk us through the game's main menu and Libra of Soul mode. In story mode, the player ran into Lizard Man (with his returning / updated moveset), hinting that Lizard Man could be a playable character. Dragon Ball FighterZ Android 17 Reveal Trailer, Screenshots & Character Artwork

Today, Bandai Namco released the first screenshots of Android 17 in Dragon Ball FighterZ, in addition to his official character artwork. As far as Android 17's release date goes, there's still no official word from Bandai Namco (but we'll keep you updated). However, Cooler is set to arrive as DLC on September 28th. Considering all other DLC characters for DBFZ released in pairs, it's very possible Android 17 will also join the game on Sept. 28th. [UPDATE] Android 17 reveal trailer added!

DOA6 New Screens & Character Renders for Ayane, Marie Rose, Bayman & Honoka + TGS '18 Gameplay

Koei Tecmo released official character renders and 19 screenshots of 4 of the latest characters to be revealed for Dead or Alive 6: Ayane, Marie Rose, Bayman, and Honoka. The latest batch of DOA6 screens is the most vibrant yet, showing off the new "Jurassic Park-meets-water-park" stage, Lost Paradise. Additionally, check out 7 minutes of new DOA6 gameplay footage from Tokyo Game Show 2018, showing an updated character select screen, in-game menus, and the Lost Paradise stage.

PlayStation Classic Console Coming This December, Pre-Loaded with 20 Games Including Tekken 3

Sony is joining the retro "mini-console" craze with their announcement of the PlayStation Classic, a mini PS1 console pre-loaded with 20 games. The console is 45% smaller than the original PS1, includes an HDMI output, 2 replica classic controllers, and comes pre-loaded with 20 legendary PS1 titles, including TEKKEN 3. Check out the official announce trailer for an up-close look at the mini-console and its features. PlayStation Classic will launch December 3rd, 2018 for $100.

Android 17 is Dragon Ball FighterZ's Next DLC Character 

The latest issue of V-Jump has confirmed earlier rumors that Android 17 is coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ as the game's next DLC fighter. The scan from V-Jump shows the first images and artwork of Android 17, in addition to a new stage called "The Space Arena". Confirmed special moves for 17 include his "Barrier Explosion", "Super Electric Stike", and "End Game". According to V-Jump, Android 17 will be added to the game later this month.

SFV: Arcade Edition Customizable Dojo Stage / Community Hubs Coming September 25th

Capcom announced a free (and customizable) Dojo stage coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. To receive the stage, players just need to register their SFV account on the official Shadaloo C.R.I. website. Players can then customize the stage visually with a variety of objects - unlockable completing certain tasks. Dojos also act as community hubs, with dojo "Grand Masters" being able to invite other members who can earn points for the dojo. Dojos will also have their own rankings.

Along with Cervantes, the existence of Raphael in Soul Calibur VI was leaked earlier this month via screen captures. Tonight, Bandai Namco has officially revealed Raphael with a new gameplay trailer. Sporting a new gentlemanly look, the potentially "youngest" version of Raphael to appear in a Soul Calibur game demonstrates a mix of new and old techniques from his iconic moveset. NeoGeo Mini International Now Available for Pre-Order in North America

Pre-orders have opened up for SNK's NEOGEO Mini International. You can now pre-order the stylish NEOGEO Mini system which features a working 3.5" screen and comes with 40 games, an HDMI cable, game pad, and panel stickers for $109. Amazon states the system will be released on October 15th, 2018. SNK also released a launch trailer for the NEOGEO Mini International, outlining all of its features.

Soul Calibur VI Game Modes Introduction Trailer

Bandai Namco's latest trailer for Soul Calibur VI is all about modes, which the game seems to have plenty of. The 4-minute trailer reveals brand new footage of Character Creation, the game's two Story modes, and Museum - which showcases concept artwork, character/weapon profiles, music, and more. On the topic of music, you might've noticed the trailer itself features some remixes of classic tracks of the series, which are likely to appear in SC6 in some form.

DOA6 Trailer Confirms Ayane, Marie Rose, Bayman, Honoka, Nyotengu & Phase-4, Releases Feb. 15th, 2019

Koei Tecmo's latest DOA6 trailer confirms the return of 6 characters from the prequel and reveals the game's release date, February 15th, 2019. Just under 2 minutes long, the new trailer confirms the return of Ayane, Marie Rose, Bayman, Nyotengu & Phase-4 in DOA6. According to the trailer's description, Nyotengu is a pre-order bonus character for the PS4 version, and Phase-4 will "return as a DLC character" for people who buy the Digital Deluxe edition.

SNK Announces New Samurai Shodown for 2019, Announce Trailer + HD Screenshots

And it's NOT PACHINKO! :) As promised, SNK has announced a brand new game... and it's one that long-time SNK fans have been waiting for. A new Samurai Spirits (or as we know it in the West, Samurai Shodown) is planned for a 2019 release on PS4. The game features a new style of 3D graphics using the Unreal Engine, and looks to retain the look and feel of the original 2D series. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy Now Available on PS4 & Switch, Launch Trailers

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is now available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for $49.99. SNK and NIS America released a launch trailer for SNK Heroines showing more of the game's story, cutscenes, costumes, character customization, and gameplay. Nintendo's official YouTube channel also released their own launch trailer for SNK Heroines, showing additional gameplay.

Tekken 7 Lei Wulong & Anna Williams Classic & Alternate Costumes Screenshots, New Trailer

In addition to their new looks, Lei Wulong and Anna Williams will be getting alternate costumes in TEKKEN 7. The first two DLC characters of TEKKEN 7 Season 2 come with several unique (and customizable) costumes, including their "Classic" costumes. Along with his trademark TEKKEN 5 Kung-Fu attire, Lei shows off new Spec-Ops gear and a Chinese Kenpo uniform; while Anna Williams dons her signature red dress, a Sexy Pirate costume, and fuzzy jacket with shorts.

Soul Calibur 6 Could be the Final Installment of the Series, Unless The Game Sells Well

Soul Calibur VI Producer Motohiro Okubo recently did an interview with DualShockers.com at Gamescom '18. He revealed that he had to do some "convincing" to Bandai Namco in order to begin working on SC6, as the series is "facing a crisis" with low expectations from the company. Okubo-san made it clear that if Soul Calibur VI saw a worst case scenario and doesn't sell well, it could be the final game of the series.

Tekken 7 Season 2 Full Patch Notes

Today, Bandai Namco released the full patch notes for all pre-existing characters in TEKKEN 7 Season 2 on their TEKKEN World Tour website. This major balance update adds new moves, buffs, and nerfs... changing hit properties, damage levels, and other aspects to character movesets. Any TEKKEN player worth their salt will want to glance through these official patch notes more than once before the update arrives September 6th, 2018.

SNK is Announcing a New Game on September 10th, 2018

SNK just posted a countdown on their official Japanese website with "SNK New Game" in the web address itself. The text "A New Dawn Rises..." appears alongside the countdown, which ends on Sept. 10th, 2018. SNK Global and KOF14 Art Director Nobuyuki Kuroki both posted the link and tweeted: "New SNK Game Announcements". Is a new Garou or a Samurai Shodown on the horizon? Is it possible more than one new game will be announced?

SFV: Arcade Edition Getting SF1 "Mike-Like" Retro Costume

On Twitter, Capcom announced today that they are giving Balrog a new retro costume in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition based on Mike from Street Fighter 1. Players can get the "Mike-like" Balrog costume in SFV's Fighting Chance until September 24th, 2018. The official video on Street Fighter's Twitter shows a few seconds of the Mike costume in action.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Cooler 5-Minute Gameplay Trailer

Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment America posted a 5-minute gameplay trailer for the latest DLC character to join Dragon Ball FighterZ, Cooler. The new trailer gives the most comprehensive look at Cooler to date, showing off much of his moveset. We also get to hear Cooler's English voice actor for the first time. As one of the largest fighters in DBFZ to date, Cooler definitely has size and intimidation on his side.

Soul Calibur VI Azwel Official Artwork, Screenshots & Character Bio

Following Azwel's gameplay reveal trailer, Bandai Namco released over 30 screenshots, character artwork by Takuji Kawano, and Azwel's character bio. The new batch of screens shows Azwel's "powered-up" form, hinting that he could be the final boss of the game. However, we're speculating that both of Azwel's forms are also playable by default - as a normal character. Until we have more solid details, learn a bit more about the mysterious scholar who wields the powerful weapon called Palindrome.

Iori Yagami Joins Million Arthur: Arcana Blood, 2D Fighter Coming to PS4 in Japan on November 29th

2D sprite loving fighting game fans might just have another anime fighting game to look forward to. Last November, Square Enix released an arcade 2D fighting game based on their Million Arthur mobile game series. During their recent live stream, Square Enix announced Million Arthur: Arcana Blood is coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan on November 29th. Also announced... Thief Arthur Announced as DLC Guest Character for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy

Thief Arthur from Million Arthur (a Squire Enix series that originated as a card battle game) has been announced as an upcoming guest and DLC character in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. The announcement was made during Square Enix's recent live stream. Interestingly, this crossover will also carry over into Square Enix's own spin-off fighting game, with Iori Yagami appearing in the 2D sprite-based fighting game: Million Arthur: Arcana Blood.

Tekken 7 Season 2 Gets New Customizations, Including Summer Lesson & Tekken World Tour Costumes

On Bandai Namco's Japanese website, TEKKEN Official, screenshots of new customization items for TEKKEN 7 Season 2 have surfaced. These customizations are an "extra bonus" for players who purchase the Season 2 Pass, and include 3 sets of customization bundles: TEKKEN World Tour Set, Summer Lesson Set, and Hit Effect Set. 12 Minutes of DOA6 Gameplay From Gamescom '18

Koei Tecmo director Yohei Shimbori attended Gamescom 2018 and brought the latest build of Dead or Alive 6 for fans to try out. This 12-minute IGN DOA6 gameplay video from GC '18 features plenty of footage of the newly announced characters, Hitomi and Lei Fang. The returning female fighters even show off some alternate colors for their default outfits. Other characters such as Hayabusa, Hayate, Diego, Jann Lee, and Zack also make an appearance, fighting it out on the new pirate stage: Forbidden Fortune.

Tekken 7 Season 2 Balance Changes & New Mechanic Showcase

TEKKEN 7 Season 2 launches September 6th, 2018 as a free patch and includes updates for all characters. This video runs through all 38 fighters in the game (not including Lei & Anna), showing some of these changes. All characters now have specific moves to initiate a "Wall Bounce" - offering a new combo option against a wall. Other move properties have changed enabling new follow-ups, and some characters get new Rage Drives. As previously reported, all T7 newcomers get brand new moves.

Bandai Namco dropped two exciting Soul Calibur VI trailers at Gamescom '18. First up is Tira's reveal trailer, which confirms her as a DLC character (a bonus character for Season Pass owners). Next is the "Libra of Soul" mode trailer, which is described as a "second story mode" featuring your created character of choice. Dead or Alive 6 Hitomi and Lei Screenshots, Character Renders, Gamescom '18 Trailer

It appears Koei Tecmo has plans to officially reveal returning characters Hitomi and Lei Fang for Dead or Alive 6 at this week's upcoming Gamescom 2018 in Koeln, Germany. Screenshots of Hitomi and Lei Fang have leaked a bit early, showing the two female fighters battling it out on a new "pirate-themed" stage (complete with a giant Kraken interrupting the fight). Tekken 7 Season 2 Kicks Off September 6th, Adds Anna & Lei, Gameplay System Updates & Rank Gauge

During this weekend's Tokyo TEKKEN Masters 2018 tournament, Bandai Namco announced Season 2 of TEKKEN 7 will officially begin September 6th, 2018. Alongside Anna Williams and Lei Wulong, quite a few gameplay and system updates will be added to the game. Voice Actor for Heihachi Mishima and Iconic Anime Characters, Unshō Ishizuka, Passes Away

Japanese voice actor Unshō Ishizuka (born Yukinori Ishizuka), known for his many roles in video games and anime series, has passed away. Ishizuka replaced Daisuke Gōri as the voice of Heihachi Mishima, who also passed away in 2010. Besides Heihachi, in the fighting game universe, Ishizuka voiced Guile in CVS2 / Capcom Fighting Evolution, Joseph Joestar in JJBA, and Brad Wong in DOA. Ishizuka also voiced Professor Oak in the Pokemon TV series, and Blanka in Street Fighter: The Animated Movie (1994).

The Man Dressed as "G" During EVO 2018 Announcement is G's Voice Actor, Christopher Smith

Before the Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Top 8 finalists duked it out at EVO 2018, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono took the stage to announce G and Sagat for the game. Prior to the world premiere of the character reveal trailers, a mysterious man cosplaying as "G" took the EVO stage to give quite the presidential speech. We now know that man is actually G's voice actor, Christopher Smith, who also has a special message for Street Fighter fans via Twitter.

Base Form Goku & Vegeta Join Dragon Ball FighterZ in Latest Update, Full Patch Notes

Arc System Works have officially released Base Goku and Base Vegeta as DLC characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ. These nostalgic iterations of Goku and Vegeta are joined by a major balance patch, which looks to change up quite a few characters. The patch also brings updates to Training Mode, World Match, and several menu tweaks. Even System Mechanics get a tune up, with recovery frames of a successful reflect no longer being in counter hit state.

Dead or Alive 6 director Yohei Shimbori was present at EVO '18 along with an early build of DOA6. At EVO '18, director Yohei himself threw down with some EVO '18 goers in his own game. Screens & Artwork of Tekken 7's Anna and Lei

Today, Bandai Namco released high-quality TEKKEN 7 character art and official screenshots for returning series veterans, Lei Wulong and Anna Williams. With Lei and Anna being two of the most requested characters to return in TEKKEN 7, fans are anxiously awaiting to use them once again when Season 2 arrives. SFV: Arcade Edition Sagat and G Available August 6th, Reveal Trailers, Screenshots & Details... ohh my.

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono took the EVO '18 stage prior to the SFV: Arcade Edition finals to make some announcements. After a live action "G" made a surprise appearance on stage, Street Fighter fans got the first look at SFV Season 3's final newcomer, G, the mysterious "president of the world"! Afterwards, Yoshinori Ono reappeared on stage with an eye patch... which can only mean one thing: there's also a Sagat trailer! As if the crowd wasn't hype enough, both characters join SFV tomorrow!

Dragon Ball FighterZ EVO '18 Trailer Reveals Cooler, Shows Base Goku Vs. Vegeta Cinematics

Following the Dragon Ball FighterZ EVO '18 grand finals, Bandai Namco dropped a new trailer revealing Freiza's older brother, Cooler. The trailer also shows off some intense cinematics between Base Goku & Vegeta that long-time Dragon Ball Z fans will appreciate. Also announced, Base Goku & Vegeta will join Dragon Ball FighterZ as DLC this Wednesday, August 8th.

Tekken 7 Season 2 Brings Lei Wulong, Anna Williams, 3 Unannounced Fighters & Negan from The Walking Dead

After the conclusion of TEKKEN 7's finals at EVO '18, Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray took the stage. After thanking fans for supporting TEKKEN 7 at EVO for the last 4 years, the team dropped a new trailer confirming a Season 2 for TEKKEN 7! Two fan-favorite legacy characters, Lei Wulong and Anna Williams, will make their way to TEKKEN 7, in addition to 3 more (unannounced) characters. Last but not least, a collaboration with AMC's The Walking Dead will bring Negan into T7 as a guest character.

Terry Bogard Announced for Fighting EX Layer, Sharon & Area Shown in New Trailer, Arcade Version

Never has a fighting game character been announced in two separate games, within two days! Terry Bogard is breaking all kinds of records. Just days after a female Terry was revealed in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, the lone wolf himself has been announced as a guest character in Fighting EX Layer. After the finals at EVO '18, Arika dropped a new trailer showing all kinds of new content coming to FEXL. Returning SFEX veterans Sharon and Area are teased later in the trailer, along with some new stages.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Character Packs 4-6 Releasing August 6th, New Crossover Teased

At the conclusion of EVO '18's BBTAG finals, Arc System Works officially announced 9 more characters for the game. BlazBlue's Mai Natsume, Izayoi, and Nine, Under Night's Merkava, Mika & Yuzuriha, and P4A's Mitsuru, Akihiko & Labrys will arrive in just a few days on August 6th, 2018. Additionally, at Cross Counter TV's Bar Fights, Arc System Works teased a new franchise coming to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy Adds Female Terry Bogard

Today, SNK revealed the latest playable character in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy... a gender-swapped version of Terry Bogard, of course. This actually isn't the first time we've seen a female Terry Bogard in a fighting game (Demitri's Midnight Bliss in SVC Chaos), but this is the first time the "fatal cutie" is playable. As you might expect, Female Terry has most of the original's special moves, including the iconic Buster Wolf, but she also shows off some unique techniques in her reveal trailer.

Diego & Rig Revealed for Dead or Alive 6 in New Trailers

Earlier today, Koei Tecmo released 2 new gameplay trailers for Dead or Alive 6. The new DOA6 trailers reveal returning DOA5 character, Rig, along with a newcomer to the series, Diego. A brawler and unrefined street fighter, Diego seems to take some inspiration from TEKKEN's Miguel Caballero Rojo from TEKKEN. All together, there's nearly 7 minutes of new DOA6 gameplay footage to check out.

Nearly 20 Minutes of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy Gameplay from SNK

SNK posted a new Youtube video featuring nearly 20 full minutes of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy gameplay. In the video, staff from Goziline.com (Japanese gaming news site) provide commentary alongside former SKE48 idol, Sawako Hata. The Japanese commentators talk about some of the mechanics and modes of SNK Heroines, before they battle it out in several full matches.

Fighting EX Layer Update 1.0.7 Adds Arcade Mode, Other Fixes

Arika has released update 1.0.7 for Fighting EX Layer, which adds Arcade Mode to the main menu and fixes several performance issues. Arcade Mode lets players battle the CPU across 7 stages with Easy, Normal & Hard difficulty levels available. For online Ranked Match, players will now be returned to the mode they were previously playing after finishing an online match. Online stability has also been improved.

Soul Calibur VI Battle Mechanics Blog with Producer Okubo

Bandai Namco Entertainment posted a Soul Calibur VI blog with Producer Motohiro Okubo. Having worked on TEKKEN 7 (which is still enjoying a lucrative competitive scene after several years), Okubo is applying "key lessons" for designing SC6's gameplay system. The blog details each of SC6's battle mechanics, including: Reversal Edge, Soul Charge, Lethal Hit, and Guard Impact, and outlines why both experienced & new players should enjoy the mechanics.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Base Goku & Vegeta Reveal Trailers + Screenshots

"Base Form" Goku and Vegeta were confirmed for Dragon Ball FighterZ as DLC characters a few days back. [UPDATE] Bandai Namco posted the official reveal trailers & screenshots showing the upcoming fighters and their trademark moves. Both DLC characters come out in early August for $4.99 each. They are also included in the $34.99 "FighterZ Pass" along with Broly, Bardock, Fused Zamasu, Vegito (SSGSS) and 2 additional characters yet to be announced (currently rumored to be Android 17 and Cooler).

Ryu Joins The Power Rangers in Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, Live Action Short Film Announced

Ryu from Street Fighter has done a lot of things in his 30 year career... but one thing he hasn't done (until now), is become a Power Ranger. Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, the "Ryu Ranger" is coming soon to the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars as a playable character. Not only that, but a short live action film by Bat in The Sun titled Power Rangers Legacy Wars: Street Fighter Showdown is coming this Fall. Base Form Goku & Vegeta Headed to Dragon Ball FighterZ

If you thought Dragon Ball FighterZ didn't already have more than enough versions of Goku and Vegeta (first of all, you have a very unpopular opinion), but Arc System Works has you covered anyway. "Base form" Goku and Vegeta have been confirmed as DLC for DBFZ, and V-Jump magazine has provided a first look at the iconic fighters. This version of Goku is known for his "Kaio-Ken" and Super Spirit Bomb, while base form Vegeta brings his Galick Gun and Galaxy Breaker.

Haggar, Cody & Guy Confront Mad Gear in "The Broken Gear: A Final Fight Film"

The Game Basement Productions released a fan film based on Capcom's iconic series, Final Fight... and it's actually worth a watch. "The Broken Gear" features UFC and pro-wrestling legend, Don Frye, as Mayor Mike Haggar... possibly the best casting of all time. The actors who play Guy and Cody also know a thing or two about how to throw punches and kicks, making for a very watchable 30-minute martial arts flick.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] is Coming to Steam on August 20th, 2018

Back in February 2018, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] released on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. Arc System Works just announced that the Steam version will arrive on August 20th, 2018 in the West (August 21st in Japan). If the price point is the same as on consoles, the Steam version of the title should cost around $50. UNIST features a nice variety of modes, 20 playable characters, and very accessible (yet difficult to master) 2D gameplay.  (Source: Steam)

Pullum & Vulcano Officially Announced for FEXL as Free DLC + Arcade Mode / Return to Training Option

Good news for players who picked up Fighting EX Layer on PS4. Arika officially confirmed Pullum Purna and Vulcano Rosso as playable characters in FEXL (and released new HD images of both characters). Even better news... Arika plans to release both characters as FREE DLC! Release dates & further details will be revealed at EVO 2018. Arika also mentioned that Arcade Mode (Ver 0.80) and an option to return to Training Mode after connecting to an Online Match will be added!

Launch Trailer for Pocket Rumble, Indie 2D Fighter Inspired by Neo Geo Pocket Classics

Pocket Rumble is now available for download on Nintendo Switch eShop (for a reasonable $10). If you haven't heard of Pocket Rumble, it's a 2D sprite-based fighter that takes heavy inspiration from iconic titles that made their names on Neo Geo Pocket Color in 1999-2000, including SNK Vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium... a true cult classic. Nintendo recently uploaded the launch trailer for Pocket Rumble, showing off all eight of its charming 8-bit style characters.

SNK revealed the latest female combatant to enter the world of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. Mui Mui, who debuted in The King of Fighters XIV, will make her way to the mysterious mansion where an all-girls tournament is set to take place. Skullgirls 2nd Encore is Coming to Nintendo Switch

During Anime Expo 2018, Lab Zero announced that Skullgirls is on the way to Nintendo Switch. No other details or release dates were provided, but the Switch port will be the latest version of the game, Skullgirls 2nd Encore. Fighting EX Layer Announcement Near EVO '18, Arcade Mode & Other Updates Could Be Coming Soon

Similarly to SFV back in 2016, Arika's Fighting EX Layer has launched in a pretty "bare bones" state. While that doesn't stop the game from being fun (since netplay works fairly well), early adopters are hoping for the addition of features like Arcade Mode, Vs. CPU mode, and an automatic return to Training Mode after an online match. Thankfully, it looks like updates will be rolling out soon. Arika's Mihara-san recently said on Twitter that he'd like to announce something "around EVO 2018".

Fighting EX Layer Released on PS4, Launch Trailer

What began as an April Fools joke last year has evolved into a new (yet nostalgic) 2.5D fighting game. Arika has released Fighting EX Layer on PlayStation 4 as a digital title, with "Light" $39.99 and "Standard" $59.99 versions currently available for purchase. DLC color packs are also live for several characters, ranging from $4.99 to $9.99 each. To celebrate the release of FEXL, Arika uploaded a launch trailer for the game.

Blade Strangers Heads West August 28th, Release Date Announce Trailer, Game Modes Details

Nicalis announced that Blade Strangers is coming westward on August 28th, 2018 (two days before the Japanese release). The indie crossover 2D fighter will offer a traditional and streamlined 4-button control scheme, aiming to attract both casual and experienced fighting game players. Confirmed modes, include: Story, Arcade, Challenge, Survival, Versus, Online, Tutorial, Training, and more. Nicalis also uploaded a new release date announcement trailer.
