Mortal Kombat II Movie Second Trailer

Warner Bros. released a new trailer for New Line Cinema's Mortal Kombat II coming to theaters and IMAX in North America on May 8th, 2026. Building upon the foundation of the 2021 reboot, which sought to translate the martial arts action, violence, and confusing lore of the Midway and NetherRealm video game series into a modern film format, this sequel appears to pivot toward a more expansive, high-stakes narrative. While the previous installment focused on the awakening of Earthrealm's champions, the new film focuses on the legendary tournament escalating into a full-scale war against the dark rule of Shao Kahn.

Karl Urban stars as Johnny Cage, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion. Other confirmed actors include Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, with Chin Han, and Joe Taslim as Bi-Han. The film's director is Simon McQuoid, returning for the sequel to the 2021 film. Stay tuned on The Fighters Generation for continued coverage.
