SNK Opens Mai Shiranui Pop-Up Shop in Tokyo

In Tokyo, SNK recently opened up a Mai Shiranui-themed pop-up shop at the Akihabara Container to celebrate the SNK heroine's birthday (which is officially listed as January 1st, 1974). The SNK pop-up shop has a wide variety of interesting Mai Shiranui merchandise available for sale, including: t-shirts, artwork, fans, tote bags, buttons, and more. The Mai Shiranui store will be open from December 26th, 2019 until January 6th, 2020. EVO Japan 2020 x Hi Score Girl Collaboration

The manga / anime Hi Score Girl is a love letter to fighting games and the community (and it's really a must watch for any kind of fighting game fan). In January 2020, EVO Japan will be collaborating with the team behind Hi Score Girl to bring exclusive swag and merchandise to the event. While no specific products or announcements have yet been revealed, the first piece of artwork to celebrate the collaboration was shared by "Markman" Mark Julio.

Akuma Announced as the Next Playable Character Joining Teppen, Cinematic Trailer, Evil Ryu Skin

With a new cinematic trailer, Capcom announced Akuma as the next playable character to join Gung Ho's free-to-play mobile card battle game, Teppen. Also shown in the trailer, the recently announced "Force Seekers" expansion will add new cards and a new gameplay mechanic. Additionally, an Evil Ryu skin was revealed for Ryu and Oni Akuma makes an appearance in the new trailer.

Ip Man, Donnie Yen's Influence on TEKKEN 7's Leroy Smith

A YouTuber known as Spike Ricky put together an amazing video compilation that compares footage from the Ip Man films to TEKKEN 7's Leroy Smith. Portrayed by Donnie Yen, many of Ip Man's authentic Wing Chun techniques were direct inspiration behind Leroy Smith's strikes, counters, and throws. After comparing the side by side footage, anyone can appreciate Bandai Namco's attention to detail on Leroy's animations! A must watch for any martial arts / fighting game fan.

Samurai Shodown Wan-Fu Gameplay Reveal Trailer

SNK released the gameplay reveal trailer for Wan-Fu, the final Season 1 DLC character of Samurai Shodown (2019). Most similar to his Samurai Shodown II roots, the 2019 version of Wan-Fu has him fighting his adversaries with a giant stone pillar once again. SNK also confirmed Wan-Fu's release for this Wednesday, December 18th. Take a look at Wan-Fu's gameplay reveal trailer and see if it brings back any Samurai Shodown II nostalgia. Wan-Fu's trailer even plays a remix of his classic SS2 theme!

SFV: Champion Edition Dec. 2019 Balance Update Patch Notes

A major balance update for Street Fighter V is available today and Capcom has posted the full patch notes. In addition to many individual character buffs and nerfs, overall changes such as Health and Stun adjustments are implemented in the December 2019 patch. Specifically, all characters have received 25 more points of health and 50 points higher stun, which aim to lengthen the duration of matches.

SFV: Champion Edition Reveals Seth in New Gameplay Trailer

Street Fighter IV's final boss Seth has been confirmed as the second newcomer of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition's roster, joining Gill. Plot twist... and possibly the most interesting part... it appears the default version of Seth will be an all new "female" version of the design. As demonstrated in "her" official gameplay trailer, Seth can now attack her opponents with a special grab move - which then allows her to perform at least one of their unique special moves / abilities!

Granblue Fantasy Versus Season 1 Fighter Pass Adds Chaos Bringer, Narmaya, Soriz, & Djeeta, Belial Joins in Season 2

Today, we've got some big Granblue Fantasy Versus news. SIX new characters have been confirmed for Arc System Works' 2.5D fighter. Season 1's Character Pass will add Chaos Bringer & Narmaya in March 2020, with Soriz & Djeeta joining in April 2020. One more unannounced fighter will complete the Season 1 roster in 2020. Secondly, a second Character Pass has been confirmed for Season 2, adding Belial to the game. The Joker Joins Mortal Kombat 11 on Jan. 28th, New Teaser

At The Game Awards '19, a short teaser trailer for upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighter, The Joker, was shown. The 20-second trailer shows an updated appearance for Joker in MK11, differing from his "younger" version first revealed in the Fighters Pass trailer. Joker's teaser trailer has no gameplay, but The Joker exchanges some words with Cassie Cage, who is appropriately dressed in her Harley Quinn DLC costume. The end of the trailer confirms Joker will join MK11 on January 28th.

Harada Wants to Know if Fans Still Want TEKKEN X Street Fighter

On Twitter, TEKKEN series producer Katsuhiro Harada posted a (light-hearted) poll asking if fans are still excited for the mysteriously delayed title, TEKKEN X Street Fighter. It's a fair question to ask, with TEKKEN 7 still dominating the competitive scene and SFV: Champion Edition announced for early 2020. TEKKEN 7 continues to grow player numbers online and tournament players with each consecutive year - which is the opposite of what happens with most fighting games.

Here's a roundup of the latest Granblue Fantasy Versus official character gameplay trailers by Arc System Works and Cygames, this time featuring Vaseraga, Zeta, Metera, and Lowain. Each minute-and-a-half-long trailer starts off with several noteworthy bullet points about each fighter's playstyle, and follows up with brand new gameplay footage of the latest build of the game (and showing off some of the most recently added stages).

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition New V-Skill 2 Footage

All characters in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be receiving new V-Skill techniques. Here's a compilation of the latest video footage from Capcom's recent stream showing off a variety of characters using their new V-Skill 2. To name a few: Urien now has his "Indignant Thunder" which resembles his super move projectile from SFIII: 2nd Impact / 3rd Strike. Birdie's V-Skill 2 is called "Chewing Time" which has him using bubble gum to blow a giant bubble at his opponents.

TEKKEN 7 Version 3.10 Full Patch Notes

TEKKEN 7 version 3.10 is now live on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. While Leroy Smith and Ganryu remain locked until the official launch date tomorrow (December 10th), Season 3's new feature Punishment Training and several character balance updates are now live! New TEKKEN 7 Illustrations of Leroy Smith, Ganryu & Zafina by Junny, Jbstyle, and Other Bandai Namco Artists

In addition to new playable characters Leroy Smith and Ganryu, today's TEKKEN 7 update adds new customizations and several brand new character artwork panels to the game, including the latest illustrations by returning artists, Junny and Jbstyle. New 2D artworks for Zafina, Ganryu, Leroy Smith (and Sugar) have been added to their respective TFG character profiles and TEKKEN 7 art galleries. Check out all of the new artwork inside!

TEKKEN 7 Leroy Smith, Ganryu & New Muay Thai Character Fahkumram Revealed at TWT '19, Update Coming Dec. 10th

Preceding the TEKKEN 7 top 8 at TWT '19, producer Michael Murray and Katsuhiro Harada took the stage in Bangkok Thailand - and in traditional fashion, hyped up the crowd with some hot TEKKEN 7 announcements and trailers. For starters, watch Leroy Smith's badass Wing Chun in his full gameplay reveal trailer. (Spoiler Alert?) Ganryu is back and also got his own trailer! Leroy Smith, Ganryu, and DLC13 Frame Data Display will all be available next Tuesday, Dec. 10th, 2019!

Granblue Fantasy Versus Ladiva Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Arc System Works released the latest character gameplay trailer for Granblue Fantasy Versus. Pro-wrestling? 80's theme song? Muscles? 360 throws? Ladiva brings a hilarious balance of "love" and muscle power to GBVS... "she" even brought her own referee for her super move. Easily one of the most obscure characters to appear in Arc System Works' upcoming 2.5D fighter, Ladiva's flashy moveset looks to entertain wrestling fans who plan on entering the world of GBVS early next year!

Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang Has a Fighting Game Releasing on Steam This Month

Some say Facebook and Russia meddled in the 2016 election. Next year in 2020... a fighting game could sway a few votes for Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang. In September of 2019, Andrew Yang stated on Twitter that he "spent his teenage years playing Street Fighter 2 in New Hampshire." Now in December, somehow, an actual fighting game called "Andrew Yang: Path To Presidency" is planned for release on Steam. (Yeah, it's actually on Steam. Watch the trailer inside!)

Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[cl-r] Londrekia Trailer #2

After the UNIST finals at EVO '19, French Bread announced Under Night In-Birth: EXE Late[cl-r] and debuted the trailer for the game's first confirmed newcomer, Londrekia.  "The Frozen Fang of Eternity" now has a second trailer, showing more of his playstyle in the latest version of the game. Under Night In-Birth: EXE Late[cl-r] is said to add "over 1000" balance changes as well as new moves for returning characters.

"SNK 40th Anniversary Fan Book" Now Up For Pre-Order, Cover Illustration by Eisuke Ogura

A new official SNK art book has been revealed and is now up for pre-order on Amazon Japan. Celebrating the company's 40 year history, "SNK Anniversary Fan Book" will be released in March 2020. The cover illustration is the latest by veteran SNK artist, Eisuke Ogura, and features some of SNK's most recognizable characters from the company's rich history. (My favorite part of the illustration might be Ralf Jones and Clark Still in their original Ikari Warriors attire.)

TWT 2019 TEKKEN 7 Finals This Weekend in Bangkok, Thailand, Major Balance Update Coming Mid December

This weekend on Dec. 7th-8th, the TEKKEN World Tour 2019 will come to its epic conclusion in Bangkok, Thailand with the TEKKEN 7 global finals. A massive prize pool of $250,000 is up for grabs courtesy of Bandai Namco, Astrogaming and KOF: All Star. All your favorite TEKKEN commentators and pro players will be in attendance, in addition to producer Harada and Michael Murray. On that note, Harada-san recently mentioned a major balance update is planned for mid December.

The King of Fighters: All Star x TEKKEN 7 crossover event is now underway in all versions of Netmarble's hit mobile beat-em-up RPG! If you have the International / English version of KOF: All Star installed, you'll be greeted to a new KOF x TEKKEN 7 intro screen on your next login. The long-awaited crossover event kicks off by allowing you to choose either Jin Kazama (Classic) or Iori Yagami (KOF '98) to join your party.

Arc System Works and Cygames recently launched new character trailers for the Granblue Fantasy Versus roster. The new trailers run about a minute and a half, and include some interesting bullet points about each fighter's playstyle. The trailers also use the latest build of the game, which means you'll be seeing the very latest moveset tweaks, along with several brand new stages and background details for fans of the game's beautiful 2.5D aesthetics.

Bandai Namco dropped a new trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ's upcoming DLC fighter, Broly (Dragon Ball Super version). The latest trailer also officially announces the release date of Broly (DBS), who will make his way to the game on December 5th, 2019. Broly's unique Dramatic Finish is also shown near the end of the trailer.

New Gameplay System Mechanics Coming to Soul Calibur VI, Season 2 Begins November 25th

During Project Soul's "developer VS pro player" broadcast, Soul Calibur 6 producer Motohiro Okuba unveiled details on several brand new gameplay mechanics coming to SC6 in Season 2. The new battle system mechanics include "Soul Attack" (a powerful attack that uses the entire Soul Gauge) and "Resist Impact" (a new defensive system that uses half of the Soul Gauge). In addition, the character/stage selection screens and health gauges will get a visual redesign...

During the ArcRevo America World Tour, Arc System Works finally revealed the official title for the new installment of Guilty Gear coming 2020. "Guilty Gear -STRIVE-" is set to reenergize the series with enticing new 2.5D visuals, a gameplay engine overhaul, redesigned returning veterans, and exciting newcomers we're anxious to learn more about. The first official trailer for Guilty Gear Strive runs through all returning veterans we know about so far... and teases the return of Faust.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Announced, Includes New V-Skills, 40 Characters & More, Gill Reveal Trailer

At the CPT 2019 NA Regional Finals, Capcom announced Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and revealed the almighty Gill as the first new character of Season 4. Launching Feb. 14th, 2020, SFV: Champion Edition will be sold as a package containing all SFV content to date, including 34 stages, 200+ costumes, 40 characters (confirming there's one more character after Gill), and new V-Skills for all returning characters. KOF: All Star x TEKKEN 7 Character Gameplay Trailers

Today, Netmarble uploaded the KOF: All Star X TEKKEN 7 gameplay trailers for Jin Kazama, Armor King, Ling Xiaoyu, Paul Phoenix, Kazuya Mishima, and Heihachi Mishima... all who will be playable in KOF: All Star beginning on November 19th (in Japan). Each of the TEKKEN fighters has access to a selection of their trademark attacks in Netmarble's mobile beat-up-up RPG, and can also perform their unique Rage Art (AKA Special Skill) when a Battle Card is equipped.

Mortal Kombat 11 Sindel Gameplay Reveal Trailer

This morning, NetherRealm Studios debuted Sindel's full gameplay reveal trailer. Over 2-minutes long, Sindel's trailer includes a story interaction with Nightwolf and previews a good amount of Sindel's moveset and one of her Fatalities. Sindel will become available on November 26th (early) for Kombat Pack owners; she will be released as DLC for everyone else on Dec. 3rd. The end of the trailer also reveals "Gothic Horror Costumes" and a klassic Cassie skin coming soon to the game.

Kazuki Kazama Joins Samurai Shodown Nov. 18th, Gameplay Trailer

The new character joining Samurai Shodown (2019) this month is Kazuki Kazama. SNK just confirmed Kazuki will be added to the game's roster next Monday, November 18th. With a soundtrack that resembles the style of Japanese guitarist Miyavi, check out Kazuki Kazama's official gameplay reveal trailer from SNK. Just under 1 minute long, Kazuki's trailer runs through some of his returning attacks and previews his fiery cinematic super move.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Premium Edition Revealed, Full Details

Q1 2020 is shaping up to be an amazing year for gaming. One fighting game coming in Q1 2020 is Granblue Fantasy Versus, and it's one that 2D fighting game fans definitely shouldn't miss out on. Today, Marvelous Games announced a GBVS Physical Premium Edition for 59.99 which includes a Soundtrack CD, Art Book, Premium Box and more, up for pre-order on Dec. 3rd. Additionally, the Digital Character Pass Set (adding 5 new characters) and Digital Deluxe Edition will be available on PSN.

TEKKEN 7 Balance Update 3.03 is Live, Patch Notes

Bandai Namco rolled out a new balance patch for TEKKEN 7 which addresses game balance for the following characters: Zafina, Dragunov, Negan, Shaheen, and Akuma. Over the past few months, Akuma in particular has been making waves in the TEKKEN 7 competitive scene with an incredibly strong start to Season 3. Version 3.03 gives Akuma a respectible nerf, reducing his overall meter gain by 25%. On the other (Azazel) hand, Zafina received several damage and frame advantage buffs.

The King of Fighters: All Star x TEKKEN 7 Crossover Event Begins Soon, Official Character Art / Battle Cards

It might be a while before a true "KOF x TEKKEN" crossover fighting game ever gets announced, but Netmarble's hit mobile RPG / beat-em-up KOF: All Star is about to kick off the first ever crossover event between these two iconic series. On their official site, Netmarble released KOF: All Star x TEKKEN 7 character artwork for the playable TEKKEN cast along with Battle Cards "coming soon" to the game. Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Armor King, Paul, and Xiaoyu will be playable!

While Terry Bogard is burning up front page gaming news like wildfire, the new King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown Mii Fighter Costumes added in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate might've gone under the radar for some. Dragon Ball FighterZ Broly (DBS) Gameplay Trailer

Bandai Namco released the the official gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ's next DLC fighter, the Dragon Ball Super movie version of Broly. The latest trailer offers a look at some of DBS Broly's moveset and ridiculous power. As we previously reported, Broly (DBS) has his "Blaster Meteor" Super Special Attack and "Gigantic Roar" Meteor Attack. Broly (DBS) will be available for purchase individually and is part of the DBFZ FighterZ Pass 2

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Celica & Susanoo Trailers

On November 21st, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will receive its Version 2.0 update, adding 9 new characters to the game. Arc System Works released the final two character introduction trailers for BBTag Ver. 2.0, highlighting Celica A. Mercury and Susanoo from the BlazBlue series. Like other returning characters, Celica and Susanoo will play similarly to their previous versions but will also feature some new tweaks and updates.

Terry Bogard Now Available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This morning, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai showcased Terry Bogard on Nintendo's live stream and announced the Fatal Fury hero is now available for download! The King of Fighters stage was also added to the game and features a ton of KOF character cameos in the background. Smash Ultimate's 6.0.0 update also adds Mii Fighter Wigs / Outfits based on Ryo Sakazaki, Iori Yagami, Nakoruru, Akira Yuki, and Jacky Bryant.

Samurai Shodown (2019) Nintendo Switch Trailer #2

Back in June, 2019's Samurai Shodown reboot launched on PS4 and XB1. Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to jump into the new Samurai Shodown when the game launches in Japan on December 12th, 2019. With the Switch port arriving soon, SNK dropped a new trailer for the Nintendo Switch version, showing some gameplay on Switch along with footage of the NEOGEO Pocket version of Samurai Shodown 2! - an added bonus when purchasing the game (confirmed for Japan).

Guilty Gear 2020 Chipp Zanuff & Potemkin Reveal Trailer, Over 1 Hour of Gameplay, PS4 Closed Beta

With an exciting new new trailer, Arc System Works revealed Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin will be returning in Guilty Gear 2020. Chipp and Potemkin join Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, and Axl Low as the 6 playable characters featured in the upcoming ARCREVO America 2019 demo. Additionally, a PlayStation 4 closed beta is planned for Spring 2020. ASW also confirmed the final version will have both English and Japanese voiceovers.

Soul Calibur 6 Adds Hilde in Season 2, Reveal Trailer

After the conclusion of the Soul Calibur 6 World Invitational tournament, producer Motohiro Okubo took the stage to announce the newest character to join Season 2's roster. Originally debuting in Soul Calibur 4, Hilde will enter Season 2 of Soul Calibur 6 with her short sword and spear. Hilde will also have her own Soul Chronicle story chapter and customization items when she becomes available.

Capcom Merchandise Store Opens in Tokyo This Month

On November 22nd, 2019, Capcom is opening a new merchandise store in Japan called Capcom Store Tokyo. The store is opening PARCO Shibuya, the same building where the famous Pokemon Center Shibuya and Nintendo Tokyo store are located. Capcom Store Tokyo will be offering exclusive merch from T-shirts & plushies to Capcom-themed candy, and even Monster Hunter & Phoenix Wright perfume. Shinkiro even created a special illustration for the store's grand opening...

The History of Marvel Vs. Capcom's Special Partners

Desk recently uploaded an informative and fun-to-watch video all about Marvel Vs. Capcom's "Special Partners". The first installment of MVC featured 21 playable characters and 22 non-playable Special Partners who can jump in for an assist attack. Desk's 16-minute video covers every Special Partner and their history in classic Capcom games. The video even goes into detail about how some Special Partners eventually became playable in later games.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Adachi Gameplay Trailer

Later this month, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be updated to Verdion 2.0, adding 9 new characters to the roster. Arc System Works posted the latest character gameplay / character intro trailer today, this time for Persona 4 Arena's Tohru Adachi. The new 1-minute trailer covers some of Adachi's moveset and updates.

Evolution 2020 Reveal Trailer, Official Dates Announced

Today on Twitter, Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar announced the official dates for next year's Evolution Championship Series. EVO returns to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 31st - August 2nd. While the official games lineup has yet to be revealed, the EVO 2020 trailer shows footage from last year's tournaments in TEKKEN 7, SFV: Arcade Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, and Soul Calibur VI, pretty much confirming these games will be returning in 2020.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Hilda Gameplay Trailer

Arc System Works is back with another 1-minute character introduction trailer for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0. This time, check out some gameplay from Hilda, the original boss of Under Night In-Birth. Those familiar with Hilda's moveset will see many of her specials return, in addition to some brand new techniques. On November 21st, Hilda joins 8 other new characters coming in BBTag's Version 2.0 update.

Capcom Plans to "Revive Dormant IPs" Due to Success of Devil May Cry 5, RE2 Remake & Monster Hunter World 

Love or hate Street Fighter V... there's no denying Capcom has had a very successful 2019 with their critically-acclaimed high-selling action, action RPG, and survival horror titles leading the way. Namely, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Monster Hunter World were all massive hits, selling over 18.5 million units collectively. Due to this recent success, Capcom stated that they are planning to "revive dormant IPs" which could end up being great news for fighting game fans.

TEKKEN 7 Season 3 Winter Update Includes In-Game Frame Data, Punishment Training Features, Harada Costume

During this weekend's Tokyo TEKKEN Masters 2019, Bandai Namco announced new modes and features on the way to TEKKEN 7 this Winter. For starters, Practice Mode will be upgraded with an all new "Punishment Training" feature, making it easier for players to learn how to properly punish and counter attacks for every move and character. My Replay & Tips mode will also teach players ways to punish. A new in-game Frame Data Display feature will also be implemented...

Samurai Shodown (2019) Arcade Launch Confirms Sogetsu

Today, the arcade version of Samurai Showdown (2019) launches in Japan. On the official website for the game, arcade players logging into their NESiCAxlive2 accounts spotted an unconfirmed (until now) upcoming DLC fighter for the game on the website's top banner. In November, Samurai Shodown IV's Kazuki Kazama is set to arrive in the new Samurai Shodown as the next DLC fighter. The leaked image has confirmed Kazuki's brother, Sogetsu, will also be coming to the title.

The King of Fighters: All Star Now Available on iOS / Android

The Netmarble-developed action RPG, The King of Fighters: All Star, is now available to download worldwide on iOS / Android. Beginning in July 2018, SNK & Netmarble have updated KOF: All Star with a vast amount of new playable characters, events, and costumes. Netmarble confirmed they will be updating the worldwide edition at a similar pace to the original Japan & Korea versions. Dragon Ball FighterZ Broly (DBS) First Screenshots

Bandai Namco released brand new HD screenshots of Dragon Ball FighterZ's upcoming DLC fighter, Broly, from his appearance in the Dragon Ball Super (2018) animated movie. While the original version of Broly is already a playable character in DBFZ, the Broly (DBS) will have an entirely different look and playstyle. Broly (DBS) has a Super Special Attack called "Blaster Meteor" and "Gigantic Roar" is his Meteor Attack. No official release date for Broly (DBS) has been announced.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Blitztank Introduction Trailer

One of the most menacing and distinctive new characters arriving in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 is definitely Blitztank. Originally from the 2D fighting game Akatsuki Blitzkampf, this uniquely-shaped, electrical-powered tank can jump, crouch, shoot various projectiles, and overwhelm opponents with its firepower and heavy armor. Arc System Works' latest BBTAG character intro trailer runs through some of Blitztank's abilities, strengths, and special moves.

SNK's Nobuyuki Kuroki Interviewed by Unreal Engine on Samurai Shodown's Jump from 2D to 3D Graphics

In a new interview with the guys over at Unreal Engine, SNK Art & Game Director Nobuyuki Kuroki discusses the shift from 2D to 3D and the strategy behind bringing Samurai Shodown into the modern era. In the interview, Kuroki reflects on the series 20 year history, elaborates on the development and artistic direction of the new game, and explains how the UE4 engine was used to create the graphics, character models, and stages.

Riot Games League of Legends 2.5D Fighting Game First Look

First announced at EVO '19, Riot Games has finally shed some light on their mysterious 2.5D fighting game in development... currently titled "Project L". In their 10th Anniversary YouTube video, Riot published the first ever gameplay and details about their upcoming League of Legends themed fighter. Details are scarce at the moment, but the first gameplay footage & screenshots confirm playable characters: Darius (Male axe user) and Ahri (female mage).

Skullgirls: 2nd Encore Comes to Nintendo Switch October 22nd

An "instant cult classic" 2D fighting game series is finally making its way to Nintendo Switch. A version of Skullgirls was originally slated for a 2018 Switch release, but was mysteriously delayed until now. Publisher Skybound Games announced that Skullgirls: 2nd Encore will be available for purchase on October 22nd, 2019 as a digital title. The official Nintendo product page confirms the digital Switch edition of Skullgirls: 2nd Encore will cost $24.99.

Guilty Gear (2020) Axl Low Gameplay Trailer

At SEAM 2019, Arc System Works debuted a gameplay reveal trailer for the latest character to be announced for Guilty Gear (2020), Axl Low. Arc System Works also announced the first playable demo of the new Guilty Gear will be available at ARCREVO America 2019. In addition to Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, and Axl Low... 2 additional characters will be revealed soon and playable in the upcoming demo. The next character reveal trailer will debut on Arc Live on Nov. 3rd (6PM PST).

Soul Calibur VI Season 2 New Moves Trailer

Bandai Namco unveiled a new Soul Calibur VI trailer at SEAM 2019. The 2-minute long trailer highlights brand new moves for every character in the game. Like TEKKEN 7 Season 3, all returning characters will get new attacks and balance updates. Soul Calibur VI Season 2 will also feature a crossover with the Samurai Shodown series, adding Haohmaru to the roster. Bandai Namco hasn't announced the release date for Season 2, but we might learn more at the SC6 World Invitational.

Samurai Shodown Basara Gameplay Trailer, Joins Roster Oct. 15th

SNK has announced October 15th as the release date for Samurai Shodown 2019's next DLC character, Basara Kubikiri. SNK posted Basara's full gameplay reveal trailer, previewing the SSIII veteran's classic fighting style and demonic special moves. Like nearly all other returning characters, Basara plays closely to his original "Slash" version from prior games. However, Basara does have his "fake shadow" clone technique from his "Bust" version.

All Mortal Kombat 11 Dialogue Intros Featuring The Terminator

The Terminator T-800 is now available in Mortal Kombat 11 for those who purchased the Kombat Pack. MKIceAndFire put together a video compilation showing all of The Terminator's pre-fight dialogue intros with the rest of the cast. Even if you're not a serious fighting game / Mortal Kombat 11 player, you can appreciate MK11's presentation and polish during these entertaining pre-fight scenes.

New Samurai Shodown (2019) Character Artwork for Basara, Kazuki, Wan-Fu, Rimururu & Shizumaru

SNK's official SamSho 2019 website posted new character art / bios for upcoming Season 1 DLC characters Basara, Kazuki, and Wan-Fu - in addition to Shizumaru & Rimururu (who are currently available). Basara is the next DLC character arriving in Samurai Shodown (2019) this month. Although Basara's exact release date hasn't been announced, the Oct. 15th release date for the previously reported SamSho X Puzzle & Dragons crossover costumes could possibly include Basara.

Samurai Shodown X Puzzle & Dragons Crossover DLC Costumes Revealed for Samurai Shodown (2019)

Samurai Shodown (2019) is getting its first batch of crossover costumes on PS4. SNK is once again collaborating with Gungho-developed puzzle RPG series, Puzzle & Dragons, revealing new in-game costumes for Genjuro Kibagami and Shiki based on the P&D characters, Fangjin and Pazdra. The DLC costumes release in Japan (possibly worldwide) on Tuesday, October 15th. Each DLC costume costs 300 yen each. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Neo Politan Trailer

Today, Arc System Works debuted a new gameplay trailer for one of the 9 new DLC characters coming soon to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. RWBY's Neo Politan demonstrates her unique style of fighting utilizing her umbrella with a concealed blade (not unlike Shizumaru from Samurai Shodown). The quick 1-minute gameplay trailer provides a quick rundown of Neo Politan's special moves and how to perform them.

The King of Fighters: All Star Releases Worldwide on October 22nd, Pre-Registration Now Open

SNK just announced the Western / worldwide release date for the Netmarble-developed action RPG, KOF: All Star. The game officially launches for Android & iOS on October 22nd, 2019. Pre-registration is currently open on the official website (and it's free)! Early adopters can receive unique rewards & missions for pre-registering. KOF: All Star originally released in Japan in July 2018 and features a large playable roster, awesome artwork, beat-em-up style gameplay, new PVP mode, etc.

Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator Gameplay Reveal Trailer

The time has come for the world to see Arnold Schwarzenegger... in a fighting game. Well, Mortal Kombat 11's T-800 Terminator isn't actually voiced by Arnold himself, but the doppelganger who does Arnold's voice in the game sounds pretty much, mostly like him. This morning, NetherRealm Studios unveiled Terminator T-800's full gameplay reveal trailer, check it out! T-800's moveset is full of shotguns, teleports, headbutts, and traditional ass-kicking you'd expect from The Terminator.

Axl Low Confirmed for Guilty Gear 2020, May Gameplay Trailer

Tonight, Arc System Works shared May's official gameplay trailer for Guilty Gear 2020, giving fans the first glimpse of May's reimagined appearance and fighting style. Secondly, the end of May's trailer confirms the return of another series veteran, Axl Low. Arc System Works announced that the next Guilty Gear 2020 trailer will debut at SEA Major 2019 in Singapore (Oct. 12th-13th).

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Yumi Trailer, New Gameplay

Launching on November 21st, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle: Special Edition / 2.0 will add 9 playable characters to the 2D crossover's roster. Arc System Works posted some gameplay footage of one of the brand new characters coming to BBTAG in 2.0, Yumi from Senran Kagura. In addition to seeing the first gameplay of icy cold Yumi, take a look at over 1 hour of new gameplay featuring Blitztank, Akatsuki, Adachi, Celica, Susanoo, and others.
