Garou
/ Fatal Fury Sequel Green-lit by SNK, First Teaser Artwork
Featuring Rock Howard
|
|
Immediately
following the EVO '22 grand finals for The King of Fighters XV,
SNK's Yasuyuki Oda went onstage to debut a new KOF XV trailer
announcing Team Samurai as
the game's fourth Team DLC. After confirming the return of Shingo Yabuki
and Kim Kaphwan joining KOF XV in Season 2... it was also announced
that a new Fatal Fury / Garou fighting game has been green-lit by SNK! Although SNK
didn't reveal any specifics or details
regarding the project thus far, the company shared this new Rock
Howard concept illustration by Eisuke Ogura (below). The illustration also appears to show Kain
R. Heinlein and Billy
Kane standing behind Rock Howard in the background. Also see SNK's official teaser trailer!
"Legends
never die... After more than 20 years, FATAL FURY / GAROU is coming back!
Finally, the long awaited sequel has been green-lit!" said SNK in
their official tweet.
While the title is currently unknown, the new game appears to be a
long-awaited sequel to Garou:
Mark of the Wolves, released back in 1999. It will be interesting
to see if SNK uses any inspirations or characters from the original canceled
sequel to the 2D masterpiece.
