New Virtua
Fighter 6 Pre-Development Concept
|

|
 During
NVIDIA's presentation at CES 2025, a new "pre-development
concept" video for Sega's highly-anticipated upcoming Virtua
Fighter project developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (possibly to be
titled Virtua Fighter 6) was shown. While more of a tech demo and not showing "actual
gameplay", the short video clip provides an early conceptual look at
the potentially highly-impressive visuals, traditional martial arts
cinematics, and next-gen stage interactions possible in the
upcoming Virtua Fighter project currently in development.
The new footage hints at an "open environment" with a character
walking around in third person before commencing a battle. Whether or not
this concept will be used in the new Virtua Fighter game is
unconfirmed at this time,
but in recent interviews, Sega mentioned they are interested in finally
incorporating a story mode and an interactive single-player experience for
the new VF project. As far as gameplay goes, Sega said they plan to
stay close to Virtua Fighter's more
"traditional" and "keeping it simple" 3D fighting game
roots (avoiding things like projectiles and magical attacks, for example).
