The King of Fighters 15 Gameplay Reveal Trailer for K'

Following the reveal of KOF XV newcomer Isla during SNK's TGS '21 Special Program, SNK dropped another surprise gameplay reveal trailer for returning series veteran, K'. The KOF '99 antihero was previously confirmed for the roster in the original KOF XV announcement trailer, but this is the first time we get to see K' in action in KOF XV. New Character Isla Revealed for The King of Fighters XV

The King of Fighters XV chief producer Yasuyuki Oda, art director Eisuke Ogura, and game director Kaito Soranaka kicked off Tokyo Game Show 2021 with a 1-hour special presentation. After recapping some details revealed in previous trailers, SNK premiered the gameplay reveal trailer for the first newcomer of the game, Isla.

KOF '98: UM Final Edition Rollback Netcode Overhaul Announced, NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 Now on Steam

In addition to revealing new KOF XV character Isla during the SNK's Tokyo Game Show 2021 Special Program, producer Yasuyuki Oda announced The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match Final Edition on Steam will be getting a rollback netcode overhaul coming this Winter. Additionally, SNK announced NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 is now available on Steam.

New Bandai Namco Patent May Hint at TEKKEN 8 Tutorial Mode

While the development of TEKKEN 8 is currently unconfirmed, a new patent from Bandai Namco may suggest that a new feature is in the works for the next sequel in the franchise. The patent looks to be a successor to TEKKEN 7's "My Replay & Tips" feature introduced in Season 3, providing players with recommended counterattacks, punishments, and more onscreen data within Practice mode or possibly a future Tutorial mode.

SNK Revealing New KOF XV Character at TGS '21

To kick off Tokyo Game Show 2021, SNK confirmed they will be revealing one of the female newcomers debuting in The King of Fighters XV during tomorrow's "KOF XV Special Program" starting at 9:00pm (PDT) . As previously reported, a playable beta version of KOF XV will also be appearing at TGS '21

Ryu, Chun-Li & Akuma Join Megaman X DiVE

Megaman X DiVE is an action-platform mobile game developed by Capcom Taiwan for iOS and Android. The title just announced a crossover with the Street Fighter series, featuring playable versions of Ryu and Chun-Li, in addition to a boss battle with Akuma. SNK didn't release a new character trailer for The King of Fighters XV this week (so far), but on Twitter, the company shared the second official team storyline. Street Fighter Alpha 3 Vinyl Soundtrack Collection by Laced Records Announced, Pre-orders Live

Laced Records have already released a variety of fan-favorite fighting game soundtracks in stunning vinyl collections, including the entire Street Fighter III series, the TEKKEN series (1-6 + Tag), and Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2. The vinyl craftsmen are back for "Round 3" with their Street Fighter Alpha 3 Deluxe Triple Vinyl soundtrack collection containing 44 original tracks from the 1998 classic and sweet cover artwork by comic book artist Andie Tong.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Remaster Discussions Between Capcom and Disney Have Reportedly Begun

In 2009, Digital Eclipse released a digital remaster of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360. MVC2 has since been removed from digital storefronts, making it a rare and difficult game for fans to purchase and play. Ken Masters is Getting a Power Stone Falcon Costume in SFV

Today, Capcom announced a third crossover costume coming in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition's September 21st update. The Power Stone series may not have gotten a new installment since the year 2000 (21 years ago), but that doesn't mean Capcom has forgotten about the series (thankfully). On Sept. 21st, Ken Masters will be able to dress as Falcon / Fokker from Power Stone!

Capcom Shares New Screenshots of Ruby Heart & Cyber Akuma Costumes in SFV: Champion Edition

In the upcoming September 21st update for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, players will be able to get their hands on two Marvel Versus Series-inspired costumes. Capcom shared some new HD screenshots of Rose's Ruby Heart costume and Akuma's Cyber Akuma costume. Interestingly, both costumes have some extra detail packed in, such as Ruby Heart's anchor and Cyber Akuma's wings that appear during certain special moves.

Iconic Street Fighter 2 Artist, Mick McGinty, Has Passed Away

If you grew up in the early 90's playing the Street Fighter 2 series, there's no doubt you've seen and probably purchased a video game with Mick McGinty's artwork on the cover. Mick McGinty's iconic cover illustrations for Street Fighter 2, SF2: Turbo, and Super SF2 were an essential part of the series' localized western art style. We're terribly sad to hear about the passing of Mick McGinty today.

Tonight, SNK announced KOF14 newcomer, Kukri, will be returning in The King of Fighters XV. A member of a mysterious secret society, Kukri hides his face with a hood at all times so his identity remains unknown. KOF15 to be Playable at Tokyo Game Show 2021, New Character Reveal Teaser Silhouette

Cyber Akuma Costume Coming to SFV: Champion Edition

Believe it or not, it's actually been a while since Capcom announced a new costume for an existing character in Street Fighter V. First appearing in Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, Cyber Akuma will become available in SFV: Champion Edition on September 21st as a new alternate costume for Akuma. Injustice Animated Movie First Trailer, Releasing Oct. 19th

A new DC animated movie based on the Injustice: Gods Among Us fighting game and graphic novel will be released next month on October 19th, 2021. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated film follows Superman with a dangerous new mindset, ultimately pitting Justice League members against each other. SoulCalibur 6, TEKKEN 7 Producer Motohiro Okubo Leaves Bandai Namco After 25-Year Career

SoulCalibur 6 and TEKKEN 7 producer Motohiro Okubo announced he is leaving Bandai Namco after 25 years working with the company. On Twitter, Okubo announced Aug. 31st was officially his last day at Bandai Namco and thanked fans for supporting the many games he has worked on. Okubo said he will still be working in the gaming industry and will begin working at a Shibuya-based company in the coming weeks.

Recent images from a Japanese online store might've leaked a few of the details early... including some unannounced characters. *Potential Spoilers Ahead* According to the leak, KOF XV is planned for release on February 17th, 2022 — a date which is in line with the current official release window.

Nina Williams TEKKEN Collaboration Costume Revealed for Bandai Namco Action RPG, Tales of Arise

Tales of Arise is an upcoming Action RPG, developed and published by Bandai Namco, coming next month to PS5, PS4, XB1, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. Several versions and bundles of the game will include a "collaboration DLC costumes" set — one costume, for main character Kisara, based on Nina Williams' look from TEKKEN 5.

New KOF XV Info Coming Aug. 25th at Gamescom 2021

SNK didn't show a new character trailer this week, but the company announced on Twitter that new information regarding The King of Fighters XV will be revealed at Gamescom 2021 (next week). Judging from SNK's official tweet, I think we can expect something more than the typical character reveal trailer. Gamescom 2021: The Heart of Gaming takes place in Cologne, Germany from August 25th-27th.

Baiken Joins Samurai Shodown on August 19th

Today, SNK officially announced Baiken as the Guilty Gear series guest character joining Samurai Shodown (2019). Based on her most recent Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 appearance, Baiken retains many of her normal and special attacks in the Samurai Shodown engine. Jack-O' Announced for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-

During EVO Online, Arc System Works officially announced Jack-O' as the next DLC character for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-. The returning Xrd character was known for her clever "tower defense" mechanics and can still summon her minions in -STRIVE-. Jack-O' can now punch or kick her minions to move them around on the stage. She can also fight with her mask on or off, although it's unknown if it effects gameplay. New Akira Kazama SFV: CE Trailer Reveals English Voice, Air Combos & Win Sequence with Daigo

Today, Capcom released a new Street Fighter V: Champion Edition gameplay trailer for Akira Kazama, releasing tomorrow on August 16th alongside Oro. Even though we saw a ton of new Akira gameplay during Capcom's Summer Update stream, the new trailer shows off some cool new Akira tech, combos, and animation... including her win-pose animation featuring her brother Daigo! The new trailer also introduces Akira's English voice actor!

SFV: Champion Edition Akira & Oro V-Trigger Demos

Capcom released two new Street Fighter V: Champion Edition videos featuring upcoming Season 5 characters, Akira Kazama and Oro. The gameplay videos demonstrate V-Trigger abilities for the game's newcomers, beginning with Akira's Rival Schools-inspired assist attack from her brother, Daigo. Skullgirls: 2nd Encore Umbrella Alpha Gameplay Trailer

Earlier this year in May, new character Umbrella was revealed for Skullgirls: 2nd Encore. During EVO Online 2021, Hidden Variable and Future Club showed an early gameplay trailer for Umbrella, coming soon to Skullgirls: 2nd Encore via the Season Pass 1. Vira Joins Granblue Fantasy Versus in December

During the Granblue Fantasy Summer stream, following updates for Cygames' mobile series, Vira was revealed as the next playable character coming to Granblue Fantasy Versus. Current lord of Albion Citadel, Vira was raised in the fortress city alongside Katalina, who she considers to be her sister. While not a full gameplay trailer, Vira's reveal shows her in-game model in addition to her character artwork.

First Look Gameplay Trailer for Blazing Strike

Blazing Strike is an upcoming indie 2D fighting game by developer Rarebreed Makes Games. The game is planned for release on Steam, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2022. Aksys Games released a first look gameplay trailer for Blazing Strike which introduces several of the game's characters, including Alexander, Lei Long, Ryohei, Mochizuki, and Hana.

What Happened to Capcom Fighting All-Stars?

In 2003, Capcom canceled their long-rumored "Capcom Vs. Capcom" 3D fighting game titled Capcom Fighting All-Stars, which later evolved into the infamous Capcom Fighting Evolution. YouTuber and fighting game historian Matt McMuscles recently uploaded an incredibly informative video on the events that lead up to the cancellation of Capcom Fighting All-Stars.

In July 2021, Laced Records released two expert-crafted vinyl soundtrack collections for two iconic and highly-influential 3D fighting games of their respective eras, TEKKEN Tag Tournament and TEKKEN 4. Obscure Street Fighter II Anime Now Available in English

26 years ago, an obscure Street Fighter II anime short titled "Street Fighter II - Return to the Fujiwara Capital: The Fighters Who Leapt Through Time" was released to coincide with an exhibition in Japan's Nara Prefecture in 1995. Produced by Studio Pierrot, the 22-minute short serves as an educational movie about the history of Fujiwara, Japan.

Athena Asamiya Announced for The King of Fighters XV

SNK revealed Athena Asamiya as the latest playable character of The King of Fighters XV. Athena has appeared in every major KOF installment to date and stays true to her character by showing off her brand new outfit in SNK's latest 2.5D fighter. Capcom Announces SFV: Champion Edition Summer Update 2021 Stream, Akira Kazama & Oro Gameplay Being Shown

Next Tuesday (August 3rd) at 3:00pm PDT, Capcom's Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Summer Update 2021 digital stream event will be live for 1 hour to show off new gameplay of upcoming Season 5 Characters Oro and Akira Kazama. There's a chance we may even see the reveal of the final (unannounced) Season 5 character.

KOF: All-Star x DOA6 Character Gameplay Trailers

Four girls from Dead or Alive 6 are joining Netmarble's mobile beat-em-up The King of Fighters: All-Star tomorrow, July 29th. Netmarble shared gameplay trailers for Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka, and Nyotengu, showing off what the DOA heroines can do in the game. Each gameplay trailer is just under 1 minute long.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Version 1.07 Full Patch Notes

Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Support Ends After 2 Years

On Twitter, NetherRealm Studios confirmed they are officially ending DLC support for Mortal Kombat 11 and are now focused on their next project. What their next project is, or whether or not it's a fighting game, is currently unknown. NRS clarified that no additional DLC characters will be added to MK11 beyond this point.

The straight-to-DVD animated movie Mortal Kombat: Scorpion's Revenge is getting a sequel. The first trailer for Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms shows some of the confirmed characters for the 2021 animated flick, including old school 3D era characters AKA "fresh blood", Li Mei and Reiko.
