Fighter 6 Akuma Update Adds Music Selection, Giant Attack Event, Balance
      Update & More

    | Akuma
is now available in Street Fighter 6
      — bringing with him a slew of new features, modes, balance
adjustments, and more. Today, Capcom released the Akuma Update Launch
Trailer which previews some of Akuma's World Tour interactions and battles with
player-created avatars. The online community experience is enhanced with the
all-new "Giant Attack" mode where Battle Hub participants fight together
against a giant version of Akuma. In addition to the Akuma Update
      Trailer that Capcom released today,
the full trailer for Giant Attack — "Take Down The Giant Akuma" Event
is also live. Check out both of the new SF6 trailers celebrating
      Akuma's arrival, below!

    |    "Giant Attack" is indeed a callback to
Capcom's 1997 fighting game masterpiece, Street
Fighter III: 2nd Impact. While unconfirmed by Capcom... it seems
likely that players may eventually be battling other Street
Fighter characters besides Akuma inside SF6's Battle Hub
      lobbies in the near future.

Quite possibly the most exciting Street Fighter 6 update from the
new patch, outside of Akuma's return (of course), is the all-new BGM
Select feature and Music Player. This mode allows users to
select and listen to BGMs from a wide variety of iconic Street Fighter titles
from the past (basically every major installment) while playing SF6.

    |    The
      entire soundtracks of SFII,
      SFIII: New Generation,
      SFIII: 2nd Impact, SFIII:
      3rd Strike, Street
      Fighter IV, SFV, Super
Street Fighter II X Grand Master Challenge, and Ultra
Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers are now available in Street
Fighter 6. From a fan's perspective, this is an excellent addition to
the game! Similarly to the Jukebox mode previously appearing in Bandai
      Namco's TEKKEN 7
      and TEKKEN 8,
this mode also allows users to save Playlists for multiple loadouts to
      hear their favorite soundtracks.

However, unlike TEKKEN 7's and TEKKEN 8's Jukebox mode
(which was 100% free and included at launch)... the downside to this new SF6
feature is that Capcom is treating it as paid DLC. Tracks must be
purchased in packs and range from 100 Fighter Coins ($2 USD / 2000 Drive
Tickets) up 350 Fighter Coins ($7 USD / 7000 Drive Tickets). That said, if
you don't have a ton of Drive Tickets saved up... players wanting to
purchase all of the tracks would end up spending nearly $50.

    |    As
reported earlier, the May 22nd update also adds Outfit 3 costumes for
      Akuma, Ed,
      A.K.I., and Rashid
      — costing 300
      Fighter Coins each (about
$6 USD). See our previous article to watch the official Outfit
3 Trailer. If you're serious about learning Akuma in Street Fighter
6, don't miss the official video
      guide to prepare for battle!
