Arena Toshinden, BAT2 and BAT3 Re-releasing on Modern
Consoles in 2026-2028

 The
Battle
Arena Toshinden series was a pioneer in the 3D weapon-based
fighting game space during the PlayStation 1 era. Japanese publisher Edia
confirmed a licensing agreement with Takara — the original publishers of
Toshinden — brining BAT1, BAT2,
and BAT3
to modern consoles. This announcement coincides with the 30th anniversary
of Toshinden, the first title releasing on PS1 in Japan back in
January 1995. Edia said they plan to release the Toshinden trilogy
on modern platforms starting in 2026 (continuing in 2027 and possibly
2028). Edia did not specify which platforms the trilogy will be releasing
on.
Edia stated they will announce more details on the trilogy and confirm
platforms at a later date. Keep
