New TFG Affiliate: HIROAKI Official Blog, 2020 Buriki One Art

The Fighters Generation is proud to announce a new TFG affiliate: HIROAKI Blog! Old school SNK fans will immediately recognize the stunning and vibrant artwork of professional Japanese illustrator, HIROAKI, who most recently created official character art for games such as SoulCalibur VI and Deadly Premonition 2. As the lead artist of SNK's 1999 fighting game, Buriki One, HIROAKI has drawn and posted artwork for each character on their birthday to celebrate...

"Guilty Gear x The King of Fighters" Crossover is Happening in KOF '98: Ultimate Match Online

Before you get overly excited... it's not a fighting game, unfortunately. However, Guilty Gear characters are on the way to the mobile RPG title, KOF '98: Ultimate Match Online, marking the first ever crossover for these two iconic series. Sol-Badguy, Ky Kiske, Baiken, and Dizzy are confirmed as playable characters complete with 2D sprites in the game, and are visually based on their GGXrd REV2 iterations

TEKKEN 7 Kunimitsu Screens, TTT2 Classic Costume Confirmed

Bandai Namco shared a new batch of screenshots to get fans even more hype for Kunimitsu II arriving in TEKKEN 7 Season 4. In addition to her new attire, the daughter of the original Kunimitsu will have her mother's TEKKEN Tag 2 costume available to her in T7. If you're familiar with T7's customization, you'll know that you can separate each costume part in Customize mode for use individually - which can make for some nicely aesthetic combinations.

KOF 2002: UM Rollback Netcode Beta Test Begins in October

A fan-favorite installment of The King of Fighters is getting a rollback netcode upgrade on Steam courtesy of Code Mystics the same team behind the rollback update for Garou: Mark of the Wolves. On Twitter, SNK announced an open community beta test for the Steam version of The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match. The open beta will begin this Thursday, October 1st and will be live for two full weeks, ending October 15th.

TEKKEN 7 Sells Over 6 Million Copies Worldwide, New Celebratory Illustration by Takuji Kawano

During the reveal of Kunimitsu joining Season 4, Harada and Michael Murray announced TEKKEN 7 has now sold over 6 million copies since launch. Through the game's widespread success in the competitive scene and at esports events worldwide, TEKKEN 7 far succeeded its original sales expectations, selling even more copies in 2018 and 2019. The upward trend has continued, and Takuji Kawano has graced us with another brilliant 2D illustration...

Kunimitsu TEKKEN 7 Season 4 Reveal Trailer, New Details

Ahead of the official announcement, we have confirmation that Kunimitsu is the first new character joining Season 4 of TEKKEN 7. In addition to the return of the veteran kunoichi, a new stage set in Japan called "Red Gates" will be added with Kunimitsu in Q4 2020. Another new S4 character & stage will be added in Q2 2021. Additionally, Season 4 will bring an Updated UI, Improved Online Experience, Renewed Rank System, Tekken Prowess Feature...

SFV: Champion Edition Dan Hibiki Gameplay Preview

Today at the Tokyo Game Show 2020, Capcom demonstrated the next DLC character coming to SFV: CE, Dan Hibiki. The full 2-minute gameplay preview for Dan runs through his normal attacks, special moves, basic combos, V-Skill, and... Taunts! (Dan has a lot of taunts in SFV with goofy facial expressions to match.) Similar to Sakura, Dan can now charge his Gadoken and send it further across the screen. The trailer concludes with Dan's Super Taunt!

TGS 2020: "Virtua Fighter x eSports" Teaser Trailer

During Sega's Tokyo Game Show 2020 presentation, a teaser trailer titled "Virtua Fighter x eSports" was shown. The beginning of the trailer highlights footage from past Virtua Fighter pro competitions in Japan. More interestingly... the end of the trailer reveals a highly detailed (and assumedly new) 3D model of VF icon, Akira Yuki. This is indeed the closest thing to a "VF6 teaser" or hint at a "VF Reboot" that we've ever seen from Sega.

Lady Geese Howard is Coming to KOF: All-Star

"You cannot escape... Rule 63." SNK Heroines needs a sequel at this point... considering how many SNK fan-favorites have been given gender-swapped versions in The King of Fighters: All-Star. The latest character to receive the Rule 63 treatment is Southtown big boss, Geese Howard. The official artwork of female Geese in KOFAS is actually an early leak (via datamine), but we'll likely see the official reveal / gameplay trailer from Netmarble very soon.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Season 2 Released, Belial Now Playable, Full Patch Notes

Season 2 of Granblue Fantasy Versus officially begins today! Boss character Belial is now available alongside the download of the Ver. 2.01 update. Additionally, the Season 2 update includes: Online Mode enhancements, new weapons added to RPG Mode, updated System Mechanics, and Balance Updates for the entire roster. Samurai Shodown (2019) Coming to Xbox Series X

During day 1 of the Tokyo Game Show 2020, Microsoft announced SNK's latest fighting game, Samurai Shodown (2019), will be coming to Xbox Series X and the digital-only version of Microsoft's next-gen console, Xbox Series S. No release date or further details were provided during the announcement. As reported back in August of this year, Season 3 of Samurai Shodown is now in development.

On Twitter, TEKKEN series producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that Bandai Namco will be revealing new information and details about TEKKEN 7 Season 4 during the Tokyo Game Show 2020. Harada-san and Michael Murray will be appearing on the official TEKKEN Twitch stream to make the announcement this Saturday at 6:00PM PT.

PlayStation 5 Will Have 4 USB Ports, Accessories, Launch Price & Release Date Revealed

Although no fighting games have been announced for PlayStation 5 just yet, many fans are already gearing up for a new generation of gaming. When PS5 details were first announced, fighting game tournament organizers & participants were concerned about PS5's single USB port located on the front of the system. Thankfully, PS5 will be equipped with 4 USB ports (3 USB A ports and 1 USB-C port), making the system tournament ready when the time comes.

Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka Art Exhibit Announced in Japan, Promo Illustration by Bengus

"Capcom Vs. Osamu Tezuka" is not a fighting game... but it is an upcoming Art Exhibit set to take place in Japan on October 23rd, 2020. The event will be held in Takarazuka City, Hyogo and will feature works from a variety of artists to celebrate characters from both worlds. Osamu Tezuka is a Japanese manga artist who created Astro Boy, Metropolis, Apollo's Song, Kimba the White Lion, and many others. Check out official promo artwork drawn by Bengus, inside!

Ryu is Getting a SFEX2 / FEXL Inspired Kairi Costume in SFV: Champion Edition

On Twitter, Capcom announced a new collaboration with Arika, revealing a crossover costume for Ryu based on fan-favorite SFEX2 / FEXL character, Kairi. From his long silver hair to the intimidating scar over his left eye, this Kairi costume for Ryu seems like a perfect fit (and looks badass)! Players will be able to unlock Ryu's Kairi costume in Extra Battle mode starting this Wednesday, September 16th. Check out some HD screenshots of Ryu's Kairi costume inside!

SoulCalibur VI v2.25 Full Patch Notes

Bandai Namco has rolled out SoulCalibur VI update version 2.25. The official patch notes reveal the full contents of the update, which include a new Jack-O'-lantern customization item, performance fixes, balance adjustments, matchmaking improvements, and a variety of nerfs/buffs for the cast.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Master Roshi Extended Gameplay Trailer

Bandai Namco posted the full gameplay reveal trailer for upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3 character, Master Roshi. The extended trailer shows over a full minute of Master Roshi gameplay, revealing a lot more of his moveset. As previously reported, the turtle hermit has his Reverse Kamehameha, Thunder Shock Surprise, and Evil Containment Wave at his disposal.

SNK did it again... Another classic KOF character has received the "Rule 63" treatment in The King of Fighters: All-Star. It's been a while since Robo Army-inspired KOF veteran, Maxima, has been in the news. "New" Maxima has officially joined the battle in KOF: All-Star! Even if you haven't gotten into Netmarble's mobile RPG beat-em-up, old school fans should enjoy seeing this feminine take on Maxima's moveset. Twitch Prime has recently added even more SNK fighting games to their Amazon Prime Gaming service. For September, a total of 8 SNK titles are now available to play for free if you have an Amazon Prime subscription. Bandai Namco Unveils SoulCalibur VI Astaroth Concept Art

Bandai Namco recently unveiled all new SoulCalibur VI concept illustrations for several characters, including Season 2's recently released Setsuka. To celebrate Astaroth's birthday AKA "manufacturing date" today (September 3rd), Bandai Namco released stunning concept artwork of SC6 Astaroth and described the inspirations behind his beastly SC6 design. Legendary fighting game player, Daigo Umehara, is perhaps best known for his incredible Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike parry comeback against Justin Wong at EVO 2004. On Daigo's recent livestream, the legend shares his thoughts on Street Fighter Alpha 3's unique throw system and Guard Crush mechanic. Actor who Voiced Cyclops in X-Men: The Animated Series & the Marvel Vs. Games Has Passed Away

Following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) who passed away last Friday after a 4-year battle with Colon Cancer, we lost another Marvel legend this week. Canadian actor, Norm Spencer, known for voicing Cyclops in X-Men: The Animated Series and the Marvel Vs. games, has passed away. We learned of his passing after Cathal J. Dodd (the voice of Wolverine) posted a tribute to the actor on social media.

Capcom Shows SFV: Champion Edition Concept Sketches of Dan Hibiki & Oro

On Twitter, Capcom shared some additional concept sketches of Dan Hibiki and Oro to get fans excited about their upcoming appearances in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. These "rough" sketches differ from the earlier ones shown during the reveal. In Oro's sketch, we can see him once again holding his pet turtle which Capcom says he will be doing in gameplay. Street Fighter V Joins PlayStation Plus in September, Online PS4 Tournaments Announced for U.S. & Canada

Sony announced Street Fighter V will be included as part of the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for September 2020. SFV will be available to download from September 1st until October 5th. Additionally, Sony announced SFV online tournaments on PS4 which will  begin next week for players in the U.S. and Canada. Winners of the monthly finals could win a share of the $1,000 prize pool, in addition to "unique prizes unavailable anywhere else".

Netflix's new series High Score retells the colorful history of video games, spanning the genre's major evolutions during the '80s and early '90s. Bandai Namco Shares SoulCalibur VI Setsuka Concept Art

Today, Bandai Namco shared some beautiful new concept illustrations for Setsuka's new appearance in SoulCalibur VI. In addition to the new images, the dev team provided captions detailing some of the inspirations behind Setsuka's costume design. Her final costume design was meant to resemble "a blend of Japanese and Western style female fencer."  The haori, a memento of her master, was also an important element in her design.

TEKKEN 7 V3.33 Full Patch Notes, Fahkumram Nerfs

Today, Bandai Namco has rolled out the Version 3.33 balance patch for TEKKEN 7. In addition to balance adjustments for several characters - (including some long-awaited fixes for Fahkumram's lingering hitbox / hurtbox issues), V3.33 adds a "skip" function to Player Match lobbies, along with a new indicator showing when Random Stage is selected on the VS screen. SNK Allstar Now Available on Android in North America

SNK Allstar, the KOF spin-off Gacha game, which also includes real time strategy and other PVP/PVE gameplay, is now available to download on Android in North America.  SuperPrism Games announced the iOS version will be arriving later, but fans on Android can start kicking ass with their favorite KOF / Samurai Shodown / Last Blade characters in SNK Allstar starting today. The devs are also celebrating the recent birthday's of Ryo, Yamazaki & Andy with in-game content.

Yoshinori Ono is Leaving Capcom After 30-Year Career

Yoshinori Ono has been a producer of the Street Fighter franchise since 1998, originally a lead member of the Sound team for titles such as SFA3 and SFIII: 3rd Strike. Ono-san moved on to being lead producer of Capcom Fighting Jam, Street Fighter IV (series), SF x TEKKEN, MVC: Infinite, and Street Fighter V. Over the weekend, Ono-san announced on Twitter that he is leaving Capcom "this Summer".

Granblue Fantasy Versus Belial Gameplay Reveal, Season Pass 2 Roadmap

Arc System Works and Cygames announced Granblue Fantasy Versus villain, Belial, will join the game on September 24th as the first new DLC character of the game's Season Pass 2. Belial's official reveal trailer shows off some of the charismatic villain's dynamic animations and moveset, which look pretty awesome so far. The end of the trailer also confirms popular series character, Cagliostro, will join GBVS's roster sometime in October.

Capcom Reveals Akira from Rival Schools, Along with Rose, Oro, and Dan Hibiki for SFV: Champion Edition

Today, Capcom announced 4 out of the 5 new characters coming to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Season 5, along with the full roadmap into 2021! First up, Dan Hibiki joins the game this Winter alongside a New Battle Mechanic, New Battle Balance, and the new CPT 2021 stage. In Spring 2021, Rose and her stage will be added. In Summer 2021, Akira from Rival Schools will make a guest appearance and will bring another a new stage.

SoulCalibur VI Ver. 2.20 and 2.21 Full Patch Notes

Bandai Namco has posted the full patch notes for SoulCalibur VI's latest update. In addition to the arrival of Setsuka and the new Murakumo Shrine Grounds stage (available to all players for free), Update 2.20 includes: Yasha Creation items set, battle adjustments, new functions in several modes, Character Creation mode updates, and more. PS4 Fightsticks & Pads will be Compatible with PlayStation 5

Before we know it, the 2020 Holiday Season will be upon us... along with the worldwide launch of PlayStation 5. (According to the latest leak, the possible PS5 release date could be Nov. 20th with the console priced at $499). If you're still on the fence about picking up a PS5 at launch, there's some good news that may entice fighting game fans looking to be PS5 ready. SNK Allstar Open Beta Now Available in Europe 

Action / Card Battle game, SNK Allstar, is now available for download on Google Play in Europe. The open beta for SNK Allstar has officially launched on Android and is available for anyone to try. SuperPrism Games is also offering some "Server Opening" in-game events where users can unlock Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki for logging in daily. TEKKEN 7 and SoulCalibur VI Online Challenge Events Announced

During the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream, Bandai Namco announced official " Online Challenge" events for TEKKEN 7 and SoulCalibur VI. There are a total of 11 official online competitions announced TEKKEN 7, the first "pre-event" for North America kicking off in just two weeks on August 15th-16th (registration is open). The SoulCalibur World Tour website has 3 official tournaments listed so far, taking place in October and November.

Online Fighting Game Event "ARCREVO Online 2020" Announced for October, Promo Art by Cygames & Konomi Higuchi

In the wake of COVID-19, fighting game competitions are adapting from large venues to online. Arc System Works announced two upcoming online events, one for North America and one for Japan. ARCREVO Online 2020 will host a major online competition in a variety of games, including: Granblue Fantasy Versus, GGXrd REV 2, Under Night In-Birth, BBTAG, etc. The Cygames illustration team and ArcSys designer, Konomi Higuchi, also created some awesome promo art for the event!

Fighting EX Layer Rollback Netcode Update is Live

Legendary designer Akira Nishitani (Street Fighter II, Final Fight, SFEX) was present during this weekend's Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable to talk about the latest update for Fighting EX Layer. The game's latest update (1.14) will add Rollback Netcode to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, with early adopters already citing positive results to netplay. Arika's Ichiro Mihara also mentioned the team has an interest to add crossplay to the game...

Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 Confirmed, KOF XV News "Coming in the Near Future"

SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda and Art Director Nobuyuki Kuroki were both present at the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable. Following this week's reveal that Honor of Kings guest character Gongsun Li will be joining Samurai Shodown (2019) for free, SNK confirmed that Season 3 of the game is in development. This good news means we'll see another wave of returning and new characters join Samurai Shodown. SNK also mentioned that KOF XV news...

Leo Whitefang & Nagoriyuki Revealed for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, Coming to PlayStation 5

At the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable, Arc System Works revealed 2 new characters for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-. We finally get a closer look at the black samurai character who appeared in the debut trailer (and finally learn his name), Nagoriyuki. TEKKEN 7 Season 4 Announced, New Moves For All Characters & Online Improvements

Katsuhiro Harada officially revealed Season 4 for TEKKEN 7 during the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream. The first confirmed detail for Season 4 is a major update to game balance which will add new moves for all characters. Also confirmed are unspecified Online Play Enhancements along with a new "TEKKEN Prowess" score which will be displayed on player profiles. Setsuka Revealed For SoulCalibur VI Along with New Stage & TEKKEN Creation Parts

During the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream, Motohiro Okubo revealed returning fan-favorite character Setsuka for SoulCalibur VI. Confirmed in her reveal trailer, Setsuka will have her own Soul Chronicle story chapter and classic Creation parts. Some additional new Creation parts were also shown in the trailer, including some TEKKEN-themed content. Setsuka's Creation parts and the brand new "Murakumo Shrine Grounds" stage...

Samurai Shodown: NEOGEO Collection Now Available on PS4, Bundled with Samurai Shodown VI

Releasing on July 28th, Samurai Shodown: NEOGEO Collection has finally made its way to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The official PlayStation Blog recently posted an article on the compilation, once again detailing all of its features and visual enhancements. In addition to the 7 titles featured in the compilation, PSN is offering a special bonus by bundling in the PS2 Classic version of Samurai Shodown VI (Tenka) for anyone who pick up the game before Aug. 25th.

The King of Fighters: Awaken CG Movie Trailer

The Chinese studio behind the 2017 CG series, The King of Fighters: Destiny, iDragon Creative Studio is now making a full-length CG movie based on The King of Fighters series called The King of Fighters: Awaken. Acting as something like a sequel to KOF: Destiny, The King of Fighters: Awaken will take place during the Orochi Saga and retell some of its events. The first trailer features Goenitz, Kyo Kusanagi, and Iori Yagami.

Gongsun Li from Honor of Kings is Samurai Shodown's Free Guest Character, Trailer & Screenshots

SNK unveiled the identity of the free Honor of Kings DLC guest fighter coming to Samurai Shodown (2019). Gongsun Li is a female (and bunny-eared) "Marksman" from Tencent's popular series who fights with a parasol. Gongsun Li joins Samurai Shodown's roster next Wednesday on August 5th, completely free!

Street Fighter V Season 5 Character Reveals Coming Aug. 5

Today, Capcom announced a Street Fighter V: Champion Edition " Summer Update" planned for August 5th, 2020. The announcement / event will take place via the Capcom Fighters livestream, where Capcom will be revealing new characters for SFV Season 5. We know there will be a total of 5 new characters joining the roster in Season 5, but it's currently unknown how many will be revealed next Wednesday.

Virtua Fighter x Fist of the North Star: ReVIVE Crossover

Sega announced Virtua Fighter series veterans Akira Yuki & Pai Chan will be upcoming guest characters in their mobile game based on the Hokuto No Ken series, Fist of the North Star: ReVIVE (now available on iOS / Android). Sega also released a trailer featuring the first gameplay of Akira. Interestingly, there will be 2 versions of Akira... 1 based on his VF5 appearance and a "retro" version using original VF1 polygons.

A variety of Directors and Producers from each company will be sharing the latest information and announcements on their respective series! SNK Allstar Animated 2D Sprites / Artwork Preview

Seriously, did you check out these 2D Sprites yet? It might not be a traditional fighting game, but SNK Allstar is a game that will have 70+ playable characters... (2D sprites, that is)! It's no surprise that many "2D sprite / art enthusiasts" of age may not actually play fighting games, anyway. (Let's be honest.) With that being said, I'm positive that many old school fighting game players (who might suffer from wrist cramps) may get a kick of using Billy Kane or Ukyo... in a mobile RPG / beat-em-up.

Storm Collectibles Reveals New Action Figures: Demitri Maximoff, E. Honda & Motaro

Storm Collectibles recently unveiled 3 of their latest poseable action figures based on fan-favorite fighting game characters. Darkstalkers fans rejoice... as Storm Collectibles has acquired the Darkstalkers license and is kicking off the line with a fully poseable figure of Demitri Maximoff. In addition to Demitri, Storm Collectibles also released photos of their beefy E. Honda "SFV Nostalgia Costume" figure, as well as a menacing Mortal Kombat Motaro.

Samurai Shodown x Honor of Kings DLC Guest Fighter Will Be Free, Character Silhouette Shown

SNK recently announced a collaboration with the Tencent-developed Honor of Kings series and Samurai Shodown (2019). Today, SNK revealed on Twitter that the upcoming Honor of Kings DLC guest character will be 100% FREE of charge to download and add to Samurai Shodown 2019's roster. While the guest character hasn't officially been revealed, SNK posted a teaser in the form of a character silhouette

Last week, we reported on upcoming "KOF spin-off" mobile title headed to North America and Europe, SNK Allstar. An Incredibly Rare Street Fighter II: Champion Edition Blanka Cardboard Standee

It seems like a lifetime ago when upcoming video game releases were celebrated with beautiful character artwork, sometimes "blown up" in the form of a stunning, life-size cardboard standee. Steven "Dreamking23" Chavez of Eventhubs recently shared an immaculate Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition cardboard standee of Blanka, drawn by North American artist known for his famous character illustrations, Mick McGinty.

SFV:CE HD Screenshots of Laura's CPT '20 Costume & New Stage

HD screenshots of Laura's Capcom Pro Tour 2020 "Champion's Choice" DLC costume and the Ring of Prosperity stage have been revealed. Naturally, iconic Street Fighter III boss Gill makes a cameo appearance in the Ring of Prosperity stage, which seems to suit his style well. In the new screenshots, we get a closer look at the statues based on other Street Fighter characters appearing in the background. Also take a closer look at Laura's CPT 2020 schoolgirl costume.

SFV: Champion Edition Laura Champion's Choice Costume & Ring of Prosperity Stage Revealed

Today, Capcom revealed new Capcom Pro Tour 2020 DLC content for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. For the fifth year in a row, CPT content brings a new costume for 1 character and a new tournament-setting stage. Shown in the new trailer, Laura Matsuda's CPT 2020 "schoolgirl" costume will cost $5.99. The new Ring of Prosperity stage has a Roman Colosseum theme, featuring statues of Street Fighter characters along with Gill & illuminati members.

"SNK ALLSTAR" KOF Spin-Off Mobile Game Announced

SNK ALLSTAR is an upcoming KOF spin-off mobile title being developed by SuperPrism Games and is launching soon in North America and Europe. The game is said to feature "over 70" characters from iconic SNK series, including: The King of Fighters, The Last Blade, and Samurai Shodown. SNK ALLSTAR is described as a deck-building card-battle game with arcade beat-em-up style fighting mechanics. Pre-registration for SNK ALLSTAR is now live on Google Play.

HORI Reveals Nintendo Switch Fighting Commander Pad

Play fighting games on Switch? HORI announced a Nintendo Switch version of their high quality 6-button Fighting Commander series fightpad. The Switch Fighting Commander Wired Controller is now available for purchase at various retailers including Wal-Mart - with an attractive $39.99 price point. As an owner of several Fighting Commander Pro Pads for PS4/PS3, I can already prerecommend this pad to Nintendo Switch owners looking to stick their inputs.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves Gets Limited Physical Release & Collector's Editions on PlayStation 4

The iconic and era-defining SNK 2D fighter Garou: Mark of the Wolves is getting some more love on PlayStation 4. Limited Run Games has announced they will be publishing a beautiful physical edition for the PS4 version of Garou: MOTW and it will be available for purchase later this month. Additionally, Pix'n Love and SNK announced two (yes, two) Collector's Editions of Garou: MOTW, including an "Ultimate Grant Edition" with signed artwork by Eisuke Ogura.

You may know Japanese artist, Jbstyle, from his vibrantly original character illustrations appearing in TEKKEN 7. As a freelance artist, Jbstyle has done work for various other brands and events over the years. In his latest collaboration with a Japan-based sticker design / manufacturing company, B-SIDE LABEL, Jbstyle has drawn several fan-favorite Capcom heroines in his stunning art style. These officially licensed Capcom stickers are now available on e-Capcom.

Sega Reveals Astro City Mini Arcade Cabinet with 36 Games Built-in, Including Virtua Fighter

Today, Sega unveiled an upcoming miniature version of their iconic Astro City arcade cabinet hardware (first released in 1993). The Astro City Mini features a fighting game-friendly 6-button setup, joystick, USB, HDMI, and will be fully loaded with 36 classic titles, including the first Virtua Fighter. Sega's mini console will launch in Japan for 12,800 yen (about $117) later this year. A Western release has not yet been confirmed. More details inside!

Arc System Works just posted the second installment of their Guilty Gear -STRIVE- blog, "Developer's Backyard". In the second volume, GGStrive Director Akira Katano talks in depth about the updated Roman Cancel mechanic. Capcom France Shares Street Fighter V Lucia Concept Artwork

Throughout Street Fighter V's evolution, Capcom has been transparent in showing many early concept designs for new and returning characters. On Twitter, Capcom France shared some costume concept illustrations for Lucia Morgan of Final Fight 3 fame to further promote the ongoing fan costume concept for SFV Season 5. In the tweet, Capcom France mentioned that one of these Lucia concepts served as the basis for her default SFV costume.

EVO Online 2020 Officially Cancelled, Statements from Capcom, Bandai Namco, NetherRealm Studios

If for any reason you were looking forward to the EVO Online 2020 event, you'll be disappointed to learn that the entire event has been officially cancelled. The reason for the sudden cancellation is due to serious abuse allegations made against EVO event organizer, Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar. This evening, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and NetherRealm Studios have all confirmed via social media they have removed themselves from the event.

Early images of Street Fighter: Duel seemed to take heavy visual inspiration from JRPG, Persona 5. However, the latest vibrant artwork, screenshots, and trailers have a more distinguished vibe, with character designs, locations, and music based on Street Fighter IV and SFV.
