Capcom Shares Happy New Year 2023 Artwork

To bring in 2023 and celebrate the company's 40th anniversary this year, Capcom released two Happy New Year 2023 illustrations featuring characters from Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Exoprimal, and Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. Fighting game fans should appreciate the fact that Street Fighter 6 characters take center stage in the first artwork (below), with Luke stealing the spotlight in the very front (as he appears to be taking a selfie to capture the moment with his Capcom friends). Behind Luke, we can also see Ryu, Chun-Li, Jamie, and Li-Fen from SF6.

In addition, Capcom posted another "chibi" style Happy New Year 2023 illustration by Machi Tanemiya on Twitter today (via @CAPCOM_AWT). This smartphone wallpaper artwork also features characters from the same franchises mentioned above. Kimberly from Street Fighter 6 even joins in on the celebration this time!

With 2023 shaping up to be a historic year for fighting games, it's great to see Capcom continuing to promote Street Fighter 6 as one of the company's most prominent modern titles. This hasn't always been the case in recent years... with the latest Resident Evil and Monster Hunter titles being among two of Capcom's best-selling and most popular franchises during the SFV era.

Finally, Happy New Year 2023 from The Fighters Generation. Thanks for reading and supporting this website. Please continue to stay tuned for much more fighting game news and announcements coming in 2023!
