 The
fighting game landscape has long been defined by its iconic villains, and
few cast a shadow as menacing as Geese
Howard, the former emperor of South Town. His canonical death in Real
Bout Fatal Fury (1995) was intended to be final, yet his popularity
birthed the "Nightmare" persona—an ethereal, ghostly
manifestation of his lingering malice that first appeared in Real
Bout Fatal Fury Special (1997) and soon arrives in Fatal
Fury: City of the Wolves as a Season 2 DLC fighter.
To
celebrate this spectral homecoming, SNK collaborated once again with
legendary animator Masami Obari to produce a full 6-minute Animated
Trailer. 
Masami Obari
is a foundational figure in the franchise's visual history, having served
as the character designer and director for the original and now iconic
1990's Fatal Fury animated trilogy, which influenced the
"anime aesthetic" of SNK fighting games and other media of the
era. Obari's 6-minute City of the Wolves short not only features
the old school Fatal Fury icons that you'd expect... MOTW's
Rock Howard and Kain
also make an appearance, as they play a major role in the family
storyline.
It's great to see SNK releasing this vibrant and nostalgic animated and

The Season 2 Announcement
Trailer confirmed
several returning characters for City of the Wolves — recently crowed
"Fighting Game of the Year 2025" at The Game Awards. The new trailer
revealed Kim Jae Hoon, Geese Howard,
Blue Mary, Wolfgang
Krauser, and two additional unannounced fighters arriving in Season 2.
Kim Jae Hoon and Nightmare Geese are available now. Blue Mary joins the roster in
March 2026 and Krauser in April
2026.
