Samurai
Shodown (2019) Rollback Netcode Open Beta Test Takes Place in January 2023
|
|
Coinciding
with the new
King of
Fighters
XV
Season 2 release date
info and announcement for January 2023, SNK confirmed a
Samurai
Shodown (2019)
open beta test for the game's upcoming Rollback Netcode enhancement
is set to take place on Steam — also in January 2023. Unfortunately, the
Samurai Shodown reboot in 2019 was not particularly known for having good or solid
netcode — being nearly "unplayable" online on some platforms.
SNK's upgrade to
Rollback Netcode for Samurai Shodown in early 2023 should breath new life into the
3-year-old fighting game — now featuring a
total of 31 playable characters after three seasons of DLC support. SNK's
trailer (below) covers the KOF XV Season 2 news and
concludes with the Samurai Shodown open beta announcement.
While
the open beta test has only been announced for Steam, SNK confirmed they will
also be implementing Rollback
Netcode for Samurai Shodown (2019) on the following platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox
One, and Epic Games Store.

SNK
hasn't yet provided any additional details or specific dates or times
regarding the upcoming Samurai Shodown (2019) open beta taking place this
January, but we'll keep you updated. Stay tuned on Fighters Generation for
continued coverage.
