Saudi Arabian Fighter "Shaheen" Confirmed For Tekken 7, Official Character Render Shown

The concept artwork for TEKKEN 7's Saudi Arabian fighter released earlier this year has come to life just in time for 2015! The man who goes by "Shaheen" is the forth brand new character to join TEKKEN 7's roster. Katsuhiro Harada revealed his official character render tonight, and it appears his design hasn't changed too much from the original concepts! I'm sure it won't be long before we see some gameplay. King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match Coming To Playstation Network in Some Form or Another

Sony Computer Entertainment has just been listed as the publisher for King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match on Korea's ratings board. This is great news for KOF fans, as KOF2002:UM is regarded as one of the best and most competitive KOF titles to date. However, it's currently unclear if KOF2002: UM will arrive on Sony platforms as a "PS2 Classic" or a remastered, online-enabled port. A Wild Iori Appears on SNK Playmore Recruitment Page, New King of Fighters Still in Development?

SNK Playmore's Japanese employment page has been updated with a 3D render of Iori Yagami, taking the place of Kyo Kusanagi as the header banner. While SNK Playmore hasn't officially revealed or announced a new KOF yet, their most recent actions and comments strongly suggest a 2.5D/3D KOF game is still in the works. Currently, their recruitment page is seeking a game programmer, along with technical & CG designers. Hopefully something solid will be revealed in 2015.

Korean TEKKEN 7 Location Test Footage Shows Lars, Kazuya, Paul, Leo & Xiaoyu in 60 FPS

As the South Korean TEKKEN 7 location test continues, some raw gameplay footage from the latest build of T7 has popped up online. This 7-minute video (which streams in up to 60 frames per second) focuses primarily on Lars gameplay & combos, but also features several other fan-favorites in action.

Killer Instinct (Classic) on Xbox One Says Merry Xmas By Adding Online Multiplayer

Iron Galaxy Studios made the announcement on Ultra-Combo.com that classic Killer Instinct now supports online multiplayer. The Xbox One port of the arcade classic KI1 originally launched alongside the new Killer Instinct last November without online multiplayer, a feature that fans have been asking for. Players can now bring out the old school Ultra Combos, Ultimate Combos & No Mercies online until their hearts' content.

J-Stars Victory VS+ Headed To North America For PS4, PS3 & Playstation Vita

J-Stars Victory VS is an "arena fighting game" published by Bandai Namco last year for PS3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. The game features 52 characters from 32 different Shonen Jump series, including: Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and One Piece. It was just announced that J-Stars Victory VS + will be making its way to North America for PS4, PS3 & Vita featuring a new Arcade Mode and Japanese voiceovers. Check out the announce trailer.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is More Tag-Team Action Than Fighting, First Trailer

That new PS4/PS3 JoJo Bizarre Adventure game announced by Bandai Namco does feature tag-team fighting... but it appears to be more of a 1-player action game than a fighting game. As previously reported, Eyes of Heaven uses a very similar art style, in-game graphics engine, and character models to JJBA: All Star Battle. TEKKEN X Street Fighter "Base System Development is Complete" Says Harada

Katsuhiro Harada was interviewed by Korean website Insen today, regarding the development of TEKKEN 7 and TEKKEN X Street Fighter. Flying Wonkey translated a few of Harada's statements on Twitter: "Tekken x Street Fighter's base system is already finished," Harada said, "but we still have to finish Tekken 7 and its planned updates first." He continued, "SF5 comes out next fiscal year. We're still thinking up a strategy to reveal TxSF..."

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Holiday DLC Schedule, Leo Whitefang & New Colors Coming Dec. 23rd

If you're enjoying GGXrd -SIGN- on PS4 or PS3, you only have to wait a week until you can add Leo Whitefang (and other cool DLC) to your game. Aksys Games posted DLC release dates for North America on their official website. The majority of upcoming DLC arrives next Tuesday, including: Leo & his system voice, extra character colors, FREE Xmas colors, and PSN avatars. On January 15th, 2015, some additional FREE colors will be available for PS+ subscribers.

Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma "Extend" Coming Out For Xbox One, PS4 & PS3 in April 2015

Today, Arc System Works announced an updated version of Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma for Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and is even making its way to Xbox One. Set to be released April 2015, Chrono Phantasma Extend will bring the character roster up to date with the arcade version, adding Celica A. Mercury and Lambda-11. New story elements involving Kokonoe, Bullet & Kagura will also be added. Crossplay will be supported between PS4 and PS3.

Tag Battle Fighting / Action Game, JoJo Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven Announced For PS4/PS3

Yet another rumor that started on Play-Asia has proven to be true. While it's not actually titled "JJBA: All-Star Battle 2", it's speculated that JJBA: Eyes of Heaven, just announced for PS4/PS3, will be a sequel to the PS3 fighter in some form or another. This translated magazine scan reveals a very similar art style to JJBA: ASB and 2 (new) characters: Rudol von Stroheim & Diego Brando. Ultra Street Fighter IV "Wild" DLC Costumes Available Today, Screenshots of The Entire Roster

Capcom has released screenshots of the new Ultra Street Fighter IV "Wild" costumes DLC featuring the remainder of the cast. These bizarrely entertaining, animal-inspired costumes will be for sale later today on PSN & Xbox Live, following yesterday's release of the free 1.04 title update. Each costume pack in the Wild series runs $3.99 and the entire set of 44 costumes can be purchased for $19.99.

Killer Instinct's Riptor Returns in This New Trailer

After a 20-year long absence... Fan-favorite Killer Instinct veteran, Riptor, has finally made his return! Have a look at the new Riptor in this unorthodox (yet entertaining) gameplay trailer from Microsoft. Riptor becomes available this Wednesday (Dec. 17th) for owners of Killer Instinct "Ultra Edition" and will be released on Dec. 23rd for everyone else. Ohh... and Riptor's a girl, by the way. Capcom Cup '14 Street Fighter V Trailer & Stage Demo, Charlie Nash Returns, New Impressions

Capcom Cup '14 went down this weekend in San Francisco, with the best Street Fighter players from around the world in attendance. Yoshinori Ono was also present to announce that the prize pool for the entire Capcom Pro Tour '15 will be $500,000 thanks to Capcom's recent partnership with Sony. At the end of the Ultra SF4 tournament, a new SFV gameplay trailer was unveiled, which not only shows more Ryu VS Chun-Li, but teases the return of Charlie.

If you've been waiting to see more of Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN's Leo Whitefang, not only do we have his official character artwork & TFG profile online, but 15 HD screenshots starring "King" Whitefang. Early reports on Leo mention that he has a unique special ability to "step behind" his opponents, and his stage features evolving weather which goes from rain to sunset. Leo will be released on Dec. 18th in Japan for 800 yen as DLC.

Official Tekken 7 Lucky Chloe & New Gameplay Trailers Now in 1080p / 60 FPS, New Graphics Details

The new TEKKEN 7 trailers released few days ago were actually uploaded by a fan using "low quality" stream footage. Early this morning, Bandai Namco uploaded the official videos to Youtube which are much sharper (at 1080p) and have full sound quality. Harada stated that the latest build of T7 is running at 70-80% graphical capacity, and new effects will be installed in the January 2015 build. Bandai Namco Europe Releasing TTT2, SC5 & Tekken 6 Compilation in "Fighting Edition" For PS3

Bandai Namco Games Europe just announced "Fighting Edition" for Playstation 3, a compilation which includes Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur V. If you need to catch up on any of these excellent 3D fighters, or just want fresh copy of one (or two) of your favorites, this is a great value to consider. Fighting Edition will be released in Europe on December 19th, 2014. There's currently no word on this compilation being released in North America or Asia.

GGXrd -SIGN- Limited Edition Only Delayed By 1 Week

Last week, Aksys Games announced a delay for the North American Limited Edition of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- due to strikes at the port of Los Angeles & Long Beach, possibly upwards of 2 weeks. The good news is... the delay will only be 1 week, as Aksys Games stated today on their blog. While the standard edition will become available next Tuesday, fans who pre-ordered the Limited Edition can get their hands on the game on December 23rd, 2014.

"SF5 Built From The Ground Up For PS4," Capcom Contacted Sony First, 1080p 60 FPS Gameplay Video

New details regarding SF5's PS4 exclusivity have been revealed by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono and SCEA's Adam Boyes. After declaring that "PS4 is the only console SF5 will ever appear on," Boyes stated "SF5 will be built from the ground up for PlayStation." Ono also revealed that Capcom contacted Sony first regarding SF5. The SF5 gameplay video has also been upgraded to 1080p / 60FPS, giving us an even better look at the new graphics engine.

DOA5: Last Round Confirmed For Steam in Latest Trailer

"Pre-launch" Version of Tekken 7 Will Arrive in Japan Arcades in February 2015

Cyfren, a Korean gaming site, recently posted an interview with Katsuhiro Harada regarding the arcade version of TEKKEN 7. Here are some noteworthy tidbits of information revealed from the interview: #1) The "pre-launch" version of T7 will come out in Japan arcades in Feb. 2015, followed by a more complete "launch" version in March. #2) Time release characters are planned. #3) Harada stated that he wants to add a new female Korean fighter to the game. Limited Edition of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Will Be Delayed in North America

Got some minor bad news for fans who pre-ordered their limited edition of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Aksys Games declared that "due to unforeseen strikes at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, which have held up key components," the console (PS3/PS4) version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be delayed by a week or two. That JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Sequel "Rumor" Just Gained Some Steam

Last month, Play-Asia posted a rather peculiar listing for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle 2... suggesting there is a sequel in the works. While Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 haven't announced anything of the sort, ShonenGames.com recently asked Play-Asia if the listing was correct. Play-Asia's response? ..."Yes, it is real." North American Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- PS4 Demo Coming To Playstation Network Next Week

Last month, a playable PS4 demo of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- was released on the Japanese Playstation Network (exclusive to PS Plus). Let that jealousy subside... because next week, the GGXrd PS4 demo is coming to North America's PSN! According to this week's PS Blogcast, the demo will become available next Tuesday, Nov. 25th. Like the Japan version, the demo is available only to PS Plus members and will most likely include Sol & Ky as playable characters.

Killer Instinct Kan-Ra Trailer, Riptor Teased

The latest Killer Instinct trailer for the upcoming Season 2 newcomer, Kan-Ra, is now live. Feast your eyes on the mummified beast known as Kan-Ra in this intense and cinematic gameplay video. The end of the video (about 2 & 1/2 minutes long) also teases the return of fan-favorite KI veteran, Riptor, whom is expected to return in Season 2. SNK is Bringing King of Fighters XI, KOF '98: Ultimate Match & Samurai Shodown VI to PSN in Japan

Three SNK fighting games are on the way to Playstation Network Japan as PS2 classics. PSN users with a Japanese account will soon be able to pick up Samurai Shodown VI, King of Fighters XI and King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match for 1,000 yen each. As PS2 Classics, these titles can be played on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita but do not include netplay. There's currently no word on any International or North American release for these titles. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's New Male Character is "Cyborg" Raidou, Reveal Trailer & Screenshots

A couple months back, Team Ninja promised a new male character for the final installment of Dead or Alive 5. It was confirmed in this week's Famitsu that this new male character is the returning final boss of the first DOA game, Raidou. According to the storyline, Raidou was killed by Kasumi in DOA1... but apparently Raidou will be resurrected as a "cyborg" of sorts in DOA5: Last Round. Newest Season 2 Killer Instinct Character "Kan-Ra" Unveiled, Releasing November 24th

Today, Microsoft unveiled the first concept artwork for the third Killer Instinct Season 2 character, Kan-Ra. Clearly, Kan-Ra is a mummy of sorts and has quite the trollface. Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late Arrives in North America on February 24th, 2015

Under Night In-Birth came out in Japan on Playstation 3 back in July. French Bread's latest 2D offering now has an official date for North America - February 24th, 2015. The PS3 version includes 16 characters complete with their own stories inside arcade mode. The online mode will have cross-region play enabled, so North American & Japanese players can fight one another. Or modes include Training, Score Attack, Survival, Time Attack and Customize.

PS3/360 Versions of DOA5: Last Round Will Be Missing Some Features From PS4/XB1 Versions

According to Siliconera and the official DOA community Facebook page, some of the new features of DOA5: Last Round will not appear in the PS3/360 (download only) versions. This includes the 2 new stages and the new hairstyles & costume options screens. The studio's response is a bit unclear, but the gist is that they are focusing their efforts on current-gen (PS4/XB1) rather than last-gen (PS3/360). Team Ninja also blames retailers for the lack of a physical PS3/360 version.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown "Version B" Coming to Japanese Arcades in March 2015

Well, it's sure been a while since we've seen Virtua Fighter on the news page... Sega just announced on the official VF website that the Japanese arcade version of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will receive an update early next year. Injustice: Ultimate Edition Free on Playstation 4 in December Through PS Plus

Playstation.Blog announced today that Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will be free in December for PS Plus subscribers. This marks the first retail title to be released for free through PS Plus on Playstation 4. To recap, Injustice: Ultimate Edition on PS4 includes all previously released downloadable content and a visual upgrade over past versions featuring 1080p visuals while retaining 60 frames per second.

Leo Whitefang Confirmed As Guilty Gear Xrd's 2nd DLC Character, Tournament App Announced

The early speculations are true! Leo Whitefang, a friend and political rival to Ky Kiske, has been confirmed as an upcoming DLC character for the PS3/PS4 versions of GGXrd -SIGN-. Famitsu revealed this news today, along with a scan showing Leo's character art. Leo first appeared in the TGS trailer and in the game's cover art. In addition, Arc System Works announced that the PS4 version can sync with a "tournament scene support" smartphone app.

A Closer Look At Ultra SF4's "Wild" Costumes

Here's a closer look at the DLC costume concept artwork released during Capcom Pro Tour Asia, featuring some of Ultra Street Fighter IV's fighters as different animals. These individual character images are higher quality than the original teaser. The Ultra SF4 "Wild" costume pack has Ryu as a wolf, Dudley as a bulldog, Cammy as a fox, Gen as a goat, and Hakan as an octopus (because, why not?). "Virtual Reality" TEKKEN Has Been Experimented With, Says Producer Katsuhiro Harada

Siliconera has translated a recent 4Gamer article which asks Tekken producer Harada about Bandai Namco's Oculus Rift demo from Anime Expo '14. Namco is currently developing a PS4 title called Summer Lesson, which utilizes the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headset. In the article, Harada speaks about his past experience with VR devices and reveals that a virtual reality Tekken demo has been experimented with. He also didn't rule out a possible future VR Tekken title.

Mortal Kombat X Ferra/Torr Variations Images

NetherRealm Studios shared the latest MKX variations images, this time for one of the newcomers in the game, the duo of Ferra & Torr. Ferra/Torr's playstyle is described as a mix of brawling/zoning, but of course varies depending on the variation. Ferra/Torr's 3 variations are called Lackey, Vicious and Ruthless. Evolution 2015 Trailer & Dates Announced

3 months ago, the EVO '14 championship series took place in Las Vegas, bringing together fighting game competitors and fans from around the world. SRK just revealed the first information on EVO 2015, which will take place July 17th-19th at Bally's / Paris Las Vegas. The announce trailer also pretty much confirms the return on Ultra SF4, UMVC3, and at least one Smash Bros. game for EVO '15.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Animal Costume Set Incoming

During Capcom Pro Tour Asia, a new set of costume DLC was announced for Ultra Street Fighter IV. This upcoming set might be the most interesting (or possibly horrifying?) SF4 DLC to date, as the iconic cast will be transformed into... animals! New DOA5: Last Round HD Screenshots, Pricing Details, Feb. 17th, 2015 Release Date For The West

The latest screenshots of DOA5: Last Round are in! New SC: Lost Swords Costume By Fate/Extra Artist

Earlier this month, we reported that Mari Shimazaki, character designer and artist for Bayonetta and Okami, created a new costume for Taki in Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. Yet another guest artist has designed a costume for the game, Arco Wada, character designer for Fate/Extra. Check out concept art & screenshots of the new female costume (below). This Halloween themed "Mystery" armor can be collected in the game between Oct. 22nd and Nov. 5th.

DOA5: Last Round Release Set For February 2015 in Japan, Free-to-Play PS4 / Xbox One Versions

Tecmo has announced DOA5: Last Round will hit PS4, PS3, XB1 & 360 on Feb. 17th in the West and Feb. 19th in Japan. In addition, a free-to-play version has been confirmed for PS4 & Xbox One next year. Team Ninja also dropped some hints about the 2 new characters, stating that the male is a character that "fans have been eagerly awaiting for," and the brand new female is the "biggest" in the game (whatever that could mean).

Tekken 7 Planned For Feb. 2015 Arcade Release, Alternate Outfits Shown in New Screenshots

Some business meetings are going down this week over at Bandai Namco headquarters regarding their upcoming arcade titles. Of course, TEKKEN 7 is one of the major titles being planned, and early reports are pointing to a February 2015 release for the Japan arcade version. In addition, 8 new TEKKEN 7 screenshots have hit the web today, all of which showing some alternate outfits for characters, including: Asuka, Xiaoyu, Dragunov and Leo!

Killer Instinct Featured on Did You Know Gaming

Did You Know Gaming recently uploaded two videos which runs through a variety of lesser known facts about the original arcade smash hit, Killer Instinct. Did you know the Cinder infinite caused Nintendo to send out a team to manually patch all 17,000 arcade cabinets? How about some of the early names for the original cast members, including: Mr. Fist, Roxy Rave, Toxin, Meltdown, Heat Shade and Pyrotech? It's definitely a must watch for old school KI players.

New Version of Arcana Heart 3 Announced, Features One New Character & Arcana

Just last month, Examu released the "Love Max" update to Arcana Heart 3 in North America for PS3/Vita. Earlier this week, Examu announced yet another sequel, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max Six Stars(!!!!!!)... and yes, there are six exclamation points in the title. Unlike Love Max, Six Stars will feature a new character (Minori) and a new Arcana (the Arcana of Blood). Here are the first screens and artwork for the title, planned for a Winter 2014 release.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Hits PS4/PS3 December 16th

The highly anticipated reboot of the Guilty Gear franchise is all set for its epic return to consoles on December 16th. Street Fighter: Puzzle Spirits Announced For Mobile

Capcom recently announced Street Fighter: Puzzle Spirits, a mobile puzzle title featuring an assortment of Street Fighter characters and a "cutesy" art style. You might immediately think Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo or Pocket Fighter, but Puzzle Spirits is actually more like Puzzle & Dragons. Mortal Kombat X Comic Announced At NYCC '14

At New York Comic-Con '14, an official comic for Mortal Kombat X was announced by DC Comics. Like Injustice: Gods Among Us, MKX will be receiving its very own comic book series. Ed Boon stated that the comic will be "an awesome way to learn about the new characters & their relationship with the classic characters". Tekken 7 Katarina & Claudio High Quality Concept Artwork / CG Renders

This past weekend, we got to check out TEKKEN 7's Claudio and Katarina in gameplay for the first time at the Japan location tests. Bayonetta Artist Mari Shimazaki Created Taki Alternate Costume For Soul Calibur: Lost Swords

Mari Shimazaki, character designer and artist for Bayonetta and Okami, previously worked with Project Soul by creating costumes for Ivy, Tira & Leixia in Soul Calibur V. Shimazaki's latest "superhero-esk" alternate costume for Taki is apparently inspired by American comic books. Players can begin collecting items for this costume starting today (Oct. 8th) until October 22nd. Here's some concept art and screenshots of Taki's new alternate costume.

An Early Look At Beowulf in Skullgirls Encore

With Eliza now available in the PS3 & PC versions of Skullgirls Encore, the developers of the 2D indie fighter can now focus their efforts on the next DLC character, Beowulf. The second male character in the game, Beowulf's pro-wrestling-inspired moveset should mix things up nicely in Skullgirls Encore. In this new gameplay video, Mike Z demonstrates some of Beowulf's moves, abilities, and "work in progress" animations.
