BlazBlue Creator Leaves Arc System Works
|
|
Creator
of the BlazBlue series,
Mori Toshimichi, announced on social media
this past Sunday that he is parting ways with Arc System Works. Mori first
joined the company in 2003 where he worked on Guilty Gear
X and later went on to produce and design the BlazBlue series. Regarding his departure,
Mori released a statement on Twitter and addressed fans of Arc
System Works and the BlazBlue series. Read his full statement
below:
Statement by Mori Toshimichi
I have something to report to
all of our players.
I, Mori Toshimichi, will be
leaving Arc System Works where I've been employed for many years.
I was originally working for a
company called Picpac where we were involved with the development of Guilty
Gear X, and from that I
transferred to Arc System Works and have spent time working on many
fighting games. I got to make my personal representative work in the
BlazBlue series and got to connect with many players across the world
during my 20 year long tenure of working at Arc System Works, and this
experience will forever be the treasure of my life.
I have nothing but gratitude
for the staff at Arc System Works, the various collaborators who have
helped me and of course all of the loyal players who have cheered us on.
Truly, truly, thank you.
I'm leaving Arc System Works. I
think that might cause a lot of worry for BlazBlue fans in particular. I
truly apologize for this.
In the future, I
will keep trying to bring games to the fans in some way, shape or form and
I'm currently making efforts in doing so. Please continue offering your
support.

Mori added,
"The many
experiences I have had over the past 20 years since joining Arc System
Works are the treasures of my life. I can only express my gratitude to the
Arc System Works staff, the people who have helped me, and the users who
have supported me. Thank you so, so much.
I know this may cause anxiety, especially for BlazBlue users. I am truly
sorry for this. I hope to be able to deliver more games to users in some
form in the future, and I will do my best to achieve this. I would like to
thank you in advance for your support."
Below is Mori's original tweet announcing the news of his departure.
