TEKKEN
7 Sells Over 9 Million Copies Worldwide
|
|
TEKKEN
series producer Katsuhiro Harada announced on Twitter today that TEKKEN
7
has now achieved over 9 million copies sold worldwide since the
game's original console launch back on June 2nd, 2017. This new milestone
makes TEKKEN 7 the #1 best-selling game of the entire franchise, with a total of 53 million
copies sold for the series collectively. For those wondering, the
revolutionary and record-breaking TEKKEN
3 topped off at 8 million copies sold on PlayStation 1. To
commemorate TEKKEN 7's fifth anniversary tomorrow and new
milestone, check out the brand new celebratory illustration by Jbstyle
featuring none other than boss-mode Kazuya
Mishima. (Click or tap the image below for a closer look.)
(It's over 9000?! Try over 9,000,000!) Congratulations to Bandai Namco,
Katsuhiro Harada, Michael Murray, and the entire TEKKEN community for
this record-breaking achievement! TEKKEN 7's continued success and
beyond-dedicated competitive player base will no doubt
pave the way for great things to come for the series in the future. With a
TEKKEN 8 announcement speculated to be on the horizon... it's still
the best time ever to be a TEKKEN player.
Below, take a quick look back at Jbstyle's previous commemorative
illustration featuring Heihachi
Mishima to mark TEKKEN 7 achieving 8 million units sold (April
2021), followed by Takuji Kawano's final commemorative illustration
of the game's cast and latest DLC characters celebrating 7 million copies
sold (February 2022).
