Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka Artbook Coming in April 2021


Last Fall, we reported on the Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka characters exhibition event that took place in Takarazuka City, Hyogo, Japan. For the event, artists from both Capcom and Tezuka drew special illustrations of characters from the opposite side (including Shinkiro, Bengus, Keisuke Mizuno, and Tsunogai). It's been announced that an official Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka artbook featuring these illustrations will be released in Japan in April 2021. Pre-orders for the artbook are now live on Fukkan, which reveals the book will retail for 2,750 Yen (about $26.50 USD). Scroll down for some new preview images of illustrations that will appear in the artbook.

Once again, the Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka official artbook releases this April for 2,750 Yen (about $26.50 USD). Pre-orders are now live on Fukkan.

SFIII: 3rd Strike Early Portraits by Daigo Ikeno

It's amazing that after 3 decades of studying fighting game artwork, we can still come across rare early renditions and rough sketches of the final illustrations that we know and love from countless games. Today, Street Fighter series Art Director and Designer, Takayuki Nakayama, shared some early portraits of the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike cast that predate the original launch of the game in 1999.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Fan Animation

3rd Strike is an immortal and timelessly influential title in fighting game history. Some consider it the peak of 2D fighting games. Not only for its deep technical gameplay and memorable characters, but its brilliant and refined animation quality. A 2D animator who goes by "Kathan" just posted a gorgeous animation tribute to SFIII: 3rd Strike and... it's a MUST WATCH.
