IGN Looks Back at Daigo
Umehara's 25-Year Career
|
|
IGN
recently published a short video documentary all about Daigo "The
Beast" Umehara. As most fighting game fans know from watching
"EVO Moment #37" at least 1,000 times by now, Daigo Umehara has
been a legendary Street Fighter competitor with many exciting wins
under his belt over the past two decades — including back to back EVO
championships. As one half of the most iconic Street
Fighter III: 3rd Strike moments (and eSports moments) in history,
Daigo's competitive journey extends far beyond his legendary SFIII: 3rd
Strike Ken parry against Justin Wong's Chun-Li. IGN's 10-minute video
(below) highlights some memorable moments of Daigo's career and even includes an
interview with The Beast himself.
As
previously mentioned, Daigo Umehara also has a manga
available titled Daigo The Beast: Umehara Fighting Gamers
(with
all volumes now released in English) — also inspired by his
real-life journey as a fighting game player and competitor. For more info
on the Daigo manga, see our August 2021 article directly below.
