A lonely girl of
mysterious origins, even to herself, Mina had a sentimental connection
to the village she lived in, though she didn't talk to the people that
much. After going demon hunting for a while, she returned to find her village
totally destroyed, and everyone slaughtered. The only survivor was her
pet, Chample, who was the only person she cared about.
Upon traveling to find the ones who destroyed
her village, she learns about an evil presence in Japan. She hunts it down,
looking for answers.
She was born with
a strong spiritual power. Due to this, she was separated from her family
and was raised to be a Kaminchu (a goddess). But because her spiritual powers
were so strong, she was feared by her own villagers and became the outcast
of her village. Slowly and slowly, she had forgotten how to smile. Her
only friend was her pet Chample.
Apparently, Champuru
was the one who destroyed her village. She killed Chample to avenge the
death of her villagers but also killed herself

Until Mina's arrival, the Samurai Shodown
series never included an archer. Since the bow & arrow was a staple weapon in Japan during the time of the samurai, it only made sense to finally have a proper archer in the
series. I was excited about SSV when I first saw Mina. She's definitely one of the best newcomers of SSV / SSV Special. Aesthetically, she's a very pretty design and reminds me of a sexy female elf. Her hairstyle is a bit over the top... but her look seems to fit into the series quite well. Gameplay-wise, she's actually pretty
fun to use... though a bit cheap and overpowered (near broken) in the original SSV.
Mina would've been a fine design by herself, but for some reason the devs decided to have a cutesy / strange / Pokemon-like creature follow her around. (My original thought: "Uhh, maybe I change my mind about Mina." lol. Champuru is its
name... and no, it's NOT
cute. Don't let it fool you, it's a creepy-alien-baby that'll stab
you in the back when you're not looking... and it destroys villages
(according to her official story). Yeah, ya'll can keep Champururu-ru. lol. In fairness, Champuru actually looks better in Samurai Shodown (2019).
