PART 5

Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact Giant Impact poster & Godzilla vs. Kong at Atami Castle

The original Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact promotional poster featuring "giant-sized" Hugo versus Urien is a direct reference to the movie King Kong vs. Godzilla at Atami Castle. The screaming characters in the foreground also represent the various screaming people in Kaiju posters over the years.

M. Bison & Washizaki

Washizaki from the manga, Riki-Oh (AKA The Story of Ricky) was confirmed to be the original inspiration behind M. Bison's character design (and even some of the original Street Fighter II: World Warrior artwork). As far as evil dictators go... they tend to look similar and show familiar personality traits.

M. Bison & Kato

Kato from the supernatural/dark fantasy anime, Doomed Megalopolis, and M. Bison from Street Fighter 2 are two villains with some obvious similarities and a comparable fashion sense. The way M. Bison was drawn in the above artwork was 100% inspired by the cover of Doomed Megalopolis.

M. Bison & Colonel Red

Noticing a trend here aren't you? This time, it seems M. Bison inspired the creators of Gunstar Heroes when they were designing the main boss, Colonel Red. Well golly gee, M. Bison sure did inspire a ton of characters... and we're not done either!

M. Bison & "The Leader"

Alright... I just one more Bison look-alike and then we're done (hopefully)! Behold... the all mighty "The Leader" from Capcom's Bionic Commando: Rearmed. It's also rare we get to enjoy both characters drawn by the legendary Toshiaki Mori (Shinkiro)!

Lt. Guile & Lt. Surge

Another Guile! *In best Jean Claude Van Damme voice* "Look at this Guile wannabe." Lt. Surge's outfit from Pokemon Soul Silver is nearly a replica's of Lt. Guile's. He even has the shades. He even does the pose. However, I doubt he can throw Sonic Booms. (Definitely a Guile cosplayer who doesn't go to the gym.)

Dr. Manhattan & Seth

Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen & Seth from Street Fighter IV are eerily similar. They both share blue-ish skin color, they prefer being nearly naked most of the time, and both are ridiculously powerful beings. It's also not uncommon to see both of these guys dressed up in suits! Was Capcom inspired by Watchmen? Seth's design spawned from Gill, who's an arguably different-looking character, but it's still possible...
