TEKKEN World Tour 2022 Global Finals and Frosty Faustings 2023 Taking Place This Weekend

Two major fighting game tournaments are set to take place this weekend: the TEKKEN World Tour 2022 Global Finals in Amsterdam and Frosty Faustings 2023 in Lombard, Illinois. The TWT Finals '22 marks the end of the TEKKEN 7 competitive season and has 24 players competing for a prize pool of $100,000 USD. The Last Chance Qualifier for TWT '22 takes place Saturday, February 4th and starts at (12:30am PT/3:30am ET), with finals happening Sunday, February 5th. [UPDATE #1] The full day 1 stream schedule is below.

The tournament will be streaming live at Twitch.tv/Tekken. On Twitter, Bandai Namco Esports also recently announced the commentary team for the TWT 2022 Finals, which includes: Markman, Reepal, Tasty Steve, SpahettiRip, SamDDing, and OG Bubsy.

Over in Chicago, Frosty Faustings '23 kicks off February 2nd - 5th and will feature 25 main tournament games with a huge amount of side tournaments as well. The full stream schedule for Frosty Faustings 2023's tournaments is provided in the tweet below.

[UPDATE #2] On Friday (February 3rd), the official TEKKEN Twitter profile confirmed a TEKKEN 8 announcement is planned for Sunday during the finals (around 19:00 Central European Time / 1:00pm Eastern Time). The tweet features a photo of the TWT '22 trophy alongside producer Katsuhiro Harada and producer Michael Murray.

For more information on either event you can head over to FrostyFaustings.com and TekkenWorldTour.com. Considering the TWT '22 Finals will mark the end of TEKKEN 7's competitive season, such a major occasion seems like a perfect time for Bandai Namco to drop a new TEKKEN 8 trailer or announcement. While there's no guarantee of a TEKKEN 8 reveal at this time... it definitely won't hurt to tune in. That said, be sure to stay tuned on Fighters Generation for continued coverage and upcoming announcements!
