Blanka
and Sakura Join Fortnite
|

|
 Epic
Games announced today that two new Street Fighter characters
will be joining the Fortnite × Street Fighter
collaboration... Blanka
and Sakura Kasugano!
In addition to their default outfits, the first promotional images and
artwork for Blanka and Sakura's Fortnite arrival show Blanka
wearing a swanky suit and Sakura in her Street Fighter 4-era gym
attire. Both characters look pretty great... scroll down for official
renders and the first video footage. Fortnite players will be able
to grab the new Street Fighter gear and characters starting Thursday, April
28th (8:00pm ET). Epic Games also announced a special in-game event
called the "Blanka & Sakura Cup" where players can earn a
special Loading Screen.

In their press release, Epic Games has dubbed Blanka's swanky business look
as his "Blanka
Delgado" alternate style, inspired by the suit worn by Rival
Schools’ own Boman
Delgado (even though it doesn't have Boman's original blue and white
color sceme). Blanka will also have access to a special "Backflip
Emote" while wearing the suit.
To say the least, it's pretty cool and unexpected for Epic Games to
at least mention Capcom's sorely missed but not forgotten Rival Schools
series... just pointing that out. (Please take notes, Capcom.) We've all
been clamoring for a new Rival Schools game for a very long time, even
the Epic Games studio!

In case you didn't
read Epic Games' description of Sakura's alternate Gym outfit (above), the
Street Fighter Alpha icon will indeed have her iconic Sway
Victory Dance as an emote (seen in the video from @ShiinaBR below)!

Additionally, here's a

There will be two
versions of the Blanka & Sakura Cup where players can unlock
the special loading screen. The first Blanka & Sakura Cup is
mobile-only and takes place on Android April 27th. The second event
will be live on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android April
28th. Competitors can play up to 10 matches within their region's
3-hour time window, and the specific event timing for each region can
currently be found in the Compete tab in-game. You can visit EpicGames.com
