Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves - Color Edit Mode, Jukebox, REV System Mechanics, RPG Mode Preview

In addition to Mai Shiranui's announcement trailer, SNK released another new Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves trailer providing a glimpse at several of the game's unique modes and features. After running through the character roster and REV System mechanics, the new trailer highlights the game's all new RPG-style "Episodes of Southtown" (EOST) mode where you can level up your fighter and equip new skills. Also shown for the first time is Color Edit mode — appearing similar to the feature present in modern 3D fighting games such as TEKKEN 8 and SC6. Finally, SNK showed some footage of Jukebox mode where fans can create playlists, customize background music, and listen to soundtracks from classic Fatal Fury games (among other SNK titles). After watching the trailer (below) scroll down for Screenshots and additional details.

The trailer briefly shows a player-controlled Rock Howard fighting against CPU characters with generic outfits and names in EOST Mode (screenshot above) and also mentions a feature where players can fight against "auto-generated AI clones". SNK hasn't provided details about this feature just yet but we'll keep you updated when more information is available. A main part of the EOST Mode is the South Town Map where players select missions and continue the story.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves' Color Edit mode features a color wheel and editing options similar to the
modes appearing in Bandai Namco 3D fighting games such as TEKKEN 7 and TEKKEN 8. SNK's version of the mode also features a texture option (previously appearing in SoulCalibur V and SoulCalibur 6) where players can select parts of the character's outfit and change the texture (as well as the color and size of the texture). Jukebox will have a huge selection of SNK albums for fans to enjoy and assign to songs to specific background stages in the game.

The screenshots above confirm other SNK / NEOGEO fighting game soundtracks such as Art of Fighting and Art of Fighting 2 will appear in Jukebox mode in addition to the full Fatal Fury / Garou series library. Mini Games such as "Arm Wrestling"
inspired by the bonus mode appearing in the original Fatal Fury 1 arcade fighting game also appear within the Episodes of South Town (EOST) mode (on the main menu).

SNK confirmed Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be releasing on April 24th, 2025. Pre-order bonuses include Early Access (starting April 21st) and the Fatal Fury 2-inspired Terry Bogard DLC costume seen in the promotional image (below). Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will launch with 22 characters. SNK announced a Season Pass which includes 5 post-launch characters. The Season Pass is included with the Special Edition ($59.95).

The Season Pass DLC Character release schedule for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has also been revealed. SNK has plans to update the game into early 2026 with at least 5 new characters joining the roster. SNK will likely be releasing a more comprehensive Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves gameplay trailer for
Mai Shiranui in the near future. Stay tuned on The Fighters Generation for more Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves news and content.
