UDON Announces New Volumes of Daigo Umehara Manga in English, Volume 2 Now Available
|
|
UDON recently announced Volume 2 of Daigo The Beast: Umehara Fighting Gamers — the manga based on legendary fighting game player and multi-time world
champion, Daigo Umehara
@daigothebeast.
The story focuses in on real-life events of Daigo's life and competitive fighting game history, noting high-level strategies and play-styles developed by Daigo. In the manga, a fictional character named Nuki becomes immersed
in the world of fighting games after playing against Daigo. The story explores Japan's arcade culture, growth as a competitive fighting game player, and opens a window into what it was like growing up in 90's Japan. Iconic Capcom fighting games such as Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha, and Darkstalkers are mentioned in the book.
Volumes 1 and 2 of the manga are now available in English. Additionally, UDON announced Volume 3 will ship this December, followed by Volume 4 in February 2022 and Volume 5 in May 2022. You can pick
up Volumes 1 & 2 or pre-order future volumes on
Barnes & Noble, Amazon, or your local comic shop.
