In the wake of COVID-19, fighting game competitions are adapting from large venues to online. During
the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream, Bandai Namco announced official "Online Challenge" events for both TEKKEN 7 and SoulCalibur VI. There are a total of 11 official online competitions announced for TEKKEN 7 so far, the first "pre-event" for North America kicking off in just two weeks on
August 15th-16th
(registration is open on the
TEKKEN World Tour official site). The 1st place winner for each region will take home $500 USD, with 2nd and 3rd taking home $300 and $200, respectively. Additionally, the
SoulCalibur World Tour website has 3 official tournaments listed so far, taking place this October and November.
