BIO:

The main protagonist of the storyline of Samurai Shodown 64, Asura fell in love with Shiki and they had one daughter (Mikoto). He is in a long-running conflict with Yuga, who wreaks havoc in order to bring about "the unification of this world and the Netherworld". Yuga imprisoned Asura in the Netherworld and he subsequently escapes when it is defeated during the events of Samurai Shodown 64. When he confronts Yuga, his clone, Shadow Asura, assists him in slaying the fiend. They fuse themselves together so that his clone could survive.

Later, in Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, Asura is revealed to be a shade of the real Asura. Yuda was the product of Asura merging with "Shadow Asura". His clone was the one who retained the original's memories; this Asura only kept the original's abilities and his animosity for Yuga.

Like most people in the West, I never got around to playing the SS64 games. However, I always thought Asura's design was totally badass and fitting for the series! Asura is kind of like an evil samurai with summoning abilities mixed with... Marilyn Manson. >:) Asura also makes a badass appearance in the Samurai Shodown Asura Zanmaden OVA (which is a must-watch for any Samurai Shodown fan).

Thankfully, SNK brought Asra to NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, finally giving fans of the design a chance to actually use him in a game! lol. Asura is definitely of the most badass characters I've seen from SNK in a long while. Although his fighting style in NGBC can be a bit "cheap" at times, Asura definitely has style... and a little something called "badass factor".
