Zappa

BIO:

Zappa is just a typical Joe who sadly happens to be possessed by evil spirits. Due to his origins, Zappa lacks basic combat skills, but when the spirits inside are awakened he can unleash incomprehensible destructive powers. His inner demons are legion, and when he's pushed far enough Zappa summons up the most evil and most vile spirit of all. Don't make him angry! You won't like him when he's angry! Zappa searches for Faust to relieve him of his terrible affliction.

Zappa is definitely one of the most insane fighting game characters of all time. When Zappa is on the screen... you know you're playing Guilty Gear. No other game like it. The roster GGXX is unpredictable in its uniqueness and levels the designers will go to. Zappa is "one of the weird ones" on a roster that already has some very weird-yet-somehow-cool designs. There are perhaps some homoerotic JoJo's Bizarre Adventure inspirations seen here, Dio also wears a heart on his forehead. Weird? Weird. In GGXX, Zappa's story mode appearances are particularly memorable and entertaining.

Visually, his skin-tight top and poofy pants are a bit strange, but somehow works with his animation. Zappa almost seems like concept art that nearly didn't make it to the final game. LOL. I'm glad he did. The large summon knight that can fight alongside him might be my favorite part of the design, outside of the ridiculous inhuman animation that only Arc System Works was ballsy enough to attempt.
