G-Mantle
("G" stands for "game") is a mysterious character who
appears in several SNK games and advertisements. He was originally used as a mascot for Neo
Geo before the likes of Terry Bogard and
Kyo
Kusanagi. He makes cameo appearances in a wide variety of SNK games, including: Blue's Journey, Cyber-Lip, The Super Spy, Burning Fight,
Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 3, Robo Army, King of The Monsters 2, KOF '97, KOF XI,
KOF '94: Rebout and KOF '98: Ultimate Match.
In Card Fighters Clash, G-Mantle AKA "The Mask" is a mysterious card-fighter
who shows up
in random locations within card battle arenas to battle the player and holds
many rare cards. He is
never heard talking, only laughing.

G-Mantle is
probably one of the least-known and most mysterious SNK / NeoGeo characters. You may
or may not have seen him make cameo appearances in various SNK advertisements and games.
My first time seeing the character was in SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash,
where "The
Mask" was a pretty cool and mysterious opponent you could run into in
various locations. He was a key opponent to find for earning rare and powerful cards in the
game. As a lover and competitive player of arguably the best ever NEOGEO Pocket
game, Card Fighters Clash, I was always happy to be surprised to find the
whimsical Mr. Mask randomly showing up.
G-Mantle's appearance as
a striker in The King of
Fighters 2000 was unexpected, but a pretty cool tribute to old school
SNK fans who remember this weird character! Sadly, his striker ability in KOF
2000 wasn't very strong.
