Good Lord. Looks like it's time to retire, Sagat... you
had a good run. Marisa is a monster of a physical specimen and naturally inflicts terror and intimidation
on her opponents. I thought only a
character like this existed in fan fiction / fan art... not an actual game (Street
Fighter no less). 0__o Her body type isn't completely
"unbelievable" either, as there are some heavily built MMA women out
there. Her unique proportions make her a natural fit for the series. Marisa also
joins the "helmet hair" club of Street Fighter,
currently run by president of the club, Hakan.
Marisa is a powerhouse fighter with MMA / other martial arts inspirations in her
moveset. Her ability to "charge up" some of her normal moves is cool
and makes her feel like a unique character. Overall, I expected to like her less... but she's a sharp and
impressive design onscreen. She also has a charming and funny personality /
voice. Whether she floats your boat or not, props to Capcom for focusing on "martial arts" again in SF6.
On a side note, the Marisa Vs. Zangief
match-up is surely an entertaining one.
