BIO:

Simon Belmont is the main protagonist in nine Castlevania installments. Simon's design and appearance has changed significantly from game to game. At the age of six, his parents were murdered by the forces of Count Dracula, and Simon was lucky to escape with his own life. Lost and alone, he was found in the forest by some of the mountain people, taken in and raised amongst them. However he never forgot what had happened to his parents and vowed to deliver vengeance one day upon those responsible. He trained hard and was extremely gifted in combat, yet life was hard for young Simon growing up. Always an outcast amongst the tribe, he developed a strong will and stubborn attitude that would always boil over into rage, and men soon came to fear him and his prowess in the arts of war. He fiercely protected a fragment of mirror given to him by his father and always wore it around his neck for safekeeping.

During the life of Simon Belmont, the Belmont name was well known and quite famous, making Simon famous as well. When the Dracula once again awoke in 1691 and started terrorizing the people of Transylvania, they sought out Simon, who was promptly on the case. Simon would fulfill the Belmont legacy once again, defeating Dracula. However, Dracula was not one to just up and admit defeat. Instead, this time he sacrificed an early resurrection and placed a curse on Simon. By having his minions take his body parts and hide them all over Transylvania, he believed and hoped that Simon could not find them all in time and the curse would overtake him and the Belmont family lineage would succumb. However, that did not happen, as Simon would be successful in locating all the body parts to resurrect Dracula and promptly defeating him, thus lifting the curse.

His Castlevania: Judgment storyline is as follows: One fateful night a year later, he entered a dark forest while pursuing the last of Dracula's minions. However, he soon found himself in a strange place and greeted by a time traveler who called himself Aeon. Aeon explained that he had entered a time rift, which is where he would find what he desired. Confused, but recognizing that there was a strange air to the place, Simon decided he had no choice but to believe him and took a series of trials, starting with a test battle with Aeon. These trials allowed him to test his skills against heroes from many different time periods, including the legendary three warriors (Alucard, Sypha, and Grant) he had learned about as a child. After defeating these warriors, he finally had a chance to face off against his ancestor Trevor Belmont himself. By defeating him, who also wielded the Vampire Killer, Simon was finally convinced that his power was more than just the whip. He then returned to his normal era.

First off, Castlevania IV is one of my all time favorite classic games... I played the hell out of it on SNES back in the day. I loved whipping those skeletons into pieces... free whip control mechanics FTW. XD. Anyway, the evolution of Simon's design sure is interesting... he's a few "different" designs when it comes down to it.

Simon's "gothed-out" look in Castlevania Judgment isn't terrible (though he could have done without the shorts). He definitely looks very reminiscent of Light Yagami from Death Note (too much if you ask me). In the end, I like the "darker" Simon Belmont designs... I guess going through all those evil monster-infested castles really catches up with you in the end. He sure doesn't look like a typical good guy anymore, which is pretty cool I might add.
