Shermie rounds out
the "New Face Team" of KOF, her partners being Yashiro
and Chris. Shermie, Yashiro and Chris are in a
music band together called "CYS" (based on their first initials). Shermie
plays the keyboards.
They enter KOF '97 tournament due to Yashiro's grudge against rival
band player, Iori
Yagami. Even though Shermie plays in a band, her day job is fashion design. Her fighting style is pro-wrestling, but little is known of
where she learned her technique.
Shermie's true origins are shrouded in mystery,
but she is one of the Four Heavenly Kings
of the Orochi. When Goenitz
was killed, the remaining three arranged the next tournament to gather
energy for Orochi's reincarnation. Following this event, Shermie became Orochi
Shermie. It appears Shermie ultimately took her life to revive Orochi.

Shermie is one of
those designs that defines the KOF series. Sexy, stylish, and 100%
original. Her cool mannerisms and constant dancing compliment her unique
fighting style. She actually has some of the best dance moves I've ever seen
from a 2D sprite. As far as fighting style goes, Shermie's stylish gymnastics techniques
and interesting throws & kicks make her stand out.
Visually, she's obviously a cool design... her hairstyle in particular really defines her.
Can she even see through her epic bangs? Doesn't matter. Her bangs are epic.
Shermie's 2D sprite wasn't updated much until KOF2002, where she got a
lot of new animations. I think she would've made a good character to crossover
in CVS series, but it wasn't in the cards for her. On that note, her Card Fighters Clash card is one of my favorites to
use in the game. Her card's "BE GENTLE TO ME!" ability is top tier... I always have three
Shermie cards in my deck. Among my friends, I was the first to discover the
awesome power of Shermie's card (preventing the opponent from attacking). All in
all, she's a great design that stands the test of time.
