Capcom Director Shares Early SFV Concept Art by Bengus

Director of Street Fighter V and Street Fighter 6 Takayuki Nakayama recently shared some never-before-seen SFV early concept sketches illustrated by Bengus. Alongside the colorful sketch art is some commentary by the Capcom director, who shares a few random fun facts about Street Fighter V's character development. Nakayama mentions Juri Han's original SFV design was slated to show more skin (as seen in the artwork below), but was censored in the final version for "various reasons". Below, take a look at all 5 character sketches by Bengus released by Director Nakayama this week.

The Street Fighter V director accompanied Bengus' badass Balrog sketch (below) with some words about the character's V-Skill — called "KKB" — which actually stands for "Kuru Kuru Bison / Boxer" — a Japanese term for something spinning around and around. Nakayama also mentioned Balrog's "FFB" stands for "Fun Fun Bison / Boxer".

As you can see above, Director Takayuki Nakayama also shared Street Fighter V concept sketches for Guile, Ibuki, and Urien, although he didn't elaborate with any commentary for these. As usual, these new artworks have been added to each character's profile / gallery inside TFG's Characters portal. This article will be updated if @TakaNakayama shares additional SFV concept art in the coming days!

In related news... a new Street Fighter Art Book, titled "Street Fighter V Climax Arts + Zero to 6", was announced yesterday and features a new cover illustration by Bengus. Learn more about the book inside our recent article (link below).
