TFG Banner Contest 2011

Best "TFG" Banner 2011

By D-One

         D-ONE WINS:

  • One $60 GameStop gift card.

  • 1-year TFG Fight Club Membership.

  • A personalized artwork by JET3000 - TFG's Featured Artist will draw any fighting game character of your choice, whom will be portraying an "emotion" of your choice. A copy of the artwork will be signed by JET3000, professionally framed, and mailed to you!

D-one's winning banner highlights the epic combination of Ryu and Kazuya in celebration of the highly anticipated upcoming title, Street Fighter X Tekken. The use of "magenta" in this banner was a risky choice, but it works... and makes sense since red + blue + Ryu + Kazuya + Hype = ...Magenta (obviously). D-One also submitted a badass Street Fighter Alpha 3 themed banner (in addition to a cool Virtua Fighter 5 themed banner) that scored very highly, nearly taking 1st place itself.

Roy Droog's Genjuro themed banner is a winner for obvious reasons. Simple, stylish, and classy... plus you simply can't go wrong with a badass samurai like Genjuro. Roy also contributed a variety of other sleek banners that scored highly.

There's always a ton of stuff going on in Derrick's Banners, and his latest TFG banners do not disappoint. His wildly flashy, in-your-face, and sometimes hilarious banners definitely speak for themselves. Don't miss his awesome "retro" banners featuring Match of the Millennium style sprites and a random cameo by... Zack Rider? Epic stuff as always.

Second Runner-up 2011

By Kiyotaka Asahi

         KIYOTAKA WINS:

  • 1-year TFG Fight Club Membership.

As a huge Tekken fan, I fell in love with Kiyotaka's awesome Tekken Tag Tournament 2 themed TFG banner the first time I saw it. It's ultra sleek, looks great on a variety of pages on the website, and one of my personal favorites this year! His Alisa Boskonovitch "Updates" banner is also pretty epic.

Create-a-Banner 2011 Guidelines:

1.
Banners should be no larger than 600 X 250 pixels! Otherwise, any size or shape is acceptable. Use of official fighting game artwork for banners is recommended. Original artwork is also acceptable.

2.
Banners should read "The Fighter's Generation" or "TFG," or can be created for any of the website's various sections such as "Characters, Games, Funnies, Features, News, etc." Using the the text "TFG" or "The Fighter's Generation" on all banners is highly recommended but not required. Also feel free to include the web address on any banner... "FightersGeneration.com". Also be sure to double check your spelling and use exciting fonts!

3.
Animated banners are also accepted! Just keep the animations relatively short & sweet. Remember, the smaller & sleeker = the better.

4.
The theme of this year's contest will simply be "transparencies". Create a banner with transparent edges so that the website's background can still be seen (as demonstrated below) and be creative! If you don't know how to use transparencies or simply don't want to, feel free to create a classic banner as well. You don't necessarily have to use transparencies to win, but it will increase your chances of winning this year.

5.
This year, there will be TWO 1st place winners! One 1st place prize for "Best TFG Banner" and one 1st place prize for "Best TFG Section Banner". Additionally, there will be an "Overall Runner-up" winner. Without further adieu, here are this year's prizes!

6. There's no limit to how many banners you can enter into the contest. Increase your chances of winning and create as many awesome banners as you can conjure up... but remember, quality always beats quantity. Please email all banner entries HERE
