PC Version of DOA5:
Last Round is Missing Features, Up to 3 Months Delay For Online

PC fighting game ports
these days are far and few between, and they're usually delayed by months (or
even years). A lot of PC ports also seem to come with problems not found in the
console versions or they're missing
features, as is the case with DOA5:LR. According to the specs on Team
Ninja's website, DOA5:LR on PC will be without the Soft Engine, PS4/XB1
"effects", the 2 new stages found in the PS4/XB1 versions, and up to a
3 month delay for netplay.

No Cross-Region Netplay For MKX
on PSN
|
|
While the hype building
up for MKX has been strong, the past two days have revealed a bit of bad
news. First the delay for the PS3/360 ports, and now the
announcement of "region-locked" online multiplayer (on PSN), as confirmed today
by MKX producer Shaun Himmeric. What this means is: Players from
North America can't play with those from Europe (or other regions) and vice
versa. Due to this, some fans are speculating on the quality of MKX's
netcode. (Source: SRK)

Delayed Until "Summer 2015" on PS3/360

When it comes to
multi-platform fighting game releases, it seems like last-gen ports are getting
the shaft more and more. Warner Bros. confirmed today that MKX will be delayed
on PS3 & Xbox 360 until Summer 2015. The good news is, MKX will still
be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on the original release date, April 14th. Ed Boon
did state early on in the game's development that they are "focused solely on the
PS4/XB1 ports" (so you can't say he didn't warn you).

|
|
Bandai Namco and TEKKEN
Producer Harada held a special TEKKEN 7 broadcast event in Japan. The
45-minute Youtube
broadcast contains several interesting tidbits if you're hyped about TEKKEN
7. Firstly, the game's cinematic "slow-mo" feature is highlighted
at 3:10. When both players are in danger of a K.O., the camera zooms in as
slow-mo activates. This can result in an epic finish, but both attacks can also
miss... resulting in yet another slow-mo sequence.

the fight with a throw. Many will be easily accessible, but some Brutalities
will require stricter conditions.

his fighting style, which is described as "unique" by the publication.

Arcade Version Opening Movie
|
|
With the arcade
"pre-launch" of TEKKEN 7 now only one week away for Japan,
producer Katsuhiro Harada has released the opening
movie for the arcade version. The intro movie has Kazuya and Heihachi
Mishima fighting it out on a volcano (appropriately), with conviction to end to
the long-running Mishima saga once and for all. The intro also shows the full
face of Kazumi (Kazuya's mother), and once again portrays that Kazuya received

Arcade Cabinet Preview Image, Time Release System For New Characters
|
|
Namco has shared a
preview image
of the ultra-sleek TEKKEN 7 arcade cabinet. Once again, TEKKEN 7
arrives in arcades on Feb. 18th. Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that a character time
release system for the arcade version will be in place. If it's anything like TEKKEN 5's (which also had 20 base
characters) we can assume that new figters will be released in the coming
months. In retrospect, after TEKKEN 5's arcade launch, there were 10
characters released after a period of 3 months.

Kung
Lao Returns in Mortal Kombat X, Gets a New Face
|
|
Finnish gaming magazine
"Pelaaja" has spilled the beans on Kung Lao's appearance in Mortal
Kombat X. The latest issue (officially releasing tomorrow) shows a few screenshots
of Kung Lao in MKX. The prequel, MK9, had Kung Lao die in the
story mode... so could this be a "new" Kung Lao we're seeing in MKX?
(Considering MK lore, this wouldn't at all be surprising). Also notice that Kung Lao's face in MKX looks completely different from MK9's.
