John, better known as (The) Homelander, originated in the Dynamite Entertainment comic book series The Boys and its television series adaptation. Homelander is a sociopath and leader of the Seven who used his immense power to and control his fellow superheroes through fear. He is the primary target of the CIA's anti-superhero strike team the Boys. Homelander is a parody of famous superhero and political figures, Homelander is a narcissistic, psychotic megalomaniac with a God complex that cares little for the people and ideologies he has sworn to uphold and protect. Homelander made his fighting game debut as a guest character in Mortal Kombat 1.
