Chae Lim is a student of Kim Kap Hwan's and began learning Tae Kwon Do at the age of four. She has been called Kim's secret weapon for the King of Fighters tournaments. The Maximum Impact tournament marks her first professional debut. Though she seems to inherit Kim's seriousness in battle, she reverts to being a normal girl when she takes off her gloves and enjoys being with her friends on her spare time. Apart from being a Tae Kwon Do fighter, she also designs clothes. Kim gave her special fighting gloves to use in the tournament. Chae's nickname is "The Taekwondo Zephyr".

Chae Lim is yet another cool representation of TaeKwonDo in the fighting game realm. As a TaeKwonDo master myself, I naturally like this design. From an unbiased point of view, Chae Lim has a semi-decent fighting style. They gave her some good kicks, but she lacks traditional TKD hand strikes! Hwoarang and Baek could teach her a few... heh. As one of the few KOF characters that represent a martial art, she's not a bad design. She's one of the cooler designs from the Maximum Impact series, but lacks a bit of substance.
