TEKKEN 8 Announcement at The Game Awards '22

Earlier this year, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley posted a tweet "subtly" hinting that a TEKKEN 8 announcement would be made at this year's show — set for December 8th (5:00 pm PST). Note that this tweet was posted before the official TEKKEN 8 gameplay reveal trailer in September (and after the original EVO '22 teaser). Nonetheless, the time seems just about right for another major TEKKEN 8 reveal before we reach the end of 2022. A recent tweet by Geoff Keighley from a few days ago includes a subliminal image containing "D8" — which stands for December 8th. Geoff further emphasized the 8 with his comment, "don't be L8".

What some folks on Twitter might've missed (while habitually doomscrolling and tweeting about the platform's demise earlier this week)... is that the "
8" in this tweet happens to be the exact same color as the "8" in the official TEKKEN 8 logo.

Who knows... the impending TEKKEN 8 announcement could even help kick off the entire Game Awards '22 show itself — much like Sony's State of Play event back in September. I believe producer Katsuhiro Harada has also tweeted at Geoff Keighley once or possibly twice related to this date and TGA '22 — all but 100% confirming that major TEKKEN 8 news is planned to drop on December 8th, 2022 at The Game Awards live show.

In related news... according to recent reports, Bandai Namco may even have plans to "launch TEKKEN 8 sometime in 2023" — although this is unconfirmed.

Last week, Insider Gaming claimed that a Bandai Namco representative stated during an earnings call that the company has plans to launch TEKKEN 8 sometime after March 31st, 2023, or later on in 2023. This information could be interpreted in numerous ways at this point. If not a full launch to directly compete with Street Fighter 6, perhaps this means there's a chance that a TEKKEN 8 beta test could take place sometime in 2023. Further details on this have yet to be clarified or confirmed, but we'll keep you updated.

The Game Awards will be streaming live from the Microsoft Theater is Los Angeles on December 8th, 2022 at 5:00 pm (PST). More information on The Game Awards 2022 is available on the official website. Be sure to stay tuned
on The Fighters Generation for upcoming TEKKEN 8 news, upcoming character reveals, and content coming soon.
