BIO:

Orphaned at a young age, Venom was taken under the wing of a group of assassins known as the Assassins Guild. As an assassin, he excelled in all areas, but he showed a reluctance to kill. His sensibilities hindered his growth as an assassin. Time passed as he pondered the meaning of his existence. Before long, the organization saw him as worthless and ordered him to be executed. Prior to his execution, Zato, the new leader of the organization, recognized Venom's talent and spared his life. Venom pledged his loyalty to Zato out of deep gratitude for saving his life and giving him his raison d'etre. Zato soon fell out of favor, and rumors of his disloyalty abounded. Venom, who had served as Zato's right-hand man for many years, knew that this slander was not true. But, the evidence of it was very strong. While doubts are rising, Venom receives information regarding someone thought to be Zato.

In Guilty Gear X, Zato-1 was missing, and Venom sets off to find his master. Eventually, he finds Zato-1, but Eddie has almost taken complete control of Zato-1. In one ending, Venom defeats Eddie, but Zato seems to be inert, if not catatonic. In the other ending, Venom feigns defeat to lure Eddie into his own body, whereupon he reveals his trickery to Eddie and indicates that he will sacrifice himself to kill Eddie and save Zato.

During the time of Guilty Gear XX,
Slayer is cutting his ties with the Assassins Guild. Angry at the perceived disrespect for Zato-1's authority as leader of the Guild (albeit absent authority), Venom trains himself to eventually challenge Slayer, defending all that is left of Zato. In one of his endings, Venom defeats Slayer, although, as Slayer wryly points out, Venom is still not strong enough to destroy him. He then locks Slayer in an iron coffin. In another ending, Venom is distracted by a chance encounter with Eddie and chases him. Soon after fighting and defeating Eddie, he collapses and dies. In his third ending, he also meets Eddie by accident, but when he finds him, Millia Rage has already fought and won, and killed Zato as well. Enraged, Venom kills Millia, then pledges his loyalty and life to Zato's soul.

In GGXX Accent Core, Venom can't seem to find any joy in his work, despite saving the Guild back from the edge of destruction. He sets out to find Millia so he may stop having nightmares about Zato. In one of his endings, he spares Millia after deciding her death would accomplish nothing, and turns his attention to the Post-War Administration Bureau, if only for the sake of picking a fight. In the other, he kills Millia and, still feeling empty and unhappy, destroys all feelings he had for Zato. He disbands the Guild and becomes a traveling pool player. Upon his travels, he meets an orphaned boy named Eddie, whose village had just burned down. After confirming he had nowhere to go, Venom adopts him and takes him on his journeys.

Venom is easily one of the coolest and most original designs of the early Guilty Gear X series. His attire, weapon, and fighting style are particularly original in the fighting game universe... he's definitely not ripping off anyone else's style, that's for sure. Fighting with a pool cue hasn't been done before in a fighting game, and is a cool idea for a weapon (although... I personally had that idea before Venom came around, especially since I grew up with a pool table in my house. lol).

Venom's fighting style is innovative and also fun to use in the game. He's got some crazy tricks up his sleeves... and the fact that he can turn every character the game into a billiard ball is hilariously awesome. I was hoping they changed up his design a bit more in the GGXrd series. I think she should fight in his "intro suit jacket".  In any case, Venom is a memorable GGX character and the series just wouldn't be the same without him.
