SoulCalibur VI Version 2.10 Full Patch Notes

Bandai Namco has released the official English patch notes for Soul Calibur 6's update 2.10, now rolling out on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In addition to compatibility support for Haohmaru and his stage, Gairyu Isle, version 2.10 adds new Creation parts (several based on Samurai Shodown's Kuroko), a second new stage (Master Swordsman's Cave), battle adjustments, online mode improvements, and more.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Djeeta Gameplay Reveal Trailer

This morning, Cygames uploaded the Granblue Fantasy Versus gameplay reveal trailer for upcoming Season 1 DLC character, Djeeta. The female "silent protagonist" of the original Granblue Fantasy RPG, Djeeta could potentially be considered the "Ken" of the cast - if you consider Gran as the "Ryu". However, Djeeta's gameplay trailer reveals she's much more than just that, demonstrating the swordswoman's variety of distinguishing traits and special moves.

Samurai Shodown Coming to Epic Games Store in Spring 2020

Fans who haven't already picked up Samurai Shodown (2019) on PS4, XB1 or Switch might still be waiting for news from SNK about the PC release. While it was assumed SNK's 2.5D weapon-based fighter would be coming to Steam this year, Epic Games confirmed Samurai Shodown is coming to the Epic Games Store in Spring 2020 - likely an exclusive. So far, SNK hasn't confirmed whether or not it will be an Epic Games Store exclusive.

SoulCalibur VI Haohmaru Release Date Announce Trailer

This morning, Bandai Namco released a new SoulCalibur VI trailer with brand new gameplay footage of Samurai Shodown guest character, Haohmaru, and finally announced his release date! Haohmaru joins SoulCalibur VI Season 2 on March 31st, 2020. The new trailer shows off tons of new moves from the SNK veteran, including his classic Tenha Seiou Zan super move, a multi-hit combo string (a la SS4), several throw techniques, and a deadly Lightning Blade slash.

Samurai Shodown Sogetsu Kazama Gameplay Trailer

Tonight, SNK released a 40-second gameplay reveal trailer for returning Samurai Shodown IV veteran, Sogetsu Kazama (brother of Kazuki). In his official trailer, Sogetsu demonstrates some very familiar abilities from past installments he appears in, still using a variety of elemental attacks and stylish slashes with his unique curved blade. Sogetsu joins Samurai Shodown's roster on April 2nd.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Soriz Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Cygames dropped the latest Granblue Fantasy Versus gameplay trailer starring the next fighter of Character Pass 1, Soriz. Arriving April 7th, Soriz shows off a hard-hitting hand-to-hand martial arts based fighting style in his reveal trailer. Humorously, Soriz can transform into a Fundoshi-wearing badass (major Heihachi TEKKEN 4 vibes). New GBVS story content and a new stage will also be added along with Soriz.

Sega Opens 60th Anniversary Website, No Virtua Fighter Announcement

Not surprisingly, Sega's teaser from a few days back wasn't anything related to Virtua Fighter after all. Sega's (arguably cruel) teaser was only to announce the opening of their new 60th Anniversary website, which looks at the history and timeline of Sega as a company. Sega chairman Haruki Satomi also provided a message to fans, "The year, 60 years will have passed since Nihon Goraku Bussan Co. Lid., the predecessor of Sega, was established on June 3, 1960.

TEKKEN 7 Fahkumram Official Artwork by Junny & Jbstyle

Today, the intimidating 7'5" Muay Thai powerhouse Fahkumram joins TEKKEN 7, bringing the game's roster to 49 fighters. Feast your eyes on some badass and beautiful high-res official 2D artwork of Fahkumram drawn by the amazingly talented Junny and Jbstyle. TEKKEN 7 Version 3.30 Full Patch Notes

Title update 3.30 for TEKKEN 7 Season 3 is now available for download on Steam, PS4, and XB1. The 7'5" Muay Thai powerhouse, Fahkumram, officially joins the game tomorrow on March 24th. Version 3.30 includes balance changes for 18 characters on the roster, in addition to expanded functionality / bug fixes for  the following modes: Practice, Frame Data Display, and My Replay & Tips. Several new customization items were also added. See the full patch notes inside!

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Millia Rage & Zato-1 Reveal Trailer

Tonight, Arc System Works confirmed Millia Rage and Zato-1 for Guilty Gear -STRIVE- in the way of a kick-ass gameplay reveal trailer. The return of these two series veterans completes the original Guilty Gear character roster (with the exception of Baiken, Kliff & Justice). In the trailer, Zato-1 and his shadow demon "Eddie" are back with a vengeance, showing all kinds of insane new abilities. Of course, Millia still fights with her hair and shows off some new tech with her projectile.

TEKKEN 7 Season 3 Fahkumram HD Screenshots

Fahkumram is coming to TEKKEN 7 Season 3 next Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, bringing the game's roster up to 49 combatants. Bandai Namco released a fresh batch of screens featuring the Muay Thai powerhouse and his multi-tiered Thailand stage. The new HD screenshots provide a closer look at Fahkumram's alternate costumes, badass tats, and intimidating scars. The dude is clearly a monster and you already know he's gonna be a force to reckon with in TEKKEN 7

Sega is Teasing "Something" to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

A silhouette of a man in a Karate gi appears in a teaser image posted today on Sega's official website. The teaser says (in Japanese) that an announcement will be made by Sega on March 25th... but regarding what? The text in the image translates to "6 days until birth". At first glance, the inclusion of the "6" would immediately make Sega fans hopeful for a Virtua Fighter 6 announcement. Before you get your hopes up for VF6, the teaser mostly relates to Segata Sanshiro.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- PS4 Closed Beta Announced for April

Arc System Works announced a closed beta for Guilty Gear STRIVE is planned for April 16th-19th on PlayStation 4. The beta version will feature 7 playable characters: Sol, Ky, May, Axl, Chip, Potemkin, and Faust. Arc System Works also noted that the PS4 beta will include the "revised" character selection screen and in-game user interface. Better yet, ASW confirmed the release version of Guilty Gear STRIVE will use rollback netcode for online play!

TEKKEN 7 Fahkumram Release Date Announce Trailer

Today, Bandai Namco revealed the release date for Fahkumram in the form of a new TEKKEN 7 gameplay trailer. The Muay Thai specialist joins TEKKEN 7 on March 24th, 2020. Fahkumram's new trailer demonstrates more hard-hitting techniques from the traditional Muay Thai fighter and shows off his alternate costumes. We also get to see some more of Fahkumram's Thailand stage, which features a balcony break and a floor break.

SFV: Champion Edition Capcom Pro Tour 2020 DLC Revealed

Coronavirus (COVID-19) might've canceled the better part of FGC gatherings in the near future, including several Capcom Pro Tour 2020 events... but that hasn't stopped Capcom from announcing upcoming Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Capcom Pro Tour 2020 content - which includes new costumes for Gill and Lucia, new colors for the entire cast, and the new CPT 2020 stage. Take a look at Capcom's new trailer highlighting the upcoming CPT 2020 content.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Now Available on Steam

Unlike many other Arc System Works fighting games in recent memory, there wasn't a long gap between the release dates of the PS4 and PC versions for Granblue Fantasy Versus. As of March 13th, Granblue Fantasy Versus is available now on Steam for $59.99 with an average review score of "Very Positive". Character Pass 1 is also available for $29.99, with additional color pack sets available from $1 to $3.

TFG Webmaster here... like many others who have fond memories of the PS1 era, I've been a passionate fan of Final Fantasy VII since the game's original launch back in 1997. FFVII is part of who I am as a gamer. The characters, the world, the soundtrack, the story, and everything that followed greatly inspired me back then, and continues to. Dead or Alive 6 Tamaki Gameplay Trailer, Contest Costume DLC

Koei Tecmo released the official Dead or Alive 6 gameplay reveal trailer for upcoming Season 4 character, Tamaki, who demonstrates some of her Aikido holds and strikes. Tamaki's DOA6 reveal trailer shows the swimsuit model / fashion designer in a variety of outfits, including some potentially NSFW scantily clad attire! (What do you expect, it's DOA.) Additionally, Koei Tecmo posted a second trailer revealing the 2019 Costume Contest winners (and upcoming DLC costumes).

TEKKEN 7 5 Years Later, Dengeki Interviews Katsuhiro Harada

Dengeki Online recently sat down with TEKKEN series producer Katushiro Harada for a lengthy but very interesting interview about TEKKEN 7's lifespan and history. Believe it or not, TEKKEN 7's location tests began in late 2014, with the arcade version "pre-launch" in February 2015. A fighting game to last competitively for 5 years and still see increasing player numbers is a rare occurrence, and TEKKEN 7's breakout success wasn't originally anticipated by Bandai Namco.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge New Trailer

A new trailer for the animated film Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge debuted at Final Kombat 2020. The new 2-minute trailer previews more scenes from the movie, shows many classic characters, and confirms Scorpion's Revenge will indeed contain blood and gore, complete with a "Rated R" rating. The NSFW trailer even shows some X-ray moves & Fatalities. The movie will be released digitally starting April 12th and comes to DVD/Blu-Ray/Ultra HD on April 28th.

Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Tonight at Final Kombat 2020, NetherRealm Studios debuted the official Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay reveal trailer for the final DLC character of the Kombat Pack, Spawn. The early 90's antihero shows off what he can do in MK11 gameplay, toting machine guns, chains, and hellfire, and even a float mechanic. Early Access for Spawn begins on March 17th for those who purchased the Kombat Pack DLC. Spawn's full release for everyone else is March 24th.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Character Pass 1 Trailer, 4K Gameplay of Soriz, Djeeta & Zooey

This morning, Arc System Works released a crispy 4K QUALITY trailer for Granblue Fantasy Versus' Character Pass 1. Take a first look at the remaining 3 newcomers of GBVS Season 1: Soriz, Djeeta and Zooey, shown in gameplay! We get to see a few seconds of Soriz's hand-to-hand "martial arts" based fighting style (which already looks sick). Djeeta shows off some special moves similar to Gran, and 5th DLC character Zooey makes her appearance near the end.

Dead or Alive 6 Screenshots of New Character Tamaki

Koei Tecmo recently announced Tamaki as the newest character to join Dead or Alive 6. Famitsu shared the first screenshots & details about Tamaki, and we now know her fighting style is Aikido. Inside, check out the first HD screenshots of Tamaki in a variety of outfits. Tamaki originally appeared in the DOA Xtreme: Venus Vacation spinoff title. Tamaki is included in DOA6 Season Pass 4 which costs $90.

TEKKEN World Tour, Soul Calibur World Tour Events Postponed

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues its path of disruption amid growing concerns, causing numerous cancellations of esports events and other public gatherings across the world. The latest events to be effected are Final Round and Norcal Regionals, both removed as official qualifying events for both TEKKEN World Tour and Soul Calibur World Tour 2020. The MIXUP event in Lyon, France has also been postponed to July 18-19.

NetherRealm Studios Cancels Final Kombat 2020 LCQ Last-Minute Due to Coronavirus

Originally set for this weekend, Last Chance Qualifier event Final Kombat 2020 has been canceled due to growing concerns over Coronavirus. NRS's last-minute cancellation (under 24 hours before the actual event) is especially unfortunate, since 100's of players already traveled to Chicago for the event and checked into their hotels. WB Games told attendees with non-refundable travel charges to contact them on Twitter. It's a pretty bad situation all around...

Keanu Reeves & Robert Downey Jr. in MK11 Deepfake

A YouTuber known as BabyZone decided that there weren't already enough celebrities in Mortal Kombat 11. Using creepy but impressive "Deepfake" editing technology, BabyZone superimposed the faces of Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey Jr. onto MK11 cutscenes featuring Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The shockingly realistic visual effect is amplified with pretty decent voice impersonations by Allen Jones and Michael Gutierrez.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Fifth DLC Character Leaked

The fifth and final DLC character of Granblue Fantasy Versus' first Character Pass has been leaked. Zooey will join Soriz & Djeeta to complete the first wave of DLC characters coming to the game. (Arc System Works confirmed a second Character Pass is planned). While there's currently no release window for Zooey, Soriz and Djeeta are expected to join GBVS in April 2020, Granblue Fantasy Versus' first Character Pass is now available for download!

Granblue Fantasy Versus Narmaya & Chaos Bringer DLC Now Available, Narmaya Gameplay Trailer

Granblue Fantasy Versus has officially launched on PS4 in North America. Boss character Chaos Bringer and the first DLC fighter for the game, Narmaya, are now available. Chaos Bringer / Beelzebub can be unlocked for free by completing the game's RPG Mode (but can be purchased as DLC for $2.99 if you want early access), and Narmaya can be purchased for $6.99. The first GBVS Character Pass is $29.99 which includes Chaos Bringer, Narmaya, and 3 additional characters.

Tokyo Tekken Masters 2020 Postponed Due to Coronavirus

Another FGC event has been impacted by the Coronavirus scare, this time postponing a major stop of the TEKKEN World Tour 2020. Bandai Namco Esports confirmed on Twitter that the Tokyo Tekken Masters tournament (originally planned for April 4th-5th, 2020) has been postponed until a later date due to the Coronavirus scare. "Stay tuned for updates as we continue to monitor the situation closely," said Bandai Namco.

3 Capcom Pro Tour Events Canceled Amid Coronavirus Fears

Unfortunately, fear surrounding the coronavirus outbreak has already made a dent on eSports events and large public gatherings worldwide. It was only a matter of time before FGC events would see an impact. Today, Capcom announced on Twitter that 3 Capcom Pro Tour events have been canceled. Sadly, Brussels Challenge 2020, Norcal Regionals 2020 and April Annihilation 2020 have all been removed from the tour. See Capcom's official statement inside:

Mina Majikina Arrives Before Samurai Shodown Season Pass 2, SNK Apologizes on Twitter

The first DLC character of Samurai Shodown Season 2, Mina Majikina, is now available for download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $5.99. However, the game's Season Pass 2 has not yet been made available for purchase. SNK apologized to fans on Twitter for any inconvenience this caused. "We'll make sure the price evens out in the end, " said SNK on Twitter. Read SNK's official statement inside:

Dragon Ball FighterZ Free DLC Character Trials, Kefla Now Available, Patch Notes 1.21

This week, Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting some exciting updates, including new playable character Kefla (available now). Bandai Namco is also now offering free trials for DLC characters in DBFZ. The first three DLC characters that fans will get to try out for free include Janemba, Cooler, and Super Saiyan Broly. Additional free DLC character trials will be available in the future. Bandai Namco also released update 1.21 for the game, and here are the full patch notes.

TEKKEN World Tour 2020 Announcement Trailer, TEKKEN 7 Finals Take Place Dec. 12-13 in New Orleans, USA

Bandai Namco recently announced the official locations and schedule for the TEKKEN World Tour 2020. The TWT 2020 announcement trailer shows some hype moments from last year's global event and reveals 6 new participating locations for 2020. The first stop this year will be at Tokyo Tekken Masters on April 4th-5th. The tour will come to its conclusion on December 12th-13th in New Orleans, USA.

Dead or Alive 6 New Character Tamaki Teaser Trailer

Koei Tecmo announced Dead or Alive 6 will be getting a new playable character to be released with the game's fourth Season Pass. The new character is named "Tamaki" and previously appeared as a swimsuit model in Koei Tecmo's Dead or Alive: Xtreme Venus Vacation spin-off title. The teaser trailer for Tamaki shows no gameplay but shows her in a swimsuit on the DOA6 beach stage. Koei Tecmo also released a new trailer for the Gust crossover "mashup" costume pack.

Mega Man Zero Takes the Spotlight as TEPPEN's Newest Hero

Capcom's mobile card battle game TEPPEN has introduced several new Capcom "Heroes" since launch, including Jill Valentine and Akuma. Zero from the Mega Man series is the next Hero character to join TEPPEN in March 2020, bringing along with him new cards and a new gameplay mechanic called "Memory". Capcom's reveal for Zero features some cool new illustrations and a "Haunted by Memories" cinematic trailer showing Zero's backstory.

Samurai Shodown! 2 Pocket Included Free with Pre-Order of Samurai Shodown (2019) on Nintendo Switch

NEOGEO Pocket Color has a special place in the hearts of SNK fans. While the system didn't sell particularly well at launch and didn't see a huge library of games, many of the exclusive & unique titles that released only on NGPC contain charming fan service and are definitely worth a revisit if you enjoy SNK game & characters. SNK Global confirmed that those who pre-order Samurai Shodown (2019) on Nintendo Switch before Feb. 25th will also receive SS2! Pocket as a free download.

Todd McFarlane Unveils Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn Figure

On Twitter, Todd McFarlane told fans he "can finally show it!" ... unveiling an impressively detailed, articulating Spawn action figure is coming soon - a figure directly based on Spawn's design from his upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 appearance. McFarlane Toys confirmed the 7" Spawn figure has 22 points of articulation and will be on sale in March 2020. Take a close-up look at the figure is these full-size images, inside:

TEKKEN 7 Sold 5 Million Copies Worldwide, Updated Takuji Kawano Illustration

On Twitter, TEKKEN series producer Katsuhiro Harada announced that TEKKEN 7 has now sold over 5 million copies since its launch in June 2017 (as of December 2019). Harada added that this marks over 49 million copies sold for the entire TEKKEN series. As with past milestones for the game, artist Takuji Kawano updated the celebratory artwork by adding all of Season 3's characters to the illustration.

Dragon Ball FighterZ 4-Minutes of Kefla Gameplay

Today, Bandai Namco shared a new gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ's first new character of Season 3, Kefla. The 4-minute trailer is actually a full match, featuring Kefla, Jiren and Hit facing off against Goku (SSGSS), Vegeta (SSGSS) and Freiza. The new trailer provides the closest look yet at Kefla's moveset, animations, and cinematics. Universe 6's Kefla will bring some girl power to DBFZ when she becomes available on February 26th.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Chaos Bringer Reveal Trailer

Granblue Fantasy Versus is off to a very solid start with 150,000+ copies sold in Japan on PS4. Today, Cygames released the official reveal trailer for Chaos Bringer (AKA "Beelzebub"). A boss character in GBVS, Chaos Bringer's 2-minute trailer is filled with all kinds of epic - showing off the first ever gameplay footage of this godlike boss. Players can unlock Chaos Bringer either by completing RPG Mode or purchasing him via DLC.

Samurai Shodown Mina Majikina Reveal Trailer, Release Date

Today, SNK revealed the full gameplay trailer for the first new DLC character coming in Season 2 of Samurai Shodown (2019), Mina Majikina! A skilled archer, Mina uses sharp arrows and expert aim to penetrate her opponents from a variety of angles. Veteran SamSho players might remember Mina was a ridiculously over-powered character in SSV, later toned down in SSV: Special. In her only "new" version since her 2003 debut, Mina brings her original look & fighting style into the new 3D engine.

Primal Rage Stop Motion Animation Development Footage

In 1994, Primal Rage wowed arcade fighting game fans with its unique visuals created by utilizing 3D clay figures and "hand-crafted" stop motion animation. (This old school animation technique was also used for the creation of Goro in the original Mortal Kombat.) On Twitter, a user named PixelCount Matt posted a rare behind-the-scenes video of Primal Rage's early development, showing the process behind animating the game's giant prehistoric characters.

Rare Video of Norimaro's Hilarious MSH Vs. Street Fighter Motion Capture by Japanese Comedian Noritake Kinashi

Norimaro is a beloved fighting game guest character appearing only in the Japan versions of Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter. The character was the hilarious result of a collaboration between Japanese comedian, Noritake Kinashi, and Capcom's design team for 1997's Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter. In a rare video posted on Twitter by @felineki, the Japanese comic is seen doing the actual motion capture used in the making of Norimaro's 2D sprite in the game.

Granblue Fantasy Versus was the Top Selling Video Game in Japan Last Week

Just over 1 week ago, Granblue Fantasy Versus launched in Japan on Monday, February 3rd, 2020. Famitsu reported that GBVS on PS4 was the top-selling video game in Japan last week, during the time period of February 3rd - February 9th, 2020. With an estimated 86,248 copies sold since launch, Granblue Fantasy Versus had one of the strongest opening weeks for a modern fighting game in recent memory. TEKKEN 7 Balance Update 3.21 Full Patch Notes, Leroy Nerfs

Bandai Namco kept their promise and released the second part of Leroy balance patch ahead of schedule! TEKKEN 7 Version 3.21 will release on Steam, PS4 and XB1 today, and "Round 2" of Leroy nerfs are HERE: Full Patch Notes. Kefla Announced for Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3, Ultra Instinct Goku Gameplay Reveal

Following the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour grand finals, the game's producer Tomoko Hiroki went onstage to announce Kefla for Season 3, and debuted the first gameplay footage of Ultra Instinct Goku. The Season 3 Reveal Trailer also confirms 3 additional (unannounced) DLC characters will be released alongside Kefla and Ultra Instinct Goku in Season 3. Guilty Gear STRIVE JAEPO 2020 Gameplay Exhibition

During this weekend's 2020 Japan Amusement Expo, Arc System Works hosted Guilty Gear -STRIVE- gameplay exhibition featuring some pro-level players. Series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari and battle director Akira Katano were in attendance alongside GGXrd pros FAB, Samitto, Roy, and Ain. While GGStrive looks stunning and players who've tried the early build are enjoying it, many have reacted negatively towards the game's plain UI. The devs have confirmed this is just a placeholder...

Dragon Ball FighterZ Adds Z-Assist Select in Season 3, Enabling 3 Assist Attacks Per Character

A major update is on the way to Dragon Ball Fighter Z for Season 3. Very similar to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2's assist system, DBFZ Season 3's upcoming "Z-Assist Select" features 3 different assist attacks per character. In an official Season 3 Battle Update trailer, Dragon Ball FighterZ  producer Tomoko Hiroki talks about the upcoming gameplay update. The reveal trailer shows footage of the Z-Assist Select System on the character select screen and includes a gameplay demonstration as well.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Teaches Fighting Game Slang

Granblue Fantasy Versus launched today on PS4 in Japan, as fans with Japanese PSN accounts are currently enjoying and learning more about Arc System Works' shiny new 2.5D fighter. One of the new interesting features discovered in GBVS is a "fighting game slang" Glossary section, explaining well-known terminology for high-level gameplay tech... terms made popular by typical FGC conversations. "Okizeme?", "Buffering?", "Meaty?" Rushdown that shit and let ASW teach you the ropes!

EVO 2020 Official Games Lineup Revealed

Veteran EVO tournament organizer, Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar, revealed the official games lineup headlining EVO 2020: TEKKEN 7, SFV: CE, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur VI, Samurai Shodown, UNICLR, and Smash Ultimate. In addition, to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary, EVO 2020 will host a special Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 tournament. Former EVO champs Justin Wong, Duc Do, Sanford Kelly and IFC|Yipes will be invited to compete in a 8-man tournament.

SFV: Champion Edition Free Trial with 39 Characters Now Available on PlayStation 4 and Steam, Ends Sunday

Starting today, Capcom is giving fans a chance to try out Street Fighter V: Champion Edition with all 39 characters available for a full week! The SFV: Champion Edition free trial is currently free to download on PlayStation 4 and Steam and will be available from Monday, February 3rd all the way until Sunday, February 9th, 2020. Once again, the full game will be available for purchase for $30 and includes 40 characters, 34 stages, and 200+ costumes.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Comes to North America March 3rd

With a new English version trailer, XSEED Games announced Arc System Works' Granblue Fantasy Versus is releasing in North America on March 3rd, 2020. There will be both a Standard ($59.99) and Premium ($79.99) Edition of the game available at launch. Like the international versions, the physical North America Premium Edition includes an art book, soundtrack, color pack DLC, avatar set, exclusive PS4 theme, special content for the mobile game, and premium box with exclusive art.

SFV: Champion Edition Seth Moveset Official Preview, Tanden Engine Showcase Videos 4 & 5

Capcom released a full 15-minute video preview of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition's Seth, showing off much more of the returning SFIV boss's moveset. Capcom's Matthew Edwards (The Street Writer) and Kim1234 provide their commentary throughout the video, explaining more about Seth's all new incarnation in SFV. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge Trailer

Warner Bros and IGN released the official trailer for the upcoming animated film, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. The R-rated feature-length straight-to-home-video movie takes storyline inspiration from the 2011 reboot (Mortal Kombat 9) and will be releasing on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital in Spring 2020. Several voice actors from previous movies and games will reprise their roles in Scorpion's Revenge, including Kevin Michael Richardson as Goro.

TEKKEN 7 Leroy Smith & Fahkumram Developer Interview

A few days back, Bandai Namco uploaded a Japanese developer interview with producer Michael Murray and director Kouhei Ikeda talking about TEKKEN 7's newest combatants, Leroy Smith & Fahkumram. Bandai Namco America uploaded the English subtitled version of the video interview today, which also shows some early concept art for Leroy and Fahkumram and some brief (new) gameplay footage of the upcoming Muay Thai fighter. TEKKEN 7 Version 3.20 Full Patch Notes

Bandai Namco released the full character balance patch notes for TEKKEN 7's Version 3.20 update (releasing tomorrow). As expected, newly released DLC character Leroy Smith received a healthy dose of nerfs, toning down certain OP moves of his. Once again, the all new My Replay & Tips mode will also arrive with TEKKEN 7's 3.20 patch. Today, Michael Murray also stated on Twitter that there will be a "more thorough" balance patch releasing in mid February.

TEKKEN 7 My Replay & Tips, Balance Patch Coming January 28th

After the conclusion of TEKKEN 7's grand finals at EVO Japan, Bandai Namco's Michael Murray announced the release date for TEKKEN 7 Season 3's new feature: My Replay & Tips, in addition to the next character balance update (Leroy nerfs incoming). My Replay & Tips mode allows players to save their replays and includes new features (possibly camera angle editing). Tips will also appear onscreen during replays when punish opportunities are missed to help players learn.

Samurai Shodown (2019) Reveals Iroha for Season 2, Mina Majikina Joins Roster This February

At EVO Japan 2020, SNK revealed the third DLC character coming in Season 2 of Samurai Shodown (2019), returning Samurai Shodown 6 / Tenka heroine, Iroha! A new teaser trailer shows the first gameplay footage of Season 2's Mina Majikina (who will join the game this February) along with Sogetsu Kazama. A mysterious fourth character "silhouette" for Samurai Shodown Season 2 was also revealed in the latest trailer.

Soul Calibur VI EVO Japan Haohmaru Gameplay Reveal Trailer

On Day 2 of EVO Japan 2020, Bandai Namco unveiled Haohmaru's Soul Calibur VI gameplay reveal trailer. The long-awaited Soul Calibur x Samurai Shodown crossover is finally at hand! As expected, Haohmaru looks absolutely awesome in SCVI's graphics engine. The trailer also previews Haohmaru's stage, Gairyu Isle - a beautiful environment straight out of the Samurai Shodown series. Haohmaru is the second (out of four) DLC characters planned for SCVI Season 2.

Mortal Kombat 11 All Joker Intros, References & Easter Eggs

Mortal Kombat 11 features some of the most impressive pre-fight character interactions to date. NetherRealm's recent Kombat Kast livestream showed a bunch of The Joker's interactions with other characters, which contain witty references to other NRS games like Injustice and even Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. Some pre-fight Easter Eggs even pay homage to Batman / DC movies, referencing Joaquin Phoenix, Heath Ledger, and Jack Nicholson's iconic Joker portrayals.

Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[cl-r] New Trailer, DLC Upgrade Details

The update to Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st] is releasing on Feb. 20th in North America and Japan (Feb. 21st in Europe). Arc System Works released a new trailer for the ridiculously named Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[c-lr] on YouTube. The Japanese trailer runs through the updates & new modes for the console version, including Tutorial and Gallery. Granblue Fantasy Versus Opening Movie, Western Release Date

In just two weeks, Granblue Fantasy Versus launches on PS4 in Japan on February 6th, 2020. Those of us in the west only have to wait a little longer to get our hands on the game. [UPDATE] XSEED Games announced that Granblue Fantasy Versus will be releasing in North America on March 3rd, 2020. Code Mystics Updates Garou: Mark of The Wolves with Rollback Netcode on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Vita

The developers of the most recent Garou: Mark of the Wolves console ports, Code Mystics, announced that the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Steam, and GOG versions of the game have been updated with improved rollback netcode. This is great news for competitive players looking to play some smooth Garou: MOTW online matches in 2020! The rollback netcode patch is completely free and is available for download now!

Mortal Kombat 11 Version 1.14 Official Patch Notes

NetherRealm Studios and WBGames posted the full patch notes for Mortal Kombat 11's January 21st update (Version 1.14). Movelist corrections, online stability improvements, bug fixes, character balance changes, and new Brutalities have been added in Version 1.14. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge Animated Film Coming in 2020

Mortal Kombat series creator Ed Boon recently announced on Twitter that an animated movie based on the lore of Scorpion will be releasing in the first half of 2020. Titled Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, the animated film will feature voice talent from Mortal Kombat X and Injustice: Gods Among Us, including Patrick Seitz (MKX Scorpion) and Steve Blum (Sub-Zero). Take a look at the official logo and voice actor list inside, which confirms a variety of other MK characters.

Ultra Instinct Goku Revealed for Dragon Ball FighterZ

A scan from V-Jump magazine confirms "Ultra Instinct Goku" is the next DLC character coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ. While a "Season 3" of DBFZ hasn't been officially announced by Arc System Works (yet), Ultra Instinct Goku might be leading the way as the first new character of an upcoming roster / game update via DLC. The DBFZ World Tour Finals is less than one month away - taking place in Paris, France on February 8th-9th, so we'll find out more soon enough.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Faust Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Tonight at Frosty Faustings, Arc System Works did a play on the Illinois tournament's own name by revealing Faust for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-. Redesigned to be creepier than ever, the head-turning series veteran shows insane new attacks along with some old ones in his gameplay reveal trailer. As with past Guilty Gear -STRIVE- trailers, Arc System Works debuted yet another hype hard rock tune from the official soundtrack. Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is planned for a Late 2020 release.

Mortal Kombat 11 The Joker Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Today, NetherRealm Studios debuted the Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay trailer for the game's upcoming DLC character, The Joker. As you might expect, Joker's MK11 incarnation might be his most violent ever. Joker's blood-spattering gameplay trailer previews some of the sinister tricks up his sleeve, and concludes with a Fatality sure to be appreciated by old school Mortal Kombat fans. Joker joins MK11's roster on Jan. 28th for Kombat Pack owners and on Feb. 4th for everyone else.

Pro TaeKwonDo Competition in South Korea Now Uses TEKKEN Style Life Bars to Keep Score

Point-based martial arts competitions can be difficult to follow for casual spectators. The official Korea TaeKwondo Association recently debuted an impressive new piece of technology which implements "fighting game style" life bars (most closely resembling TEKKEN's) into a live martial arts tournament. Wearable sensors on each competitor's chest and head gear deduct points from their life bar on the big screen - all in real time!

Capcom is back with two new videos showing SFV: Champion Edition's Seth using his/her Tanden Engine "Install" technique. In the second Showcase video, Seth uses the Tanden Engine to install the moves of Ryu, Cammy, Necalli & Vega. In the third video, Seth absorbs the moves of Sakura, Ed, Gill, and Kolin. Check out both new Tanden Engine Showcase videos inside! Arc System Works Announces Code Shifter, a 2D Action Platformer w/ Playable Guilty Gear & BlazBlue Characters

Arc System Works announced Code Shifter, a 2D action platformer coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam in Q1 2020. The game features 8-bit style pixel art and a huge "crossover" roster of playable characters (and remixed soundtracks) from a variety of franchises, including: Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, River City, and Double Dragon. In addition to a single player story mode, Code Shifter features a free-for-all 4-player battle mode.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Video Reveals RPG Mode Shop

2020's upcoming Arc System Works 2.5D fighter Granblue Fantasy Versus will contain a full-fledged RPG mode with huge boss battles, co-op gameplay, weapon unlocking, and more! Cygames revealed a first look at the RPG mode shop, where you can buy new weapons, character colors, and more from Sierokarte's shop. You can unlock weapons by completing " quests" in RPG mode, but you can also purchase directly from Sierokarte.

SFV: Champion Edition Female Seth Tanden Engine Showcase 1

On Twitter, Capcom released a new video series for SFV: Champion Edition's Seth using his/her Tanden Engine "Install" technique. This move allows Seth to use one of the opponent's special moves, which ends up creating interesting combo opportunities for the returning SFIV boss. It's officially 2020... first off, Happy New Year! This year, we will be getting several new (and potentially great) fighting games - one of those being an all new Guilty Gear title. To say Happy New Year to fans on Twitter, Arc System Works shared a Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Sol Badguy illustration drawn by female artist, Konomi Higuchi. One of Arc System Works' premiere artists, Konomi is well known for her charismatic BlazBlue character designs and vibrant illustrations.

SNK Opens Mai Shiranui Pop-Up Shop in Tokyo

In Tokyo, SNK recently opened up a Mai Shiranui-themed pop-up shop at the Akihabara Container to celebrate the SNK heroine's birthday (which is officially listed as January 1st, 1974). The SNK pop-up shop has a wide variety of interesting Mai Shiranui merchandise available for sale, including: t-shirts, artwork, fans, tote bags, buttons, and more. The Mai Shiranui store will be open from December 26th, 2019 until January 6th, 2020.
