Asuka has been taught
the Kazama Style Ancient Martial Arts by her father since she was an innocent
child. Due to her sense of justice, she likes to intervene in any troubles
and got to be known as a meddler in her city of Osaka. One day, when she
came home, students of her Kazama dojo looked troubled. She found out a
Chinese Martial artist appeared and had fought her father, who was now
hospitalized with severe injuries. A few days later, Asuka was told by
a detective of the Hong Kong international police this fighter would compete
in The King of Iron Fist Tournament. Asuka made the decision to enter the
tournament.
Asuka Kazama involved
herself with the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 in order to defeat Wei Feng, the man responsible for her father's injuries, but to her dismay,
he was nowhere to be found. Asuka returned to ordinary life disappointed.
However, the peaceful nature of ordinary life didn't last long. Knowing
the ringleader of wars engulfing the world to be none other than her relative, Jin
Kazama, Asuka once again joins the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to
capture Jin.

Asuka was
a late (and welcomed) replacement for Jun
Kazama
in Tekken 5. It was cool to see Jun's style back in the limelight,
especially since we hadn't seen Jun (or anyone that used her
style) since Tekken Tag Tournament. It was a tall order,
but Namco presented Asuka with a cool, spunky personality, an awesome moveset and
an original appearance... all of which noticeably a lot different from Jun's. Asuka
is a great character all around and even brings some comic relief to the Tekken series at
times.
On a side note: For some reason, a lot of "beginner" Tekken
players seem to flock to Asuka (or Jun). Then, they decide it's a good idea to
spam her sweeps, among other basic moves involving the kick buttons. It's a
phenomenon. In turn, I'd like to take this time to say, to any beginners out
there.... STOP SPAMMING!!! You'll keep losing if you keep spamming. Asuka has so
many awesome moves, there's no reason to only use 5 or 10 moves. Learn Asuka's full moveset (or any Tekken character's moveset) and
you'll thank me later.
