Capcom Plans To "Reaffirm
Their Presence" in The Fighting Genre in 2014

In an interview with 4Gamer,
Capcom's Kazunori Sugiura declared that the company plans on "reaffirming
their presence" in the fighting genre next year. Whether Sugiura-san is
referring to Ultra SF4 or a brand new title is unknown. Sugiura-san added
that there are many "unannounced games" that will surprise fans in
2014. Will we see Darkstalkers 4 in 2014? New HD Online remakes? Or
possibly something entirely new? We'll see in 2014!

is a Japanese multiplayer battle arena (or MOBA) game from Sega. The game has

After unlocking Eliza
(and her 2 alt. costumes), LevelUpYourGame has given the lowdown on the new
Tekken Revolution character. First off, to unlock Eliza you'll have to earn
20,000 Blood Seals by playing the game's various modes. The next 70,000 Blood
Seals unlocks Eliza's Bikini Costumes, and finally, the 70,000 Blood Seals after
that unlocks her "big boobs" costume. LUYG uploaded a short video

Encore to Feature "Typing Mode"

When Skullgirls
re-releases on PSN & XBL as Skullgirls Encore, the game will feature
a new mode called "The Typing of Skullgirls". This offline mode
requires players to correctly type a word on screen after performing a super
move. If typed correctly, the super move will do 1.5 more damage, while failing
to type correctly will result in negative 10% damage. Finally, if the the word
is partially correct, damage will be normal.

Calibur: Lost Swords Delayed to 2014

The free-to-play 1-player
fighting game Soul Calibur: Lost Swords was originally scheduled to be
released by the end of 2013. Today, Namco Bandai stated that in order to
"improve the quality of the game" they've pushed the release date back
to sometime in 2014. After playing the beta version myself, I'd say this is
probably a good thing. ;)

PSN Delisting Pushed to Dec. 31st, Encore Re-Release Scheduled for Jan.

A bit of news on the
state of Skullgirls... The temporary delisting on the PSN version was
pushed back to Dec. 31st, matching the XBL date. In addition to this news, Lab
Zero announced that Skullgirls will be reborn as "Skullgirls
Encore" when it returns sometime in January 2014. The transition to the
new version will work differently depending on your console and region, as Lab
Zero explains in detail on their website.

Namco announced some
release date info on Eliza via Tekken
Official and Facebook.
The sexy vampire girl hits TR in Europe Dec. 18th, Japan on Dec. 19th and
North America on Jan. 7th. Players will have to collect 20,000 "Blood
Contract Marks" to unlock Eliza, which are earned the same way as Gift
Points. In addition, Bob will join the roster on Dec. 24th in Japan (which
possibly equates to Dec. 23rd for EU and Jan. 7th-14th for NA).

Unity announced (rather suddenly) that the digital versions of MVC2
and Ultimate MVC3 (along with all DLC content) are going to be
removed from PSN & XBL. The final days to pick up the DLC are:
12/7 (NA PSN), 12/19 (EU PSN) and 12/26 (XBL). The good news? Currently you can
pick up MVC2 at 50%-85% off on PSN (75% off on XBL). UMVC3 on XBL
is also 83% off (only $5.09), and all DLC is discounted across the board.

Street Fighter IV - New Trailer, Screenshots & Game Modes Announced

Over the weekend, Capcom
released some new tidbits on their upcoming update to SSF4:
AE, Ultra Street Fighter 4. First off, the new
trailer highlights the new gameplay mechanics and reveals Online Training
Mode and Team Battle Mode. In addition, Capcom released 12 new
"official" screenshots for the game. Finally, Yoshinori Ono stated
that the unannounced fifth new character is female, but gave no further details.

This evening, Namco
released a trailer for Eliza,
the first completely new character who will debut in Tekken Revolution! A
female vampire, Eliza appears to suffer from some sort of narcolepsy, and also
has a "King of Fighters style" projectile attack. Check out the

Famitsu confirmed that Eliza will become playable in Tekken Revolution in Japan on

Assassin's Fist Facebook
page recently revealed some new photos
from the set. Joey Ansah, one of the directors, also explained that the visual
FX are being done in a "practical" style in order to bring Hadoukens
to life, blending them seamlessly with the live action. The musical score &
sound design is also in the final stages, and the composers are aiming to
"break the trend" of forgettable movie soundtracks.

Konami Requests Skullgirls
Removal From PSN/XBL

Lab Zero, the creators of
Skullgirls, have just cut ties with Konami, as the publisher of the
console versions asked Sony and Microsoft to remove the game from PSN & XBL.
The de-listing will happen on Dec. 31st on both systems. Lab Zero is looking to find new publishers for the game (which would result in a
new build of the game). Good news is: If you own Skullgirls on PSN/XBL,
it will not be removed from your system.

Today, Capcom
Unity gave some new information on the release date of Ultra Street
Fighter IV. Sticking to their strategy of releasing USF4 before EVO
'14, Capcom will launch the digital upgrade in early June for $14.99 on PS3
& 360. The digital upgrade for PC (also $14.99) and the PS3 & 360 retail
version and full digital bundle will follow in August 2014 for $39.99. The
retail & full bundle version includes all previously-released costumes.

Today we've got some new
details on P4U's new character, Sho Minazuki (as well as new screenshots).
There are actually 2 different versions of Sho. In the Japanese version, the
first "Sho Minazuki" is written in kanji, and the other is written in
katakana. One is currently playable in the arcade version, the other will be
time released on Dec. 19th. The latter has a different moveset and uses a
persona called Tsukiyomi.

Instinct (2013) Easter Egg: Classic Stage Music "Remixes" Found
in-Game

Musical easter eggs have
been found in Killer Instinct for Xbox One. When two players remain idle
on a stage, remixed versions of classic KI stage music (or tracks from
the Killer Cuts album) will begin to play. The music will return to
normal as soon as either player resumes movement. Acidglow put together a video

uploaded this morning, here's a really cool live action fan
film based on Street Fighter Alpha. Just under 6 minutes long, the
short film revolves around the most memorable match-up from the original SFA,
Ryu VS Sagat. On a side note: The creator of this film, Jason Yonnick (whom sent

Capcom has given a little
more clarity concerning their release date for Ultra Street Fighter IV.
The SF4 update will be coming to Japan arcades in April 2014, followed by
console release in North America & Europe later on. While no specifics were
given, Combofiend stated that Ultra SF4 will hit consoles sometime before
EVO '14 (July). In addition, 4 new screenshots featuring the new characters were
added to TFG's USF4 preview

HD Online arriving on Playstation Network and Xbox Live next week, Namco
Bandai released a new launch
trailer titled "Legends Never Die". The trailer shows mostly
cinematics and gameplay footage, including Heihachi Mishima squaring off against
Spawn (which was never possible before HD Online). SC2: HD Online
hits PSN on November 19th and XBL on November 20th.

Shadow Jago Revealed in Killer

During their most recent
stream, Microsoft revealed "Shadow
Jago" in KI3. Besides his ghostly appearance, some of his
special moves will differ from Jago's (alt. effects & colors, such as a dark
purple fireball). His voice will also be darker sounding. Currently, he fights
exactly the same as Jago, but the dev-team plans to differentiate him more in
the future. Players that pick up the XBL Gold Day-1 Edition will have access to
Shadow Jago.

today with some interesting 3D character renders. The characters shown are
Nakoruru, Haohmaru, Terry, Geese and Alice. This image appears to be related to
the job
openings announcement from earlier this year. "Rumors" suggest
that new 3D KOF and Samurai Shodown games are in the making, but
it's also possible this could be related to new Pachinko games.

Alive 5: Ultimate in Magazine Scan

Tecmo Koei revealed a new
character, Marie Rose, whom will appear in the arcade version of Dead or Alive
5: Ultimate. Here's a magazine
scan that shows some screenshots of Marie Rose and supplies the first details
on the character. Marie Rose is the "smallest" character in the game and
relies on her speed in battle. As you can see from the screenshots, she also
appears to have a Gothic Lolita fashion style. She is voiced by Mai Aizawa.

Microsoft announced some
new details regarding the 2 most recently confirmed characters in Killer
Instinct (2013), Spinal and Fulgore. Spinal will be the first character
released after launch (Nov. 22nd) and becomes playable in January 2014. Fulgore
will follow in March. Also, Double Helix stated that KI3 will be without
a traditional arcade mode (or story mode) at launch. These modes will arrive
later on, when all characters are out.

Soul Calibur 2 HD Online will be hitting PSN on Nov. 19th and XBL on Nov.
20th for $19.99.
Namco also released a new promotional
image for SC2 HD Online on Facebook.
Next, on the Capcom side of things... Ultra Street Fighter 4 is set for
an April 2014 release. Ultra SF4 will be a $15 DLC add-on to SSF4:
Arcade Edition, or $40 by itself.

confirmed that the upcoming English versions of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:
All-Star Battle will feature some name changes. Since JJBA takes
heavy inspiration from famous musicians and bands, some character names will be
different in the English version to steer clear of copyright issues (example:
"Vanilla Ice" being changed to "Iced"). Also confirmed: The
localized version will retain mid-fight Japanese kanji and Japanese voices.

The Playstation Vita
version of Injustice: Gods Among Us was shown at last weekend's New York
Comic-Con '13. Early reports have stated that the Vita version replicates the
console experience very closely. This gameplay

Alter Memory (the Blazblue anime adaptation) is now available to

The first episode of the anime follows Ragna on his path to the 13th

ordered Tommo Inc. to stop distributing and selling their line of NeoGeo X
products. In a nutshell, Tommo denied any breach of contract that exists in
their agreement with SNK. "Tommo is still taking care of
all customer service and product warranties in North America as are our master
distribution partners," said Jonathan Wan, Tommo CEO. "We're

SNK Demands Neo Geo X
Makers to Halt Production

Looks like the life of
the Neo Geo X handheld system has been cut short... SNK has terminated its
license with Tommo Inc., the manufacturer and distributor of the NGX system. SNK
released a notice
on their website ordering Tommo to stop "all manufacturing, distribution,
marketing & promotion and selling" of their products. This includes the
NGX Gold bundle, NGX arcade stick and all game packages...

Mode in the new Killer Instinct. Dojo Mode acts as a Training / Tutorial
mode in the game and helps new players gain a better understanding of Killer

Namco Trademarks Soul
Calibur: Unbreakable Soul

Currently, Namco is
developing the single player title, Soul Calibur: Lost Swords for PS3, as
well as Soul
Calibur II: HD Online for PS3 and 360. Today, Siliconera
spotted a trademark
for what seems to be yet another new title, called Soul Calibur: Unbreakable
Soul. The trademark for SC: Lost Souls was filed in July and
officially announced in September of this year. So perhaps in a few months,
we'll hear more about SC: Unbreakable Soul. Stay tuned!

GGXX:
AC+R Patch Still Coming in 2013, Says Aksys

This isn't really
"news"... but it's a slow news week (and some other websites seem to
think that this is news)?
So, Arc System Works USA announced on Facebook
that the long-awaited patch to update GGXX: AC+ to GGXX:AC+R is still
coming in 2013 for North America (as they've stated previously). The +R
update is currently available for the PS Vita and Japanese PSN versions. Still,
no official dates have been given for the PS3 & 360 versions.
