|
 The
first-ever EVO Awards show kicks off tonight from the great city of
Los Angeles, California (4:30pm PT - 7:30pm ET). Streaming live on YouTube
and Twitch, the
EVO Awards will honor the achievements and contributions of the fighting
game community (FGC) over the past year. This historic celebration will
feature a variety of award categories, including Player of the Year, Match
of the Year, and Best Popoff, among others. The event promises to be an
unforgettable experience for competitive players, streamers, and FGC
enthusiasts alike.
In addition to recognizing
outstanding performances through awards, the EVO Awards will
introduce inductees into the EVO Hall of Fame, celebrating legends who
have significantly impacted the FGC. Notable figures such as Tokido,
John Choi, and Alex Valle will be honored this year alongside previous
inductees Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara. The evening will kick off with a
pre-show featuring special guests and a live "Tournament of
Champions" Marvel vs.
Capcom 2 tournament featuring legendary players like Justin Wong,
Duc Do, Sanford Kelly, and IFC Yipes.

During the event, EVO
General Manager Rick Thiher announced an "extended lineup" for EVO
2025 — bringing 8 additional games for a grand total of 16
tournaments. The new EVO 2025 titles include The
King of Fighters XV, Killer
Instinct (2013), VF5
R.E.V.O., BlazBlue:
Central Fiction, Samurai
Shodown (2019), Guilty
Gear Xrd REV 2, Capcom
vs. SNK 2, and Rivals of Aether. Evolution 2025 is set to
take place from August 1st-3rd, 2025, at the Las
Vegas Convention Center West Hall.

As
anticipation builds for this landmark event, fans can look forward to
world premieres from major publishers during the show. Notable titles such
as Granblue Fantasy
Versus: Rising and HUNTER×HUNTER NEN×IMPACT will
be showcased alongside exclusive demos like SNK's upcoming Fatal
Fury: City of the Wolves. Stay tuned The
