Persona 4 Arena Stage Play Coming To Japan

The critically acclaimed Persona 4 RPG and the fighting spin-off, Persona 4 Arena, have definitely put the series on the map. Thanks to its popularity in Japan, Persona 4 Arena will be getting a stage play adaptation. The live show will run from Dec. 19th-23rd at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, as it states on the official website. Persona 4 Arena isn't the only fighting game to be made into a live show recently. Back in March, "Live Act Blazblue: Continuum Shift" hit the stage.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Nina Williams Kotobukiya Statue & E-Capcom Morrigan Statue Previews

Japanese figure maker Kotobukiya just revealed their latest piece in the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 line of Bishoujo statues. Based on Shunya Yamashita's TTT2 artwork, the 1/7th scale Nina Williams statue will become available in November in Japan (December in North America) and will retail for 7,776 yen (about $76 USD). Capcom also unveiled a new Kinu Nishimura-inspired Morrigan statue on their online store, set to be released this September.

Primal Rage 2 Gameplay From Galloping Ghost Arcade

The guys over at Galloping Ghost arcade, one of the last remaining arcades in North America, recently acquired a rare prototype board for the unreleased and cancelled Primal Rage 2. Nonetheless, the prototype version of the game is actually playable, and Galloping Ghost recently posted several hours of Primal Rage 2 gameplay footage on Youtube. Warning: This game is one of the ugliest and most disturbing fighting games you may ever see. lol.

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late's Opening Movie

Arc System Works just uploaded the full opening movie to the upcoming PS3 version of French Bread's 2D fighting game, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late. The "anime style" intro of Under Night In-Birth is about 1 and 1/2 minutes long and runs through all of the characters in the game, including the two PS3 exclusives: Nanase & Byakuya. Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late will be released for PS3 July 24th in Japan.

The Rhythm of Fighters Out Now on Android &
iOS

The recently announced King of Fighters rhythm game can now be downloaded on Android and iOS platforms for $0.99. The core game features 14 classic NeoGeo tracks from titles such as: KOF, Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury & Metal Slug. Additional DLC song packs are also available. Mortal Kombat X Character Artwork For Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn, Ferra/Torr, D'vorah & Scorpion

The official Mortal Kombat Facebook page recently unveiled several high-res CGI artworks for all of the new characters of MKX, including: Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn, Ferra/Torr and D'Vorah. They also released two new images of Scorpion with battle damage.

King of Fighters Music Game Spin-off, Rhythm of Fighters, Coming Soon To Android &
iOS

This era of gaming has brought a wide variety of fighting game spin-offs to smartphones and consoles. The latest King of Fighters spin-off is coming soon, and it's a music / rhythm game for Android & iOS. Rhythm of Fighters features old school KOF backgrounds & characters and a variety of music tracks from SNK's library. Judging from the first screenshots, it appears players will tap or swipe music notes on an oval in the center of the screen to battle.

Ultra SF4 Now Available For Pre-Order on PC

A Second New Character Revealed For Playstation 3 Version of Under Night In-Birth

Another new character has been revealed for the upcoming PS3 version of Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late. Check out the first screenshots and character artwork for Byakuya, a mysterious purple-haired boy who has a "spider-like" fighting style and can attack with eight claws & web attacks from long range. Under Night In-Birth is set to be released for PS3 in Japan on July 24th.

DOA5: Ultimate's Phase-4 Available This Week, Pricing Details & Costume DLC Revealed

Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate's second DLC fighter will be made available June 17th on PSN in North America and June 18th on Xbox Live (worldwide). The European PSN release will follow next week on June 25th. Phase-4 will be released as part of Patch 1.07, which will also fix some bugs and make a few balance changes. Phase-4 along with her 6 alternate costumes will cost $12.99, and the new "Overalls" DLC costume pack is priced at $14.99.

Ermac Concept Artwork Could Be A Preview of His Mortal Kombat X Appearance

Check out this Ermac concept artwork by NetherRealm Studios Senior Artist, Bernard Beneteau. Seeing as many of his designs from past MK games and Injustice have become a reality, there's a solid chance that you may be looking at the MKX rendition of Mr. Error Macro. This Ermac artwork also seems to retain the "ultra-realistic" art style previously seen in the MKX Scorpion cover art, adding some legitimacy to this speculation.

E3 '14: Mortal Kombat X - Cassie Cage & Kotal Kahn Gameplay Footage, Fatalities

Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Pre-Orders Come With Teddie Punching Bag & Tarrot Cards

If you were thinking about pre-ordering Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax for PS3 or Xbox 360, this pre-order bonus from Atlus might just seal the deal. Atlus announced that the first-print copies of P4A: Ultimax will come with an inflatable Teddie (mini) punching bag and 11 Persona tarot cards. The tarots cards are the first set of two (the second set will come with Persona Q pre-orders). The promo image for P4U2 pre-orders also hints that "more" bonuses will be added to this package.

Capcom President Expresses Interest in Developing "Street Fighter 5" For PS4 & Xbox One

In a recent interview with Kyodo News, Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto made it clear that "Street Fighter 5" is in the plans, and expressed interest in developing the title for PS4 and Xbox One. Tsujimoto also mentioned he'd be interested in making SF5 more accessible to beginners, possibly implementing a "pay model" to lessen the skill gap. Once word spread, this particular comment caused an outbreak of confusion on many gaming news sites...

The first "raw" gameplay footage of T. J. Combo's epic return in Killer Instinct was shown at E3 today. The KI segment begins with an interview with Iron Galaxy CEO, Dave Lang, who gives a preview of T. J. Combo's new stuff. The video also gives a closer look at T. J. Combo's stage, based in Chicago. Today at E3, we learned even more about Mortal Kombat X. Producer Ed Boon stated that MKX will have "more new characters than any other installment" of the franchise, adding to the early speculation that MKX will feature a totally revamped roster. A new trailer for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax debuted at E3 2014. Some of this trailer's content has appeared in previous trailers, but the gameplay footage from the English version of the game is all new. Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax is set for a Fall 2014 in North America For Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The European release date has not yet been announced.

E3 '14: Over 12 Minutes of MKX Gameplay Featuring D'Vorah & Ferra/Torr, Character Variations

The E3 '14 coverage of MKX continues with an even closer look at the new Mortal Kombat! The latest gameplay footage from the early build of MK10 (running on PS4) presents in-game footage of new characters D' Vorah and Ferra/Torr, along with a new stage. MK10's character selection screen shows off fully rendered, animated character models. In addition, 3 selectable "Variations" of each character are shown (giving fighters access to specific attacks).

Sony's Playstation Now Stream Service Will Offer Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4, Vita, Etc.

New details regarding Sony's upcoming "Playstation Now" cloud-based streaming platform have been announced at E3 2014. PS Now will launch in beta form this Summer (July 31st), allowing users instant access to a variety of games on PS4, PS3, Vita, and select Sony TVs. Capcom's Ultra Street Fighter IV has been confirmed as one of the first games offered on PS Now. Hopefully "streaming lag" won't get in the way too much during online matches with friends... (Fingers crossed).

Atlus just unveiled the Japanese cover artwork for Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold (AKA Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax). The cover features a buffed up Yu Narukami along with ALL of the playable characters in the game (including the most recently revealed ones such as Adachi, Ken, and Koromaru). New Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Trailer Features Miyuki Shiba & Taiga Aisaka

Sega just released a new trailer for their 2D anime fighter, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Just over a minute long, the new trailer shows gameplay footage of Taiga Aisaka from Toradora! and Miyuki Shiba from The Irregular at Magic High School. If you actually know who these characters are, I suppose you'll also be happy to know that Ryuji Takasu (from Toradora!) & Tatsuya Shiba (from TIAMHS) will also appear in the game as assist characters.

Ultra Street Fighter IV PS3 Collector's Edition Announced For Japan

A Collector's Edition package has been announced for the Japanese physical release of Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS3. On August 7th, both the standard and collector's versions of Ultra SF4 will be released in Japan. The bundle includes the PS3 game disc, a 36-page art book, an animation collection DVD, a soundtrack CD (7 tracks), and the 2014 "Challengers Pack" costume DLC code. The Collector's Edition will be priced at 4,990 yen...

M. Bison Appears on The Pete Holmes Show

So far... Ryu, Vega, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, Ken, Guile, and Blanka have been featured in skits on the Pete Homes show. The latest episode sees M. Bison, the one behind the SF2 tournament, finally interviewed. Pete Holmes questions M. Bison's traveling system for flying fighters back and forth from country to country, and offers a new idea to simply host the tournament in Atlanta, GA. It's the best episode to date... if you ask me.

DOA5U - NyoTengu Character Art, Screenshots

We now have the full details on DOA5: Ultimate's female Tengu (or NyoTengu in Japanese), along with official character artwork & screenshots. To reiterate, this week's Famitsu confirmed that Nyotengu will be added to the arcade version of the game later this month, but is also coming to consoles in the future (possibly late June as well). Phase-4 will also be coming to the console version in the next update, along with new athletic costumes.

This is basically a compilation of UDON's Art of Capcom Volume 1 & 2, but also features 75 pages of brand new material. Team Ninja Reveals "Female Tengu" Character For Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate, Gameplay Trailer

Yesterday, Team Ninja teased 2 screenshots via Twitter, unveiling a new "female Tengu" character for DOA5: Ultimate. [UPDATE] It's been confirmed that "Nyotengu" will be released for both the arcade and console versions of the game. Nyotengu is described as a trickster character, using wind attacks and aerial movement. She fights using "Tengu-Do," the same fighting style as DOA2's boss, Tengu. Today, Team Ninja released a gameplay trailer for Nyotengu.

Adachi Confirmed as DLC Character For Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax, First Artwork & Screenshots

Famitsu confirmed today that Tohru Adachi, the hard-working and usually friendly detective from the Persona 4 RPG, will be a DLC character in Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax. Adachi will use the Persona, Magatsu-Izanagi, and will have his own story in the game, titled "Episode Adachi". Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Will Run At 1080p on PS4 & 720p on PS3, Cross Play Enabled

Today, Famitsu provided a bit of news regarding the upcoming console version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. So far, the game has been confirmed for PS4 & PS3, and now we have new details on the console versions. The PS4 version will run in full HD at 1080, while the PS3 version will be at 720p. Cross-play will be enabled between the two versions, and Arc System Works restated that new characters will be added. The console version will also contain Story Mode.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Digital Upgrade Now Available on PSN & Xbox Live, New Trailers

The Ultra Street Fighter IV digital upgrade is now available on both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 for $14.95. This morning Capcom uploaded the Ultra SFIV digital upgrade launch trailer to get players hyped. Capcom Japan also released a new Decapre trailer. In related news, BradyGames has released the official USF4 frame data app for iOS devices (priced at $2.99). The Android version is coming soon.

Mortal Kombat X Scorpion Cover Artwork

So if you didn't catch the news yesterday, Mortal Kombat 10 was officially announced alongside the first trailer. Now, have a close look at the first promotional artwork for the game, featuring none other than the iconic hell ninja, Scorpion. These artworks are insanely detailed, so be sure to check them out full screen in HD. An early MKX box artwork concept also appeared on Amazon, but this is probably not the final box art.

Ed Boon Confirms Mortal Kombat X, First Trailer

Early this morning, Ed Boon confirmed that the new game in development is indeed Mortal Kombat X (10). A few minutes after the confirmation, he released a link to the official announce trailer on Youtube. The teaser trailer features Sub-Zero and Scorpion battling it out to a rap soundtrack (a bit of an odd choice for MK). As you can see from the trailer, X-Ray Moves will return from MK9. MKX is slated for a 2015 release for PS4, PS3, Xbone, 360 & PC.

"Mortal Kombat X" Leaked on Amazon UK

Producer Ed Boon has yet to officially reveal what he's been teasing on Twitter, but today, Amazon UK posted listings for Mortal Kombat X... which appears to be planned for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Earlier titles (such as Injustice & MK: Komplete Edition) have been leaked on European Amazon websites in the past, so there's already some legitimacy this leak. In any case, Mr. Ed Boon is expected to reveal more information tomorrow or later this week. Stay tuned!

Atlus just released a new trailer for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax, this time starring the playable duo of Ken Amada and Koromaru. This 1-minute trailer gives a preview of their in-game story and shows off their unique gameplay abilities. In addition, Atlus released another trailer unveiling "Golden Arena Mode" which contains a leveling-up system where players can unlock new abilities for their character.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Coming to North America This Fall on Playstation 3 & Playstation 4

The next-gen installment of Guilty Gear is headed to a Playstation system near you, later this year. Released in Japan arcades this past January, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will make its highly anticipated debut in North America on Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 this Fall. So far, the console version of GGXrd has only been confirmed for Playstation consoles.

Mysterious Mortal Kombat Poster Leaked, Ed Boon Updates Twitter Profile To Match

Mortal Kombat series producer & co-creator Ed Boon has been hinting at a "new project" via Twitter for about a month now. A few tweets of his have suggested a new MK game is in the works (and his countdown should unveil something early next week). Earlier today, a mysterious MK poster was leaked by several sources, and Ed Boon has since updated his Twitter profile to match. E3 is now two weeks away; surely we'll have some details very soon.

Patroklos Confirmed For Soul Calibur: Lost Swords, New Trailer & Screenshots

Patroklos, the main protagonist of Soul Calibur 5, has just been confirmed for Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. Bandai Namco has released a character trailer for Patroklos along with several screenshots. Additionally, a brand new "angel armor" customization set is also shown in the set of screenshots. The quest that unlocks Patroklos will become available today.

Ultra SF4 - Capcom's Combofiend Talks Character Balancing & Player Feedback on PS.Blog

Today, Capcom's Peter Rosas (Combofiend) made a post on the official Playstation.Blog about the upcoming console version of Ultra Street Fighter IV. In the blog, Combofiend elaborates on how fan feedback played a major role in this update and gives a few examples of character balance changes. The Ultra SF4 digital upgrade will be released one week from today on PS3 (June 3rd), and hits Xbox 360 on June 4th for $14.99.

Skullgirls Encore Update Makes Fukua Playable, Adds Story Scenario & 2 New Stages

The April Fool's joke character known as Fukua is now playable in the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of Skullgirls Encore. Not only is she playable, but Fukua's story mode scenario was also added to the game in today's update, along with two new stages: The Glass Canopy and Nightmare Crest. Ultra SF4 Digital Upgrade Hits PS3 June 3rd, Xbox 360 June 4th, Disc Version Available Aug. 5th

Capcom has announced the official release date for the "Ultra" upgrade to SSF4: Arcade Edition. Ultra Street Fighter IV will make its PSN debut on June 3, with an XBL release arriving June 4th. The digital upgrade will cost $14.99. The full disc-based console versions will later arrive August 5th (for $39.99), and the PC versions will be released August 8th. Finally, Capcom released a new trailer showing off the pre-order costumes.

Yet another fighting game is getting the "mobile card game" treatment. Bandai Namco unveiled the first details and trailer for Soul Calibur: Unbreakable Soul. Players use attack cards to battle CPU opponents and other players, and the elements system from Soul Calibur: Lost Swords is also implemented. Players can mix moves and over 200 weapons which are one of five elements (fire, water, wind, light & dark).

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has started a "countdown" on his Twitter page, and the rumor mill is a turnin'. Starting earlier this week, Ed has tweeted out hints on each day, all unveiling a number descending from 29. Today, Ed tweeted the alphabet backwards (which has 26 numbers). Capcom Unity announced several additional features for the upcoming PS3 & Xbox 360 versions of Ultra Street Fighter IV. First up is "Training Mode Fight Request" which allows players to freely practice in between online battles. According to Amazon.com, the latest arcade update to Arcana Heart 3 will be arriving in North America on Sept. 30th for PS3. Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! Soul Calibur: Unbreakable Soul Announced

Back in October 2013, Namco Bandai trademarked the title, Soul Calibur: Unbreakable Soul. Sadira's Retro Costume Leaked in Killer Instinct

It's no secret that new alternate costumes randomly appear in Killer Instinct before being officially revealed. A Youtuber by the name of Gaming Skulls has discovered the latest leak, Sadira's "Retro" costume in KI3. Sadira is the only 100% new character to appear in KI3 so far, and her retro gothic look seems to fit right in with classic KI. Under Night In-Birth Coming to PS3 July 25th

Yet another Japanese-born fighting game is headed to PS3. French-Bread and Arc System Works are bringing Under Night In-Birth to PS3 in Japan on July 25th. Nanase, a new playable character will also appear in the console version (and likely won't be the only new character). New modes such as Survival, Training, Online Mode, and Player Customization will debut in the console version. The PS3 port is currently 70% complete.

Famitsu Confirms Rise Kujikawa Playable in Console Version of Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax

A few days ago, a rumor circulated from Best Buy's listing for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax (which has since been removed) which stated Persona 3's Ken Amada and Persona 4's Rise Kujikawa will be playable characters in the upcoming console version. Killer Instinct Season 2 To Add 8 Characters To The Roster, Along With No Mercy Finishers

Iron Galaxy, the new developers of Xbox One's Killer Instinct, just announced the first details regarding "Season 2" of KI. In the last PlayXBLA live stream, it was stated that Season 2 will add 8 characters and No Mercy finishers. While there's no word on which characters will make the cut, interestingly, there are 8 KI veterans who have yet to appear in KI3: Riptor, Cinder, T. J. New Fatal Fury Premium Cinematic Trailer

SNK Playmore recently released a new trailer for their upcoming Japanese Pachislot title based on the Fatal Fury / Garou series, Fatal Fury Premium. Big Band Hits Skullgirls Encore on PS3 Next Week

It's been quite a long wait for Skullgirls fans, but the next free DLC character, Big Band, will finally be coming to the PS3 version Skullgirls Encore next Tuesday (April 22nd). Ultra SF4 Decapre Alternate Costume Artwork

Capcom revealed a concept artwork of Decapre's alternate costume in Ultra Street Fighter IV this evening. Like the other USF4 alternate costumes, this costume was designed and drawn by UDON Comics. UDON's re-imagined version of Decapre is clearly a very different and "bizarre" take on the Cammy clone, and almost seems a bit "Guilty Gear inspired".

It's been 10 years since Daigo Umehara's legendary comeback against Justin Wong in that faithful SFIII: 3rd Strike match at Evolution 2004. KI (2013) Fulgore Classic Costume Leaked, Shadow Jago Ultimate Combo, New Character Teased

Killer Instinct Fulgore Update Now Live on Xbox One

The downloadable update that adds Fulgore to Xbox One's Killer Instinct has arrived a day early. Fan Made Dragonball Z Game Brings The Hype
