If I'm being honest... I forgot about the existence of this character several times. As a big fan of the original Killer Instinct since pretty much day one, I have an appreciation for the old school character designs and roster that made the KI series stand out in the 90's. I have a
feeling that if the original devs and designers did a "mummy" character back then... he or she would've turned out to be far more interesting and cooler looking than Kan-Ra.
I just find this character bland... it's like they slapped on the
M. Bison smile onto Kan-Ra and figured it would give him personality? I don't think it worked. Trying too hard. Parts of his moveset are fairly interesting, but even some of his animations seem rushed and half-hearted. Out of all the KI 2013 newcomers, he's the least interesting in my book. I would bet money that
Kan-Ra is also one of the "least picked" characters of the entire roster. Kan-Meh.
