Street Fighter V Concept Artwork & Bios For SFEX's Cycloids, Ace & More Support Characters

Capcom just finished up the remainder of the Street Fighter EX characters in their latest SFV concept artwork post on the CFN Portal, featuring none other than Cycloid Beta, Cycloid Gamma and Ace. Other new profiles include Sakura's brother (Tsukushi), Sakura's best friend (Kei), Yun's girlfriend (Hoimei), Yang's girlfriend (Shaomei) and several others! Intro: First up, we have the wireframe warrior who debuted in 1997's EX Plus, Cycloid Gamma!

Private Nakagawa: It had originally been produced for Shadaloo as a devastating weapon. Thankfully, with the help of Barba, who is now affiliated with Shadaloo (forcefully), it's been promoting our plans for world domination. Since the final adjustments had been halted and refused by Mr. Barba, Shadaloo's Technology Department took the initiative to finish it. During the occasional times that it runs away, it adds to its collection of skills, which makes it an excellent fighter. It's orange wireframe-ish look is certainly fashionable.

Huh, oh, it escaped! Oh dear, wait a second. This just in, I just received word from our Senior correspondent!

NIN: For some reason, I wanted a character which gave off a strange vibe, and thus it was created. Naturally, at first it was just a wireframe and merely a representation of textures, but the lines were being magnified as the camera came in for a close up. Overall, I think it was rough. The manner in which we drew the lines directly, eventually that became its current look. Doctrine also used similar wires which resulted in the same blunder, so I remember deciding to draw the lines.

Next, we have it's more humanoid-looking counterpart, which also debuted in EX Plus, Cycloid Beta!

Private Nakagawa: I don't know where this mysterious weapon came from. It seems composed of a translucent pale blue material. I wonder if it's cold to the touch.

Intro: A mysterious weapon whose origins are unknown. It appears to have been created using a semi-transparent blue-ish material. I wonder if it's cold to the touch?

Bio: A mysterious weapon that seems to be pursuing the previously covered escaped Cycloid γ weapon. It appears to be made to stop the wild Cycloid γ. Besides that, it's a complete mystery. It does seem to be learning fighting techniques from other fighters, much like Cycloid γ does...

Nin Comments: Just like with Cycloid γ, we were going for a mysterious feeling. It was just around this time that programming things with shine-reflective or mirror-like materials had become a real fad. We wanted to include something like that in Street Fighter EX as well, but we didn't quite have time, so we released it like this, the best we could do with the limited time. We always felt that we'd have liked to develop this character further with interesting facial expressions and such, sometime in the future.

Finally, we have the last playable EX Character, and the only New Challenger to appear in EX3, the cyborg with a fully-customizable fighting style: Ace!

Private Nakagawa: Apparently, a spy has infiltrated our Shadaloo base and has accomplished his mission in securing the confidential blueprints of the "weapon." If he understands it, then he's discovered a lot!

Private Nakagawa: The man who is rumored to be a talented and competent agent. He has a device implanted in his spine which can analyze cards that hold data on fighting skills, and by loading them, he can learn every type of mixed martial art, holding the ability to possibly master them all.

NIN: He's able to be edited with a variety of techniques. In fact, there was a grand scheme, I had wanted to add him into a side-scrolling action mode.

Examples of the obstacles were:

Darun's Indra Bahsi A, B, C due to the continuous jumping up and down you could slip out of it conveniently.
Doctrine's wire being swung like a pendulum. It would disconnect whenever the opponent was on the opposite side of it, and with good timing, you could slip through it.

We could've made edits according to the situations needed and continued to go ahead with the project. But it was just a dream, no matter how irrational the decision the project was abandoned during production.

Intro: This time, we've just got a regular student. A wonderful young lady with long hair. She doesn't fight. Oh, and she happens to be Sakura Kasugano's best friend.

Bio: She's a warm person who does all she can to protect her best friend, who's obsessed with Street Fighting. Her grades are neither good nor bad. But, she has a wonderful memory and will never forget the name or face of any person she's met even once. She collects octopus alien-themed merchandise.

Next up, we have another member of the Glade of Ninjas, who appeared in Ibuki's Street Fighter III: Third Strike intro, holding a punching bag, Yūta Homura! You can see an in-game image of him below.

Private Nakagawa: His name is read as "Yūta Homura." He's affiliated with the same shinobi village as Ibuki.

Private Nakagawa: A ninja who is affiliated with the shinobi village. He's a passionate young man who aspires to open his own store. He trains alongside Ibuki and Sarai Kurosawa. His taijutsu is great, but his ninjutsu is horribly weak. He's talented at playing beat 'em up games. Apparently, it's a piece of cake for him to clear a whole game with Jennety using one coin. (Jennety: aka Mack the Knife, aka Mummy Commando from the Captain Commando series.)

Now, we present Sakura's little brother, Tsukishi Kasugano!

Private Nakagawa: Kasugano... ? Apparently, this is the brother of that Sakura girl. He too can probably shoot Hadokens and stuff just by watching and imitating them. Huh, he's just an ordinary boy? Great that's good to know.

Intro: Kasugano... ? Yes, it's the little brother of Sakura. I wonder if he's also capable of firing Hadouken just from seeing other people do it... Hm? He's just a regular young boy? Oh, good, good.

Bio: He's a pure young boy who loves games. He doesn't seem to enjoy moving his body much. During Street Fighter Alpha 3, he was obsessed with the fighting RPG "Ryuken Gouki" and barely went outside. Now, he's obsessed with the CPSP2-developed fighting RPG "Ryuken Gouki Side-Story: Chapter of the Roar". He's actually very talented at drawing, and has won prizes for his art at school.

Here he is at home playing the Fighting RPG "Ryuken Tsuyoshiki" ["Dragon Punch Adamant Tale"] from Sakura's SFA2 stage.

Private Nakagawa: Now we head back to SFIII to take a look at the hot-blooded tsundere tomboy, girlfriend of Yun, Hoimei!

Intro: This girl is a childhood friend of Yun and Yang. She helps out at her father's fruit and vegetable shop. She has a younger sister named Shaomei.

Bio: She works at a vegetable and fruit shop close to the restaurant Yun and Yang's grandfather runs. She dislikes strong-willed people who have become misguided. Because of that trait, she often finds herself in trouble. It seems she's trying to get into the good graces of her childhood friend Yun, in particular.

Finally, we have her sister, and Yang's girlfriend, Shaomei!

Private Nakagawa: A girl who knew Yun and Yang since childhood. Younger sister of Hoimei. She is a quiet but reliable girl.

Bio: Contrary to her vigorous sister, she is a quiet girl. But, she has a strong heart and works hard. She firmly supported her sister when she was worried about Yun and Yang during their travels.

Private Nakagawa: She appears docile and quiet, unlike her active and lively sister. But she is actually someone who really battles on when needed. It seems she has a kindlier feeling towards Yang.

Intro: A pretty easy-going guy who works at the Kanzuki Family estate. On the Kanzuki Estate stage, he can get a bit too excited and get whacked over the head with a silver tray by one of the maids.

Bio: Alongside Shibasaki, he is one of the butlers working for Karin Kanzuki. During his school years, he was attached to the Judo club. He's actually a specialist at cooking food, and sometimes shows off his skill in the Kanzuki family kitchen. His specialty is Chawanmushi. He gets along well with Birdie.

Intro: Just from a sunburn, she gains access to more moves and her Hadouken becomes a beam. I guess I should go to the tanning salon...

Bio: Sakura trained with Ryu during her summer holiday. She learned a bunch of new techniques, and even mastered a move which delivers a thousand blows in one instant. The training was done by beaches in souther countries, so she got quite the tan, huh. It's not like she got engulfed by a Satsui no something, or anything like that.I guess it's all about diligence...
