What Happened to Capcom Fighting All-Stars?
|
|
In 2003, Capcom canceled their long-rumored "Capcom Vs. Capcom" 3D fighting game titled
Capcom Fighting All-Stars, which later evolved into the infamous 2D mash-up and poorly received
Capcom Fighting Evolution. YouTuber and fighting game historian Matt McMuscles recently uploaded an incredibly informative and entertaining video on the events that lead up to the cancellation of Capcom Fighting All-Stars in his latest "What Happened" series. Even though Matt's video is titled
"Capcom Fighting Evolution: What Happened," it ends up covering the full story of Capcom Fighting All-Stars —
including some fairly new information recently revealed by Capcom developers. From SNK's bankruptcy and fallout in 2001, to the rumored / canceled Capcom Vs. SNK 3, McMuscles does a deep dive on the history behind both Capcom Fighting titles. And it's an absolute must-watch!
Shoutout to Matt McMuscles for another excellent fighting game video documentary. Check out more of Matt's videos over on his YouTube
channel.
